XP for those who have M2 Hornet requires a paint with 20% protection from Railgun. So only the format XP requires a paint like Fracture for those who use M2 Hornet.

Depends. What is your playing style? If you usually find yourself up close and personal, get Hammer. If you usually fight long range, get Thunder. I suggest you get M2 Hornet so you have 1 M2 Hull, then you can save for Railgun or Hammer M2, depending on how you like to play.
