Yes it is. It started out as really fun, went sideways and slid backwards in my opinion. I used to buy, and I can't deny the physics are still cool but when I see the stupid decisions being made I can't stand it. The only 'development' is copying features directly from other games like WOT Blitz. Part of the reason I am so sore is the paints and weapons are developed in a way specifically to waste your time spent building up before the change. I still maintain a shotgun and a machine gun are the most banal 'new' ideas for tank weapons. They started with laser beams and ended up with shotguns... sort of sums up tankionline, which looks desperate for revenue from an overpriced low quality product.

The main ones for me - votekick , ridded games of mults, afkers and noobs who needed to work harder - the lack of stasi mods who swoop into games and ban people - reliability. When I started, the turret you worked to buy was good. Then you spent ages getting the turret only for the devs to say 'whoops sorry that was OP, so we had to nerf it, you're welcome'
-
staff/mods can't be evrywhere so bring back votekick to clean your own side. I don't like this current gestapo mod set up anyway, it's creepy having someone sneak into a game and ban the people for being rude when someone should just be kicked for multing. The new votekick system should have a boss with a weighted decision so their vote and one other is enough to kick a bad player. I would suggest the rest of the team downvote together unanimously to achieve a kick. Otherwise, mults just stay forever, this could happen under old votekick too though unless everyone downvoted at the same time.

Hey Kevred, machine guns piercing tank armor is sci-fi to me! As for the giant shot gun, navies gave that idea up around 300 years ago. The game needs indirect fire, could be mortar, rockets. One tank could act as spotter and direct the team to individual target etc etc. the list of cool ideas goes on and on. It's easy to come up with them and harder to develop them, but that's no excuse for the talent at TO. I was sad to see the game so empty tonight. The game is hurting and I hope a problem solver can come and help them through the funk. I see google trends reflects the personal opinions above. The apex of 2012-2013, the changeability issues. Part of the problem IMO is that TO doesn't know where it is going and it is took hard for the players to predict. TO even seems to be adding concepts from other multiplayer tank games. The underlying problem: Buying a weapon is a simple choice of which is the best, so you put all your game time and money into it. Players can see and feel which is the best combo. TO is a slow game so you specialize your weapon set. Next the devs analyze the data and see too many people are playing X turret or hull. Nobody uses Y. So then they make X weaker and Y stronger. Fixed the game right? Maybe you made 'balance' but you just wasted everyone's time. They have lost esteem in the brand and they feel like their weak tank sucks. People not buying now? Let's add some entirely new weapons. We have to make them OP so people buy them. Could be a good idea, could work. But the weapons are not imaginative, do not add diversity to the gameplay. In time the new weapons will be nerfed if they become popular and another M3 weapon will be unused in your garage. TO has made a catch 22. In order to make a good game popular weapons and hulls must be made weaker or unpopular weapons and hulls stronger. This means you keep good physics and graphics but make what is most important to the players worse - their tank. It's so sad but the figures speak for themselves. Am I being too harsh? This plane is in for a bumpy landing.

Wow bro. Nicely written. Sic transit Gloria I think means thus passes glory but the meaning here is the same. I agree on almost everything. Especially that all the well-intentioned changes come together with unforeseen results. All except for your pen- ultimate point (I know you love latin) that Tanki is becoming more of a money maker. If it charges too much it won't be wildly popular. Let's just get this point out in the clear, if you are not even an occasional buyer, you are just cannon fodder for those who spend even $20 on a crystal sale. Even for the buyers, ranking up is a repetitive process that will take years and a lot of money if you want the full garage, maybe $200 USD if you use the sales and $600 otherwise at a guess. Minimum time 12 months if you have any kind of life. So I feel like they don't have an accurate idea of what the game is worth and how to price it. TO is currently over-priced. The game simply isn't good value for money when you compare it to a professional console studio game like GTA V ($50). I know people are crazy these days for silly tank games on the iPad which are not as good as tanki Online. But that's the difference, the mobile market is for ripping people off. Try as they might, TO will either be a laptop/ desktop computer game or a mobile device game. I see it as a computer game, with a focus on functions and game play. Accordingly I expect value for money. If it's a mobile game, don't expect a community of loyal followers but by all means strip the game down to zero graphics and charge the earth. I think I will keep looking in until this identity crisis is over, which you are right my friend SicTransitGloria, that will be after the change to unity. Let's hope sic reditus gloria

Hi Ash metal my friend. Yes the TO team has worked hard and we all appreciate it. Believe it or not I don't want to destroy the game just because I rarely play anymore, I actually want to help improve it.
-
yes of course. The lag is much worse. good point Also the division of servers by language and auto placing was a silly change
-
Yea I would agree with that. You invest time and or money into a game and it changes in a way you might not like so you miss the old times. and I'm sure new players are having a great time ranking up and Tanki can afford to lose old players like myself. None of this answers the essential identity crisis for TO. Is it a video game or a cartoon game? Is there any relation to reality or is it all Dev ideas only? Why on earth a tank would have a giant shotgun or a machine gun on the roof is beyond me. It's not a reality and it's not a cool fantasy. The upside of all this is that I'm not hooked anymore so thanks guys :)

The game is so close to being excellent but it doesn't grip me anymore. I don't want to seem negative or whatever, just to state my position and get some feedback. I can understand your point , but people are naturally frustrated when there are constant updates

Powerstrike, There is no threat or spamming here on my part, perhaps on yours unless you can draw a logical connection to the topic

Is this game as good as it used to be ?
Pistolcc replied to Pistolcc in Is this game as good as it used to be ? Archive
I like Tanki, but I used to love it. All the changes have put me off a little. I thought a shotgun and machine gun were the least imaginative possible additions to the game. I now play less and I probably won't buy any more crystals. So this is the end of the line for me. Just to ask what does everyone else think? -
If you are going to change the game (you have), you should offer a trade in for existing kit
-
M3 twins. They take forever to MU and are v expensive. They are best used for fat tanks on drugs that sit in a CP game. Not my style really Pretty useless elsewhere but look nice.
-
well the hammer (BETTER NAME IS SPITTER IMO) is underwhelming. I know the look is changing from the last v log but the power is not equal to rail at close range as previously told reload is slow, which doesn't make sense for a magazine weapon thanks for chance on test server (MY FIRST TIME)
-
Yes, the changes are so quick it is hard to keep up with them, on 01 Dec the firebird often awkwardly left you alive with <5 hp after the attacker died. This had all changed by the next day, but the residual burning seems gentler What I would say about smoky is that while they did eventually leave it alone wrt damage and impact, They have made the critical hit one in every 4/5 shots and you can never get two crits back to back.

WELL DONE DEVS ! Have a cookie ... I just love the update. I hadn't thought of it myself so it was a nice surprise. Shaft is stable now and the laser sight scares the hell out of the enemy. IMO it gives shaft a more interactive role bc people run away from the laser sight. A good job well done. This is my second post congratulating TO on an update, which makes a change from complaining about a bad development.
-
Yes I saw (felt) that. Also, in a fight when you kill a firebird, the fire now drains you down to all of 5 hp but leaves you alive PS smoky is back to 4 shot kills for unprotected hornets most of the time. Impact force is still down though. :v
-
Good job TO <3 your work Semyon Kirov Keep striving for excellence Everyone should be a little more Japanese
-
You are right about the stats. They remain the same, but there are dozens of other parameters that can be changed. Or individual weapons could be tweaked by a factor of say 0.95 This would be enough to have a big impact for people who play a lot. last week I could kill an m4 prodigi hornet in 4 shots 9 times of 10 now it is 5 shots 9 times of 10. What Im saying is well spotted on the numbers they show us, but the observations prove that other variables have been changed. They constantly tweak in order to make a balanced environment which doesn't favour any one single turret. This is a good thing but it can be v frustrating when you spend time and money on something.
-
I don't know if I will spend any crystals before the unity changeover bc a. there will be huge changes so making m4 might be a waste b. we can expect incentive discounts when the unity game is launched c. there are new turrets coming
-
Talk to CTBPO and Maddog the mod. They each have some years on them. They, and others, make great additions to the mix. Incidentally, a Russian colleague told me that TO is well known to be popular with older men who grew up in Soviet Russia. With that in mind I would guess that someone in the Russian community is the record holder right now. Probably just before the wife kicks them out... It's also known as a widow maker!

Have you noticed any covert changes ?
Pistolcc replied to Pistolcc in Have you noticed any covert changes ? Archive
Well my beloved smoky has been tweaked. Tampered with is a better description. I can't flip people like I could and my kills have been greatly reduced. logically that would mean impact force and damage have been softened but there are loads of other changes that could achieve the same effect. i.e. I have been nerfed as of Fri 21 Nov, possibly yesterday but I didn't play. This can't be the only covert turret or hull change. Has anyone else noticed grey parameter changes? -
I have to say we are all here because we love the game, not because we are haters. We have been mis-sold the updates here, which were unnecessary and did not lead to improvements- quite the opposite. The new isida and rail graphics are in fact the same work of photoshop just revealed in different colours and at a divergent scale, length and thickness. That's not really the problem, just that the isida is now a cartoonish toy that fires ectoplasm better suited for a 1970s Ghostbusters movie. The rail, as mentioned above, does not look fast anymore. It hangs and swirls through the air. Suggestion: tone down the isida and save the corkscrew for ricochet while keeping rail as a straight beam of light
-
the rail 'improvement' looks interesting but the isida looks so low-fi. maybe the nano bots should have a wide arc Conclusion: isida looks awful and rail is a corkscrew, which doesn't lend well to the shooting straight concept

keep the 70% sales coming... smoky is already commonplace (as was viking before it's 70% sale)
