Member trying to get username/password, promising crystals.

sent me a message with a link to this forum: [REMOVED LINK] There's posts there asking people for their username/passwords, promising them crystals. Not sure where to post this and there's no link to report members so I'm posting here. Apologies if this is the wrong place. -
I noticed this too yesterday. It was very difficult to play because my timing was all off. I think maybe the previous update (where you can change turret/hull/paint without leaving the battle) had something to do with it.
-
Ah, this wouldn't work for me then. I'm usually in a position where the turrets facing to my left or right.
-
I've never tried this. Doesn't the impact of the shot flip you? Suppose you were only able buy the M1 Shaft but you still use the M0 Wasp because you don't have enough crystals...won't firing a shot with this configuration flip you over?

Dates can be very easily manipulated. All the system admin of this forum has to do is go to the database that stores the members date of registration and change that value to 1901 (unless it uses something called a UNIX timestamp, in which case, it's just a different value - number of seconds elapsed since January 1 1970 00:00:00 GMT). It's literally a 2 minute job so people should probably ignore that.

Oh yeah, I do that...I don't use the 'P' key, I just hit enter because that's easier to feel on the keyboard without taking your eyes off the screen. The enter key brings up the chat box so follow it up with the escape key and you silently jump out of scope mode without anyone knowing.
-
Sometimes, a member of the opposing team will single you out to attack you. You'll often end up trying to kill each other only. Sometimes, you'll be in scope mode waiting for them to come out of hiding so you can shoot them but they wait till you get a shot off or move (because that means you're not on scope mode) to come out and hit you. When this happens a good trick is, once you get out of scope mode, don't move, stay still till you reload. Once you're fully reloaded, move a bit. At this point, the opponent may decide to come out thinking you have ro reload and it's going to take 8 seconds for you to reload...but you have already reloaded :D So, you just aim at him and get a shot off. Works very often when a Rail/Shaft decides to duel with me.

Drink juice or tea? I'm usually moving about. Even if it's in the same area, I'm constantly moving my turret looking around to either and attackers coming towards me or trying to help out team mates far away being attacked. I only go into scope mode when I know someone's going to come close or when I see someone coming close. Yeah I agree about other turrents screwing with your aim. Thunder doesn't do it so much...mostly Shaft, Rail or Rico and last, Smoky. I try and hit the tip of their turret when I hit them so that they lose their aim. I also try and expose as little of my hull as possible so it's difficult for them to aim.
-
I find it's best to play defence with a heavy tank like Titan with Shaft. That way, you have time to aim even if an enemy is coming towards you because you have a lot of health...so take your time, aim and kill and you're safe. It's the worst possible weapon to attack with though but the best weapon (along with freeze and isida which are also great for attack) to defend with.

Holy cow...I wouldn't mind my connection being that slow!

It's fine right now but there are times, hours after a reboot, where it's impossible to log into. It's not only me that's affected, you'll see that there are only a few thousand people logged in when the problem persists which is a very low number compared to how many users are logged in at other times.
-
I agree. Too many Shaft users get into scope mode and stay that way the entire game and end up with low scores and end up calling the Shaft a bad weapon. Since the new physics, you can afford to live out of the scope and only get into scope to get a shot off at an opponent.
-
You can't just say that, it depends on your style of play. If I were thinking the same way, I could say that you can see when a rail is going to shoot because the tip of the turret glow, at that point, all you do is shoot at the tip of the rail with your shaft and he will miss you. Doing that 1-3 times will destroy a rail.

I doubt it was my network provider because all the other sites were working fine. This issue persisted for about 2 hours after the restart which I thought was unusual. It seems fine now. Can the devs/staff offer any explanation?
-
Wouldn't it be great if you guys had the same amount of concern against constant druggers who are "spoiling the game experience to others"...
-
It seems like it's working for some people. Perhaps it has something to do with the geographical location. Right now, the main site says there are 9 384 online. That's a very small number compared to what it usually is, right? I remember seeing up to 30,000+ users online at any given time.
-
Is it just me or has the servers been really terrible in the last two days, right after the restart? I'm only seeing 8335 players online, according to the home page so I'm guessing there's something wrong with the servers. If I try to use a server, it takes for ever to load and then I get a popup saying "Connection closed". Is this because of the server migration?

I've been using M1 for a while now but I don't remember the stats. However, I do think you should get it but only if it suits your style of play. If you already own a Shaft and you're good at it, get M1, you can only get better. Shaft is not suitable for offence. However, if you help your team mates catch the flag by killing the opponents from afar, some of them are nice enough to bring the flag to you so that you can catch it. In any case, if you've got a good strategy that works for your style of play, you don't need to catch a flag to end up on the top 3 in any match. I definitely recommend a heavy hull for a Shaft. I use a Titan. Get a paint like Dirty (if it's available at your rank) because the only ones that can get you by surprise are long range weapons like other Shafts and Rails. Rails are very easy to battle with because you can see when they are about to shoot and you can hit their turret to at the last moment so that the shot doesn't hit you but another Shaft would be a challenge because they are so accurate and you have no idea when they are going to shoot.
-
Titan is great with Shaft. Especially when dueling with another shaft because you can go in one direction, sit there for a few seconds while the opponent shaft goes into scope mode, then you go in the opposite direction quickly and aim and fire at him. He wouldn't be able to get a shot off because he's still turning his turret. You can't go as fast on a mammoth. Also, shaft turret turns very slowly so if you turn the hull together with the turret, it's pretty fast. mammoth is way to slow to do this. So, for an agile shaft combo, I highly recommend titan.

Oh man, that's so annoying.

Even a bot can attack first. It all depends on how you program it. As a programmer myself, I'm 100% sure this is not a bot. It's a real live human playing and my guess is it's someone who works at TankiOnline.
-
A fake paint can be quite easily Photoshopped into an image.

It's definitely not a hacker. The main reason is that 3 gold boxes drop when he is killed. For this to happen, there's a condition in the code that says "when Godmode_ON is killed, drop 3 gold boxes". So, the code probably has something like this: if (user id = 1 and he is destroyed) { execute procedure to drop gold box x 3 } I'm assuming that Godmode_ON is the first registered user of tanki which is why I assumed the `user id` as 1. There's no way it's a hacker. This guy is known well to the tanki developers and they have special code in their program for him. My guess is it's a developer or even the owner as somebody suggested. I'm sure the devs are laughing at how confused we are about this :D

It's good that it's responsive. Btw, your Twitter widget generates this error: You'll only see that if you use a developer tool. Chrome's web developer tools, for example. Maybe this is why your FB/Twitter/G+ widget container is off the screen for me, even though the site is responsive. Not a huge fan of the glossy buttons but I suppose that's a matter of taste. I like the fact that you're using HTML5. I see a ton of cookies set by http://mc.yandex.ru/. What's that for? Can I block them?
