Yeah, so far, except for 1 or 2 occassions every time my turret has looked up or down automatically I've been quick enough to realise it. It's not right that this bug hasn't been eliminated till now. I've expected better from Tanki. Probably the reason why things seem so quiet may be because they're working on several things at a time before releasing a new V-log?

Noticed any fly hackers recently?

It's been quite a while since I saw the last fly hacker in a match. Have Tankis devs squashed that problem? -
Turret: Shaft Hull: Hunter Paint: Needle, Winter or Jade, depending on the environment. Yes, all are anti-Shaft paints:P

I feel that with the recent Shaft update that increases damage in arcade mode, the turret has a lot more flexibility at close range. It's easier now to face off with quick firing turrets like Smoky and Rico and also has helped me countless times against point blank encounters with Railguns, as long as my movements are timed well enough to evade a second hit. It just takes around 3 hits max to finish off a Hornet. I have to say, it's fun fooling Railgunners in such "personal" situations. Those are my second favourite moments. First favourite is dealing with enemy Shafts:D

A shaft duo would be really cool in a team, as long as they coordinate together. Being a Hornet user, it doesn't matter if you have a stable hull or not. The fact that you have to adapt matters. I use Hornet because it helps me get out of bad situations on time. Only lag, bad timing(which is mostly due to lag) and being sloppy gets me taken out, but otherwise Hornets speed and a worthy Shaft paint like Dirty or Winter have protected me from a lot of hard hits. Thanks to the Winter paint, my M2 Hornet is a somewhat near equivalent to an M2 Hunter. Light hulls are weak, but fast. Medium and heavy tanks are strong, but slower. Looking at and exploiting the positives of the hull you use is what keeps you alive. I'm not one for heavier hulls because I don't restrict myself to defense. I only attack if the base is safe to leave, otherwise I hang back as a final stand for defense. It's good that you kept the game going. I would've given up if the score seemed beyond salvaging and if my team disappeared.

Good job with this man. It's a long article and you seem to have put effort into it:) I believe that a camper is one who just stays in one specific part of the map generally for a long time, and doesn't move around much and also has poor awareness of his surroundings. Still, as you say, everyone has their own definition.

I disagree, unless you're below the slope. That's the only position where a Mammoth can escape once it fires a shot. Otherwise, although they're tough to take out, they are easy targets and I've seen many Mammoths get taken out straight away, unless they resort to heavy drugging. In short, they're sitting ducks, specially when you got so many Railguns and Shafts onto you. A lot of players get beaten hard when they choose this combo, specially at Monte Carlo. Very few can adapt to the map's tough conditions, like one defender I recall in a recent Monte Carlo game who saved 2 flags as a Mammoth Shaft, single handedly, when I was either taken down or not in position to help defend. Mammoth and Twins is much more and extremely effective in almost any map. A Mammoth can just sit on the flag and throw nearby enemy tanks off their aim. When there's good cover while defending, Mammoth Isida or Firebird is a good choice too. A lot of Mammoth Shafters think they can get away with shot from a Shaft, but they're either too slow to react or they just noobishly sit and wait to get thrashed.

Yes, it reduces the damage dealt. In your words, reduces the amount a weapon will inflict. I used to think the armor would improve initially but after giving it some thought I realised it would reduce the effect of turrets against the tank
-
Yup, because your team deserves the help they need if they play so well:)

Played another 30 minute Monte Carlo match today. Score was still 0-0 and there were around 20 minutes left. I took a look at the scorecard and I see it's only 4 of my team versus 8 of the enemy. I thought we were damned but I also realised something surprising - my team was attacking so well that it looked like the teams were almost even. And yes, the other team had some good players and they were attacking as well, but they missed a few good chances everytime they took me out, since I was the only defense. Soon a Mammoth Shaft joined us and he defended really damn well, even did a shocking save on our flag, something even I with my Hornet wouldn't have had time to do. Normally a lot of less skilled players use a combo as I've noticed about 90% of the time, but this guy was phenomenal. Never seen a more alert player with Mammoth Shaft. We went down 1-0 somewhere in between, although the score could have gone beyond 5-0. Around 10 minutes to go, and more people joined our team, and we won! I've never felt more happier to have helped hold down the base while outnumbered

Light tanks will still be useful in Deathmatch for big maps, where they can move about a little freely, as long as there's good cover. Speaking of which, I've not tried out a Deathmatch in a looooooong time. CTF is quite fun since you got a choice of roles to play depending on how your team works. Not saying Deathmatch isn't fun, it does require a lot of strategy to get to the top, and proper equipment I should've considered upgrading my Mammoth at least during the sale, in case I try out a Deathmatch event sometime. The only upgraded hull in my garage is the Hornet, because I play too much CTF
-
Well, I do suppose Mammoths and Titans are most useful in a Deathmatch at higher ranks since lighter tanks won't be useful because you will run into trouble wherever you are. Awesome score for your rank in such a case, I must say!

Woah, so you never left the forum after all. Was wondering where you went all this time. And now I do remember haha. Scared the crap out of me!;) Becasue they think Shafts are supposed to do nothing but sit in one corner and snipe, and they think that's as far as pro a Shafter can get. Nuts they are! Oh, and it's very odd to notice that there are still a lot of Shaft players at our high ranks who still hold the space button and shoot their targets rather than be aware of their environment and adapt, like those who camp in just one or two obvious spots and know they'll get thrashed, but they still do it. Rather insulting to the turret and disappointing I must say
-
You did? I don't recall. When was this?

I'd love to go on a 1vs1, but I got my end semester exams at the moment. Studying engineering is rather unforgiving, specially in the second year. Thanks by the way:) Haha thanks brother, will do with pleasure;) This, this is very true. Believe me, arcade mode has saved me many times while going head to head with long and mid-ranged guns at point blank range.

Winter, Shaft M2, Hornet M2. I've finally reached this moment!! M1 shafts have no power against me now!
-
Viking, it goes best with all the three turrets. If I would use Dictator, it would be for Rail or Shaft. Also Viking protection is close to Dictator and its faster
-
Not if you know how to utilise it. Even in small maps you can make a difference if you're good enough.

Some people fail to understand why we work on the game. It's important for a Shaft to stay put on defense especially when there's a lack of defenders. Being a Hornet, I do use my Shaft to attack as well, but I first consider the situation my team is in. A lot of tankers just want the points rather than teamwork, and then they get mad because no one is helping them, or someone who helped them didn't give them the flag back. Team matters first, only then you get those crystals. When it comes to choosing which shaft to take out first, especially when defendind, I just sit very close to the slope towards the edge of the map. The only tankers from the other end who can see me are the ones near their flag in that case. Till I feel comfortable that the Shafters and Railgunners at the flag are clear(since they can get easy shots at me), I stay put. Once that area's clear I move on to clear the remaining Shafts and Railguns in other parts of the map. And then you got to make sure none of those light hulls gets over on our side by blocking their way. Hornets are easy, even when they're fully drugged but Wasps have gotten too fast. I had to consider body slamming one Wasp in order to prevent it from getting over, even if it meant self destructing. In other news, took advantage of the sale and got the Winter paint today. I used it in Polygon so I only encountered one M2 Shaft, so I didnt get to try it out that well yet, but I did get to catch a gold and piss off one Railgunner who tried to get rid of me so he could get it(he didn't and I ended up above him, clear enough to get the gold). Mean people don't always succeed, and he got what he needed best, i.e- NOTHING! And I still have to get that M2 Shaft too. I can't wait!!!

I just helped save a Monte Carlo game today(won 3-2). Racked up the highest points in the game out of frustration due to 4 shafts on the enemy team and one on my team besides me, and also out of desperation to win because we were initially losing 0-2 and were getting the match back on our side. Was a 30 minute game so we could take our time as well. All thanks to the attacking Isidas on my team. It's very hard to find an Isida that not only heals but is capable of effectively attacking as well. All I had to do was clear the way and get the flags home when the flag holder was taken down in two situations. Best of all, everyone was cooperating:)

I'm waiting for Tanki's birthday now. Once that comes by I'll get my m2 shaft. No more struggling with defense, although I've learnt to think better using an m1 against tougher opponents like m2 vikings and hunters
-
Jade is cool. I think, once I get that paint, I'm going to keep it as my 1st choice paint for battles
-
The reload is good enough to keep the turret balanced I believe. A little extra would make it a tad bit too strong Only if you're playing with an experienced Shafter No
-
Thanks for the reply mate! I can take the wait till June in that case. Till then, I stick to my M1 Shaft. I still tend to reach the top areas of the table when I'm on full offensive, or even at times when I'm defending. I agree. I'm a keyboard guy and will stay that way. The keyboard is the traditional instrument of the game and they HAVE to fix it. It's sad that they haven't addressed this problem in V-LOGS and fixed it sooner. Let's hope this bug ends fast.
