This is not a problem. It happens when the player gets disconnected suddenly. He won't be online in your friend list or in game, but his name will stay in the battle for 5 minutes (after disconnecting), giving him a chance to join back within the time. The name will be removed from the battle list after 5 minutes.

"Ghosting" is the problem that some keyboard keys don't work when multiple keys are pressed simultaneously. The key presses that don't show up on the computer or seem to have disappeared are said to have been "ghosted".
