Perhaps not much improvement immediately, but then you can start getting M4!

Lots of people have a decent Freeze paint/Isida paint, such as Inferno or Irbis; those are readily available at lower M3 ranks. However, for top-notch Rico protection you have to be a Gissimo (Clay). In addition, Clay doesn't protect against the short range turrets (Firebird, Freeze, Isida), so it is less common in Island matches.

Rico is also good for many of the maps you mention; they have walls that can be utilized in unique ways.

Eh. In CPs it's kinda crazy, everyone just has this 'charge into the center!' mindset.

Depends on your playing style; if you enjoy camping, Smoky is excellent, while Twins is good for defense/CP matches.

I don't buy, I just happen to have 150k spare crystals.

I have almost exactly 150k crystals, and am wondering if I should: (1) Spend it all on MUs for M3 Thunder during the MU sale (should get pretty close to M3.5; I already have a few on damage/reload) (2) Spend ~70k on MUs, saving 80k for M3 Hornet when a 50% sale rolls around (3) Spend ~20k on MUs, saving 80k for M3 Hornet and 50k for M2 Railgun when a 50% sale comes (4) Spend nothing on Thunder MUs, saving for M3 Hornet + MUs, and M2 Railgun

In my opinion, Thunder or Firebird are among the most effective turrets for Polygon CP. They work fairly well with Viking-Rustle, especially Thunder. Seeing as that you don't have any of those... Freeze proves to be a slightly less effective cousin of Firebird; Rail simply is not the best at Polygon CP. If you want, MU the Freeze, but do note that M3 Freeze unlocks at Major General, 3 ranks above your current rank. I would say buy Firebird and MU it, but it's up to you.

Should I ever rank to WO4 on my alt, I will get M1 Hunter. Till then, M1 Viking will serve as an acceptable intermediary.
