I'm not sure about that, imo it's best if zero supply is only available for a few days, be it during more important celebrations or holidays. Too much of it wouldn't be very fun, plus it would affect the game balance, probably.

As seen from your screenshot, two players just joined the battle, that's why their score is 0. Your team most likely had less players because of the score difference between both teams.
