Well, of course there could be. I believe it's impossible for there not to be... we're like in 1 planet out of a billion trillion quadrillion others and there has to be life. I know, it's possible for a different alien specie to survive in exactly opposite the conditions humans live in. There's actually a microscopic animal (don't remember it proper name but it's nicknamed 'Water-Bear') which can survive in outer space, without any oxygen or gases and can survive in extreme high and low temperatures in which humans cannot possibly survive yet. Humans are intelligent, they're the most intelligent specie on this planet. And for us, Earth is the habitable zone. Now we can't just spread rumours that there's life on many planets as we don't know. Life formed on Earth because of some things, and for those things to happen there were particular conditions. The way humans evolved (still only theories on this subject) is the only we we know of life evolving. But what you said is true. We don't know, there might even be life on one of our Solar System's planet...

A satellite names Kepler (launched on March 7, 2009) orbits the sun every 371 Earth days. It has found over 1000 planets. Some of you might know, but one planet it confirmed, Kepler 186f, had been in the news and said to have traces of Oxygen and being almost the size of Earth it also orbits a star at a distance enough to be called a Habitable Zone. It's the most Earth-Like planet discovered. Could there be life there?
