Sir - A very well written article. I joined the chat moderator community very recently and from the experience I have gained so far, I can support and probably add a little color to a few things that my colleague has written here: Mod to player ratio: – With the game being played 24/7, we try to maintain a round-the-clock follow-the-sun model to cover all the time zones but it is true that we can’t be everywhere all the time. This is where the community can assist us by reporting violations using the violators section in the forum. It is important to remember that even in real life, not everybody joins the police force but you still have people who are good Samaritans. What brings the hammer down: – Tanki is a virtual world but played by real players. The expectation from every tanker is to maintain the same good decorum in the game that you would follow at your home, your school/college or your work place. Ignorance of these rules is not an excuse and if you disagree with these rules which you agreed to at the time of registration, you are always allowed to leave the site and not use the game. Respecting fellow tankers is a necessity. Trying to converse with moderators: - As much as we would love to chat with the entire community, as a result of the Mod to player ratio mentioned earlier, it is important for our Tanki friends to understand that our time would be much better utilized in finding chat or game violators. Also, if you are not happy about a moderator’s action, you can always bring that to the attention of the chat administrators but trying to get the moderator’s attention in the chat lobby will not help your cause. Abuse of the /vote command is also a drain on moderator resources, especially if you call a moderator to drop a gold box or to ask about Godmode_on or to complain about a player who is using supplies. I have seen certain members of the community complain that they never see the “Player X has been disconnected from the server” message on the lobby chat indicated that moderators are not looking into game violations. If a player is found violating the rules, usually the moderator will kick the player from the game itself in which case the message will not appear in the lobby chat and will appear in the respective in-game chat alone. Work ethic and play time: - Ever since I joined the moderator community, I have played probably for 2 hours in a month. For moderators, this is more than a game and we are at the front helping all of you. It is a very demanding and time consuming process and all of us here consider it just like a regular job that you would go to in real life – except that we are volunteers here. So, calling moderators for duels in the battle chat isn't helping the community. Record keeping: - You will be surprised at the amount of work that we put in for every ban and warn. The more serious an offence, the more paperwork happens behind the scene and it is a process that needs to be repeated for each and every violation. Moderators do not ban at random or at whim – there are lots of people discussing violations behind the scene to make sure we are fair. At the end of the day, as my fellow moderator Ajayraj once told me during my candidate days – “Chat moderators are not policemen – we are here to assist and help provide a better gaming experience on the Tanki platform. Our work here is to help and not to punish. By giving a ban to someone, we are actually helping other players and we must always keep this in mind while dealing with every situation”.

The 2014 Tanki CTF Final was played between Killers and Noobs at Kungur today. It went down to the wire with Noobs winning by 1 flag. All matches were broadcast live on StarLadder. In the post-match presentation, the winning captain who used Isida/Hornet/Zeus said, “Killers played well. We were under pressure from the Firebird, Twins and Shaft combo but the turning point was reading about Update 270 on the forum before the game and realising Firebird’s Max damage had been reduced. The last few metres to the flag was just away from firebird - a calculated gamble that paid off.” -
Thanks...good to see you are still in TO...if you still intend to continue playing, add me and you can always call me to fight on the same side
-
whoo!! what a battle - noise CTF on double funds day...my hands have gone numb...had to do a one man army stunt here attacking from below with the rest of my team defending the flag...used M2 Fire/M2 Hunter/Loam...+ a little drugs of course...I wonder if I can repeat this once fire gets nerfed in the next rebalance

Well...this is a strategy in itself because no one likes to lose...IMO, it's not just enough to pick a side and fight but if you want to win, choose wisely and keep improving your strategy during the battle...I do this in 3 stages Prior to joining a battle, I always make a call based on 4 factors - remaining time/ score to win (if time remaining is too short or the score is too close to target ) rank comparison (to determine better equipment), score comparison of leaders and members in a team (better to join a team which indicates everyone is chipping in rather than a 1 man show) and score rate (if a team is scoring kills quickly or is able to convert flags into points). A few minutes after joining the battle, I determine who are the druggers in the game and which side they are on...if both sides are drugging, whether all members are drugging all the time and if they are drugging at the appropriate time...cos lets face it...drugs give you advantage and knowing when to use it in a battle is critical especially if you don't intend to drug all the time and are relying on your team mates to pull you through During the battle, I keep a constant watch on the score and the leaders and who is leaving and joining...a lot of times I find lower skilled or lower ranked players quickly filling up winning sides in the hope of a quick victory. Once the battle fund, reaches about 1000, suddenly the top few leaders leave and join the other side. Initially the lower skilled players feel thrilled that they can now enjoy a bigger chunk of the battle fund and are also able to dominate a few higher ranks. Within a few minutes, the tables have turned and the other team is now full of high ranked players/druggers and the other side loses...most of lower skilled players don't leave believing they will win and end up being cannon fodder..so if I see a likelihood of success for the takeover, I also end up leaving and joining the higher ranks...in today's Tanki, recognizing a take over and its probability of success at the early stage will make the difference between winning and losing So, the real question is not "do you like going in a losing team or a winning team?"...it should be "do you want to win or lose?"

Freeze is sitting M0 in my garage and it will probably stay that way...if I am in Tanki for years and years, this will probably be the last turret I buy....IMO, it is the most annoying turret and currently, in team matches, freezes on my own team spoil the one unique feature of my favourite weapon...firebird. I know everyone says Freeze is a defending weapon but I have seen so many players using it to attack (with supplies)

M2 Fire M2 Hunter at its best on the day of double funds in 2 places which are traditionally not Fire dominated - CP Mode and Camp (Reverse CTF) First is Sandbox CP - Highest d/l and top of the scoreboard considering I was using M2 vs M3s...obviously CP Mode also meant being exposed in the open quite a bit and yet Fire and Hunter were top-notch Next is CAMP - this was was an attempted takeover on my side...score when I joined was blue leading 7 to red's 2...had to drug here a bit just to reach the enemy base, especially since an Isida on my team was refusing to heal me and was only bent on trying to cap....started to win after he left and got good support from the team after that...once you reach the enemy base, just had to use DP and all those snipers scattered since they are usually huddled up together (a bit like herding up the sheep for slaughter!!)
-
What can an innocent M2 firebird do when its up against an M3 Freeze, M3 Thunder, 2 M2 Freezes and 1 M1 Thunder...with a little drugs at the end of course ;-)
-
Multiple takeover attempts thwarted to win a Sandstone CP without using supplies even once...first time was 4 rails...then they all left, then 1 fire, 1 rail and 2 rics and finally 2 freezes and 2 rics which we would have lost except the timer was on our side and they ended up wasting supplies...M2 Fire M2 Hunter Loam/Corrosion...enjoyed this battle

Good support role today with M2 Shaft M2 Hunter in Silence CTF...when the entire red team left at scores 2-5, some of the enterprising high ranked leaders from blue moved over to red to take over the game...failed....camped with a few mines near the flag...good team work 2 nice things happened in today's game... 1.) I placed one mine each on both sides of the flag and camped near the wall looking at the flag (next to the opening looking down at the red team)...a drugging ricochet viking came charging in from the ramp on the left side, kills 3 team mates, ignoring me -> hit the first mine -> grabbed the flag and activated health and armor as he was flipping -> hit the second mine and BOOM! -> but before his carcass hit the floor, I was scoped in on him in case he missed the mine, so I shot the carcass anyway instantly and it flipped again....in the chat, I could see him rage cursing about the shaft he saw but ignored...LOL 2.) a Major (username = shaayine) using fire hornet joined this match on my side (before the whole red team left as mentioned above) and pushed me over the opening into the red base...when I told him "Dude...watch where you are going, you just pushed me"...he replied..."Sö?"....So, I said, "Try that again"and he replied, "Why - What will you do?"...obvious case of violation of game rule but I didn't have video recording activated...when the high rankers moved to red team (as mentioned above), this chap also moves there....I one hit him 5 times in 5 different places as he was trying to come up...he leaves and sends me a friend request...LOL...obviously I declined
