That depends on you, your preferences, your wallet, and your budget. :) I will say this though: If you are planning to MU past step 7, use the instant upgrade. (equip the item in a battle) Surprisingly, it's actually cheaper to use Instant Upgrade from step 8 on up to 25. ^_^

Just keep playing and getting XP, and you'll eventually rank up. :) However, if you are looking for a cool way to rank up, then you can ask a friend to come to a rankup party. :) I would leave it clean until M3. The only thing I would suggest is to MU the armor if you aren't planning to buy M3 Hornet.

Firebird would be my suggestion because Hammer might not do as well as Firebird in Polygon because Firebird can attack multiple enemies at once in the death pit. Hammer can do it, but not as well as Firebird. As for Noise, I've seen Firebird do very well, and Hammer too. Just pick the one that suits your playing style and tactics best. :)

That Brigadier in Ping-Pong with M1 tho...... :ph34r: I wonder.....how much more effective would you be with Emerald? B)

As for Hulls, I think Viking would be your best bet, because M3 unlocks earlier than Hunter or Dictator. I have Viking, and I use it extensively as my primary Hull. Coupled with Hammer or Firebird, the combo is very effective in the maps you mentioned. Thunder is good too, but you need to have a good Thunder protection paint, and try to have enough Crystals saved to buy M3 when you rank to Brigadier.
