It has come to my attention that this topic is approaching 100 pages of discussion. Since this topic's creation in October of 2010, the gold box craze has consistently spread and become more and more popular, leaving legacies upon legacies in its wake. As the four year anniversary of the Gold Box approaching and the mark of 100 pages in this topic about to be set, we have no regrets. I am glad to still be a part of Tanki, and of this Gold Box rush, and I hope all you tankers out there realize the signiffigance of this as well. Your pal, SpiderPig1

Could be, I agree with that, but I also think that the key player theory still has some merit to it.

Yah, that always seems to work for everyone but me. I always go to the one spot the gold isn't at, except for on Polygon.

I have tried to learn from several different theories about where the Gold Box drops. So far the most promising one is the Key Player theory, and although it may not work every time, that's just cause it's a guess as to what happens. In my book, you only need skill, determination, and luck in order to catch a Gold Box. As promising or as not promising as a theory can be, it is, after all, just a theory. As long as you think you can catch a Gold Box, you will catch a Gold Box. That's how I see it.

That's what I do too. I've only had the chance to do it once, on Silence. On the large ramp to your left if you view it from the Red Team's side, a gold dropped right at the very top of it. Every other person was either sniping, oblivious to the gold right in front of their noses or on the other ramp near the main entrance to the blue zone (keep in mind this is the original Silence, where there was no third middle ramp), so I let it fall, took a screenshot that ended up who knows where, and waited until someone got the hint and almost took it. Of course, I got it, but I think I waited a bit too long.

I recently caught a Gold Box when I was on vacation, and the pic I took of it is pretty funny. It's a 5000 from a few weeks ago, and I have M2 Hornet and M1 Thunder, but I'm telling you this because I catch the Gold and take a pic just as I explode, so the entire screen is a white flash with my name at the top. Will post pic as soon as I get it off my laptop. I have five 1000s (Polygon x2, Madness, Silence, Moon Silence) One 2000 from a Christmas event a year or two back (Silence) One 2014 from New Year celebration (Monte Carlo) One 5000 from Tanki's Fifth Birthday (Polygon)

Drugs may be annoying, but sometimes you just got to face it: it's a essential part of Tanki. I also have been playing Tanki Online for three years and have had many experiences with druggers, including myself. Yes, I used to be a drugger, although I am not anymore. To me, using drugs for anything else but to catch Gold Boxes and to defend yourself from opposing druggers means you don't have either enough bravery or skill to keep up to the real tankers in the game. This aside, there are many skilled druggers, but if you're only in it to dominate, then learn how to fight the right way. I agree that druggers can be annoying, that they make you mad, that they can think that they are cooler than anyone else even if they need that extra bit of help. But if you are a real tankman, then you have got to persevere and succeed no matter what you face. You can't just go running at the first sight of something that might be bad. I mean, a lot of druggers lack skill and with experience you can take them down before they do you. So come on back. Try to succeed once more. Be a real tanker.

Yeah, it was a lot harder to catch gold when it had a more random chance of dropping somewhere. I wish developers would tell us the logic behind where the gold drops. If they could send something like that out in a VLOG or just out in general explaining why gold boxes fall in certain areas more than others.

That's not parkour, or even anything to do with Tanki. Go find a different forum,this one's about Tanki. Love your guides, my fav is Courage. It depends. It used to be, when Rico had that incredible recoil, but since it's nerfing, Railgun has taken over that number one spot. It is a good turret with lots of recoil and can shoot a tank anywhere (almost anywhere...). I agree with you that Wasp is a great hull for Parkour, but unless you're on the test server, it's kind of expensive in its later upgrades, whereas Hornet is less expensive with more health. HP may not look important, but with many Railguns shooting at you all at once, it can get sketchy with a Wasp sometimes.

I need a paint, so I'll get Corrosion, Cedar, or most likely Swash. I don't buy, so I'll need to save up a lot in the next couple days since I just bought the M2 Hornet.

So many people have my turret and hull equipped, but not my paint. My main is banned, no point in going there, but on my alt i have M1 Thunder, M2 Hornet, and Moonwalker. You see that combo a lot, just not the paint. Thank goodness for that, I like being unique! :)

^^ Agreed. I was in a Silence a few days ago with a Colonel that couuldn't turn his turret becuase he didn't know how; I actually had to explain it to him, and in the same battle there was a Warrant Officer 2 kicking butt with M0s. Being a noob does not mean you are a low rank, being a noob means not knowing no-brrainer stuff and all that applies to that sort of thing.

Rail or Smoky M2 and M2 Hunter or M2 Wasp with Orange.

When you talked about after the rebalance, you meant the new-balance, right? Moonwalker Plus, if you were smart enough to get Moonwalker (22% Rico), it diminishes the need for other Rico-Protective paints while looking good. It also was cheap! However, I still agree with you that Spark has staged a comeback, that it looks cool, that it's a good, efficient paint, and that Rico has been bumped extremely high since the new-balance.
