Rico m3 or 200k of MUs?
-
First of all, thank you for responding. It really depends on the map. You see a more diverse array of turrets in medium-large maps than smaller ones. But yes, you generally see one of almost every turret in a match. Not so much with hulls though. This is quite a coincidence, because I just came back from testing Smoky-Viking/Hunter from Serpuhov! Hunter was better by a long shot. I can see myself using Hammer, Rico and Rail with Hunter in Poly... They need to get to cover to reload. I also use Smoky-Wasp in Poly all the time now, and it's a lot of fun. I see players saying stuff like, "annoying wasp" in the chat from time to time. :D The drifting is there alright, but it's a lot more controllable than Hornet; you don't drift around corners very far out. The drifting makes driving it a blast; I slide between defenders and speed to my base.

This is gonna be a long post, but bear with me. If you don't want to read the entire post, you can look at the questions which I've highlighted in orange. :) I have been testing all sorts of turret-hull combos this week, and I've come to the realization that I don't enjoy short or long range combat. (Short-) medium (-long) is my prime. I've also realized that I enjoy being on-the-go. So, light and medium hulls are the best. I've listed the turrets and hulls that I've enjoyed using: - Hammer - Wasp - Rico - Hunter - Smoky - Viking (- Rail) Now, Hammer, Smoky, Rico and Rail have many paints that protect against 2 or 3 of them in one paint: - Hohloma - Nano - Savanna (- Raccoon) - Jade - Needle - Tiger (- Clay) Question 1: Should I buy and MU Hammer, Rico, Smoky (and Rail) regardless of the increasing population of protective paints? Now Wasp on anything is very fun in the right hands. These turrets (except Rico) fit very well with it. They also fit very well with medium tanks. Hunter and Viking have very similar stats at m4, and a lot of players go for Viking because it has more health, however little difference it may be. But, does the +30 health of Viking make a significant difference? I compared the number of shots to kill a Hunter vs a Viking with Hammer, Rico, Smoky, Thunder, Rail and Shaft; all m4. (I didn't include Isida, Fire or Freeze because they can kill in one burst, and didn't include Twins or Vulcan, since it is difficult to count the number of shots they make in a battle.) The results were surprising: vs Hammer: Both can be killed in as low as 3 shots vs Rico: Hunter in 9-8 shots, Viking in 10-9 shots vs Smoky: Hunter in 7-6 shots, Viking in 8-6 shots; without criticals vs Thunder: Hunter in 4-3 shots, Viking in 5-3 shots vs Rail: Both in 2-3 shots vs Shaft fully scoped: Both will live from 1 shot vs Shaft arcade mode: Hunter in 5-4 shots, Viking in 5 shots Question 2: Do you think the difference of 1 or 2 shots from certain turrets is enough to go for Viking instead of Hunter? I play on almost every map, always in CTF or CP. You can also look at my profile to see my garage. <-----

What maps do you play?

I assume Maydays will be 25% sale. Which of these options should I do? 1. Buy Hammer and very few MUs 2. Buy a paint and very few MUs (the paint I will buy is discussed below) 3. Spend the approximate 200k on MUs I need a Hammer and Vulcan paint; can't decide between Raccoon and Africa. They have very similar %s for Hammer and Vulcan, so it's the other %s that's gonna make or break it. Raccoon: Both Isida and Rail is found almost in every match. Doesn't matter the map size; there's always an Isida and/or Rail. Africa: Twins and Thunder is found a lot in Polygon, and some other medium maps. You hardly see a Twins and Thunder together in a small or large map though. I plan to MU 3 turrets and 3 hulls: Hammer, Smoky, Shaft, Wasp, Viking and Titan. I have 20 on Smoky, 10 on Viking, and 17 on Titan already. I only play CTF and CP (unless I have a mission), on all sorts of maps. Having a paint dedicated for "only Polygon" will not benefit me a lot, I need to have some diversity in my paint selection. That is why Raccoon is more appealing to me than Africa, since you dont see a lot of Thunder-Twins combos outside of Polygon. I personally am thinking of going option 2 and getting Raccoon, but I would like your opinions. Remember: Tanki B-Day will have a larger sale. ;)

Wrong. Wait 2 weeks and they'll announce "it" on the vlog.

My thoughts exactly. Now the next question is is it a smart idea to MU Hammer along with my Smoky?
-
Which is best on Wasp? Fire, Freeze, Isida or Hammer?

doesnt answer my question, but yes i agree

with wasp, you still need some range so that you can back away from enemies, for example those stupid isida vikings. Smoky wasp is beast, and i tried m2 hammer and wasp; both great. Ill try isida wasp, but i highly doubt itll be effective. Im ruling out freeze and twins. Still iffy with fire... Ill try isida, but ill rule it out too if it doesnt fit with wasp. Itll fit with viking for sure, but i want turrets that will fit at least 2 or 3 of: wasp, viking and titan. Fire is good, but you have to get very close, and i like my personal space. :p That leaves hammer. But ill be screwed with tigers and nanos because smoky and hammer will be my only offensive turrets. Is muing smoky and hammer a good idea?!

Only one response? :(

OMG guys... This really isn't hard to understand... -.- 1 23 Between the lines represent the anticheat zone. 1. If you are above it (on the upper level) you can shoot without SDing. 2. If you are in it (in mid air) you will SD if you shoot (depending on the turret you're using, but just don't do it.) 3. If you are below it (on the lower level) you can shoot without SDing.

Ok to make things clearer: I want to MU 3 turrets (short, medium, long) that will: - make it hard for people to protect against 2 or all 3 turrets in 1 paint - be compatible with wasp, viking, titan (when possible) I will MU Smoky and Shaft. Im not sure with the short range turret. The candidates are: - Isida - Fire - Freeze - Twins - Hammer Isida is OP, but not very fun to use, and its hard to aim with it using Wasp when being fired upon. Fire is great, but when using wasp, you want to avoid taking damage. You need to get up close, and hit and runs have a low survival chance for the attacker... Freeze is better, because you slow the enemy, and they wont be able to hit you. Great for objective games (which i always play). Twins is great, but its boring, and annoyingly loud. Doesnt fit with wasp. Hammer is great from what ive seen. I dont have it yet, but i think itll be a good investment cause it has recoil if you flip with wasp. Compatibility-wise, Freeze, Fire and Hammer are the best. But, there are a lot of paints that protect against these AND my smoky and shaft (eg. Zeus, Tiger, Picasso). Which of these 3 (Freeze, Fire, Hammer) should i get?
-
I want to be able to use wasp, and its hard to aim with isidas low cone angle while being fired upon.
-
Rail>shaft. Savanna.
-
What do you think are the top 5 common paints amoung m3s? I think prodigi, africa, emerald, zeus and tiger.
-
Is MUing smoky AND hammer a bad idea? Tiger and Nano is pretty common, and if Theres a team full of them id be screwed in small maps with shaft...
-
maybe recoil weapons are better cause wasp flips easily. My list is smoky, hammer, thunder, freeze, fire. I dont have all those turrets so i would like to know how effective they are from someone who does.
