Is it me, or Smoky's damage gets REALLY decreased in big distances??? It used to be a very effective Turret in long distances before the new rebalance occured. Anyone experienced the same? Nowadays i find it very hard to kill any hull from long distances with Smoky (and i don't miss). -_-

It can be in the right hands. But you would get much better results if you used Railgun. Thunder would work at its best in maps like Sandbox, Zone etc.

AMEN!!! There is no best turret (generally speaking) indeed. But each turret has advantage in a range of maps. Example: Railgun and Shaft have advantage in large maps, thus they are "the best" in those maps...NO DOUBT. Likewise, Isida, Freeze and Firebird are best in maps like Ping-Pong, Boombox and Island...NO DOUBT. Smoky, Thunder, Rico and Twins are more suitable for medium ranged maps. With that said, there are a few more more factors that decide which combo should be used in a map for maximum profit, like: 1. On which hull you are going to mount your Turret (very crucial for any battle). 2.The paints that others players use. (Too many protective paints against even the most apropriate turret, will cause you to lose anyways). 3. Their Turret-Hull combination. (You can't expect to be succesfull with Isida in a map full of Freezes for instance). 4. In this category i will put other minor factors like: Do you have good teammates, or Do you have a few druggers in your team (you could support them with Isida if out of drugs yourself), or even if your Turrets combination AS A TEAM is wise (you can have a team full of Freezes in Sandbox, but that would make for the other team easy to nerf you, if they get all Anti-Freeze paints). So here would fit strategical issues that are involved on the battlefield.

This poll, that asks about "which Turret goes best with hornet"?? Seriously, a pointless poll. EVERY single turret rocks with Hornet!!!! :wub: :wub: :wub: IMO the most versatile and most used hull in the game...FO SURE!!!

IMO Twins is very good in med maps like Sand, where there are lots of open spaces. And it could be good in smaller maps if you mount it on a heavy hull (true mass killer). But in big maps, just don't use it!!! Rail in big maps FTW!
