Well, I think this quote from a Reddit post perfectly sums up how I felt about the ending. Spoiler Alert for anyone who's considering to watch it I am aware though that all of this happened because of a lot of production issues regarding the Anime vs the Manga, it's unfortunate that the anime wasn't able to become what it could have been, but I still enjoyed watching it.

I just finished watching Darling In The Franxx :') Amazing futuristic themed series that takes place in a dystopia with huge plot twists, definitely recommend it.
