Another celebration filled with craziness is behind us and so it´s time to look back on the event itself. Last year, Tanki came up with an interesting idea of gold boxes that varied in value. Since a quality time of first April can not lack on foolishness, there was a chance that you will grab not just amazing gold boxes with over two, three or more than four thousand crystals, but even unsatisfying gold boxes that were hardly worth of that one double armour and repair kit you spent in hunt for it. A year passed and some of us have been asking themselves if there is any chance that Tanki will come with another new, completely original idea for this rather controversial celebration. Little did we know that developers still got some tricks up their sleeves when it comes to promotions. But without more introductory blah-blahs that are already way too long, lets skip to all the goodies Tanki prepared for this celebration. Micro-upgrades sale After the foreword, you are probably tuned for the gold box theme, but firstly let´s take a look on the single sale that was up for the whole three days. Usually, the difference between one or another micro-upgrade sale lies in the percentages. This time it was a tad different. If you were new to micro-upgrade scene with zero MUs on your equipment, you had the unique chance of raising the power of your armature by few steps for really laughable amount of crystals. The very first step was free, while the following step offered 5% less discount then his predecessor. Minimum discount was set to 20 %. After micro-upgrading sixteenth step, every other step from this point was discounted with same 20 %. Here is the chart for better illustration: Those who already micro-upgraded more than seventeen steps and wanted to continue on their road to „M4“ might have been disappointed by the low discount. After twenty steps you really need those 40-50 % MU sales. Any lower discount will most likely shatter that fully stocked crystal piggy bank as well as your hopes for purchasing additional equipment. On the other hand, buying ten to fifteen steps, quite cheap is not that bad, it sure creates some space to invest in things that have been slowly falling into oblivion in your garage. Gold boxes Now to the most interesting subject of the celebration, which gold boxes undoubtedly were. First big surprise bomb that pleased the heart of every gold hunter, was the increase in drop chance from usual 1/ 10 000 to 1/ 2 000. In other words the chance that gold box will drop raised five times! Besides, this year was rich in the variety of gold boxes in single celebration. In general, these various Fool days gold boxes can be divided on two types: Non-crystal boxes Crystals boxes Non-crystal boxes You expected some crystals after a tough fight for that gold beauty? Foolish you! They were absent in many clown-headed boxes. Even though, you have not gained any shiny crystals, these boxes unpacked interesting content. Right off the bat, I must mention, the one and only - M-M-M-Monster kill. N-N-N-Nothing I-I-I-Is M-M-M-More A-A-A-Annoying T–T-T-Than C-C-C-Capturing M-M-M-M-Monster K-K-K-Kill G-G-G-Gold B-B-B-Box W-W-W-When N-N-N-No O-O-O-One´s A-A-A-Around. Monster kill boxes simply destroyed everyone near you (including yourself) whether the tanker was your teammate or enemy. In crammed maps like Polygon, where most players ended up finding the drop zone, you could sign a decent number of kills to your account, but if you were lucky like me you just opened an empty box. Although, the idea behind it was excellent. Truly a gold box worth of all fools day celebration. In the end, if you missed Monster kill box, your failed attempt was all more bearable. Another gold box was probably inspired by continually examined mystery of GodMode_On. This particular one enabled you to wreak havoc upon your helpless enemy that was unable to damage you for one minute. However, I wouldn´t consider this gold box very profitable, you could still achieve a decent score while using that one minute effectively. Within the reach was also a partial immortality in the form of gold box that blessed you with five minutes of all supplies activated. Enemies could of course destroy you, but you were a hard nut to crack with all three supplies activated. Those five minutes sure helped with building up the score and thereafter your crystal reward. The supply box was not that lucrative as crystal boxes, but I think it was by far better option than Monster kill. From gold boxes that did not offer any crystal value, Premium boxes were the top ones to grab. One, two or three days of Premium secured you double increase in experience and crystals as well as free access to PRO format battles. Those of you who were active enough, definitely made more crystals due to benefits of Premium, than they would by catching one of those five or ten thousand crystal gold boxes. Crystal boxes And now to those crystal ones, which warm the heart of tankers the most. Especially the chance that you will capture gold box with astronomical crystal values caused some funny moments. Blinded by the chance of gorgeous 50k crystals, many followed the prevailing trend. When equipment of total strangers matches this way, it must be sign of the celebration with incredible gold boxes. Back to gold boxes. First in the line was a normal one thousand crystal box, that could first look uninviting compared to other crystal boxes with sky-high value. After a dozen of monster kills, even these thousand boxes gained on charm. Away from classic one thousand box, many tankers tried out the feeling of GodMode_On (once again), when their booty brought along another two classic gold boxes. If you observed the notification and even captured this gold, you can now proudly shout that you „legaly“ hacked the gold box. Moving to some high numbers, really occasionally we were lucky to touch and experience the joy of 5000 and 10 000 gold boxes. This is what we came for to those Polygon CPs and Noise CTFs. Even with miserable chance to see one, I can say I belong to that luckier group of tankers who captured at least one. How about you? Grand prize for the last! After the recent V-log, we know that only 44 tankers were able to catch 50 000 gold box. I ran out of luck and did not even get close to 50 000 crystal box.On the other hand, I am kind of happy about it. Just think of the frustration when you miss this gold box by inches! If you were not lucky enough, join my club of 50k hunt failures, we will quietly envy the fortune of chosen ones. But, enough of me talking. I was not the only tanker out there hunting for the mysterious gold boxes. Instead, focus on players who were willing to share their impressions on celebrations. Hello there everyone! So tell us, have you enjoyed your Tanki fool days celebration? Had Tanki surprised you? What was the thing you were really looking forward to? @emrakul: Of course, I enjoyed it :D. I think, it was even better than Halloween event. I was looking forward to catching at least one 50k gold (as everyone else). @Darren4Turbo: Yes, I enjoyed. Tanki has really surprised me, I thought that there will be just a 25% sale but there was a very cool MU sale, gold box rain and different types of gold box rewards. Sadly, I wanted a holiday paint, or maybe a 10% sale at least, hehe. The best thing was the gold box rain; caught 7 of them though. @lukey0: The April Fools Day celebrations were very nice, much better than any previous year. The random Gold Boxes which were either crystals, premium, supplies, immortality or a bomb were a great idea which I really enjoyed. Tanki really surprised me with the celebrations. I thought 2016 April Fools would be the same as 2015 April Fools, but with either an increase or decrease in the maximum value of the Gold Box. I was just looking forward to taking many Gold Boxes that weekend. Gold boxes can be considered the biggest allurement of this celebration. Have you been hunting for them? What you consider to be your best catch? Share the number of gold boxes you caught. @emrakul: I was "Gold hunting" all 3 days, trying to achieve top 100 in the ratings. I was enjoying gold box rain and trying to take as many as possible. I was mainly on my lower account, and took a total of 84 or 85 gold boxes. I have missed all 5k ones, but managed to take an incredibly high number of M-M-M-MONSTER KILLS. I remember taking 4 monster kills in a row (4 from 4 taken and all were these trolls). I had more great catches, but two 10k in less than one minute turned out to be the most surprising. I still can't believe I did it. @Darren4Turbo: I was hunting for them like a little cockroach. I think all of my catches were normal 'cause I was caught all of the gold boxes while playing with my friend in a private battle and he gave me some and I gave him some too without any pro catches. I caught 7 gold boxes, that is very low compared to my other friends. @lukey0: I've been hunting Gold Box's for a long time in Tanki. Almost from the first time I learnt of them I hunted them. From them falling at 700 fund, to Gold box will be dropped soon, I've always been catching them. Throughout the April Fools celebrations I didn't really have any catch that really stood out. This is probably because most were caught in Polygon. :lol: Though most included flipping, side flipping, back flips, you get it. :P Hammer causes a lot of flips. I took a total of 28 April Fools Golds. IMO its a decent amount, for the time I played. However, celebration was not just about gold boxes. Micro-upgrade sale was up for the whole three days. This time the system was a bit different. Have you MUd anything? Do you think it was a good sale? Have you been satisfied with the system? @emrakul: At first the 100% discount was unbelievable, but I knew, that it's not much better than plain 50% one. I upgraded few paints (1 or 2 upgrades each) and also few other turrets/hulls. Of course I bought every free upgrade :D On low account I upgraded hammer 10 times. this sale was great for "MU haters", which uprage just 4 or 5 times, so they had very high discounts. In conclusion, it was of the better sales. @Darren4Turbo: No, I didn't MU anything. I'm now saving crystals for an M3 turret or hull. Yeah, the sale was pretty awesome. I was satisfied, and I as told you, I was mostly satisfied with the gold boxes. @lukey0: All my equipment has MU's on it, and I have 3 M4's, working on my 4th. The sale was ok, but it didn't help me any, the prices were still really high, and the 20% felt like 0% so I didn't MU anything this time. The MU sale was mainly for those that have very little MU's on their equipment. Fingers crossed Tanki's B-Day will hold a better MU sale. I want my Thunder close to M4. Lastly, can you share your views, was the celebration good, was it not? Did you have fun or end up trolled too much? @emrakul: This celebration was surprisingly better than expected, it was probably the best gold box event ever alongside with awesome sale. The biggest surprise for me were "hacked gold boxes", which turned out to be the funniest. I have made few mistakes, like not playing in no-supplies battles when I had premium to avoid godmode golds and supply one, but after all I enjoyed it. @Darren4Turbo: It was excellent. I would rate it 5 / 5. I was trolling some of my friends in TO and even my father and they all believed, heh. @lukey0: Overall the celebration was excellent. I'd give it a 9/10. For it not being a main celebrated event in Tanki it turn-out to be a really good 3 days. Yes, I did have fun, but I also got trolled a few times. (Or is that what I want you to think?! Hello there players. Welcome to my writing creativity page, where you will hopefully find interesting articles to zoom your eyes on. I´ll do my best to provide you something worth of reading every month. My main focus are themes primary related to Tanki Online. If you are interested in this sort of writings, wait no longer and proceed down below to read the recent article. Enjoy!

Congrats to all winners, amazing breath-taking creations. Once again it was proved that there are many talented players in Tanki. I loved Devil74´s the most.

Funny. I though I´ll be the one posting on my friends good bye topics. I thought I would play Tanki for so long that I will eventually forget all the names of my original friends that left the game long before me. But, I guess life does not always go the way we would like to. This time it is me constructing one, hoping to get the most „see ya tomorrow messages“. Naaaah, jk. I really want to say goodbye to my friends, to community, to TO. Those two or three years I played were truly amazing. I haven´t achieved all my goals, but there comes the time when you got to go. There are two main reasons behind my departure. Firstly, It´s just not the same. To explain it further - I remember that time when I joined Tanki following the steps of my younger brother. I did not expect much from it (let´s be honest, Flash is pretty limited), but I was stunned afterwards. I really enjoyed the simplistic tanks, the modes, easy control – the game itself. The more I was surprised, when my brother left TO after reaching the final rank. Like c´mon, you unlocked everything and now you´re leaving? But here I am and I must say I completely understand him. For some months now, I don´t feel the same. I am catching a decent number of Gold boxes, earning tons of crystals, assembling my garage, but I am missing something – joy. Tanki somehow lost the ability to entertain me. Maybe I progressed too quickly, idk, I just know I can not continue this way anymore. Before I continue to second reason, let me remind you it is just my opinion, this is how I feel and if you don´t agree with me, I accept the difference in opinion. I really don´t wish to start a war around this topic. The second reason is that I think that Tanki is not balanced enough. The gaps in power are, in my humble opinion, way too big. Supplies, microupgrades, raiders that will mult your battles plus countless other violations that just make me sick. From some point I don´t see any other option than playing pro battles, and even that becomes boring after a while. I guess anger and disappointment that borders with disgust replaced the joy I felt some time ago. Thus, I will rather leave now, while the good memories exceed those bad ones. However, I would like to end this with something positively-attuned. I want to thank Tanki Online, for those great gaming moments, I really enjoyed most of my time spent here and even though things recently changed for me, I still wish you all the best, may Tanki X be a great successful project. I would also like to thank my friends, I was not a close friend of anyone, or at least I think so, yet with some of you I experienced a really great battles and had some great talk. I will not name anyone (they know :P ), so good luck fellows, in Tanki as well as outside it. Joining the generalissimo ranks is one of the main objectives of most Tanki players. This aim is associated with the process of collecting a tremendous amount of experience points by means of capturing flags or control points, destroying enemy tankers or on the contrary, healing your damaged teammates. Many have failed to even come close to the gates of final rank. In the end, their failure is not so astonishing. Once you kick-start the engines as a newbie Recruit, you must jam the rank bar with an astounding 1.4 million of experience points. Hopefully, most of you will target to surmount all thirty ranks and reach a grand finale. And so, as one of the „gizmos“, let me present you my views as well as offer you some advice related to this fabled rank. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Long road Are you up for some lengthy precarious trip? Then try to become a generalissimo. With every rank you must gain more and more experience points which demand hours and hours of gaming. You know the saying; „Rome was not built in a day.“, I think it perfectly fits this case. Tanki Online is not that typical Miniclip flash game that you beat in an hour and then post your final score in the table. It is far more complex game that requires player´s dedication. If you are aiming to surpass the final rank you must be persistent. Keep in mind that achieving the final rank is a long-distance race. Distribute your advancement on smaller goals, once you successfully carry them out, define new ones. Lastly don´t hurry things up as every rank offers its own unique gameplay, try to enjoy the game itself on your road and work forwards to the finish at your own pace. Opening the final doors – rank up So you finally packed all those points in the slim upper bar. Weeks, months or even years passed, number of tank silhouettes and hopeless attempts to capture the flag are hardly countable. Just a snippet of your rank bar is lacking the dark green coloring and ideas of how your final Commander hours should be concluded are popping and floating in the dark depths of your mind. In the quite short time span of serious decision-making, you resolve it is time to terminate your ranking career. This whole ceremonial of growing into new generalissimo is commonly finalized with so-called „rank up party“. Final rank up party is substantial starting line for your generalissimo journey. It is a precious unrepeatable moment, when you in the company of other players reach the ultimate goal. Organizing a rank up party can be difficult. You must assemble groups of players you can completely trust will do exactly what you ask them for and also posses thoughtful plan or idea. Organizing skills and communication are also necessary. Even though it´s plenty of work, the final effect is grandiose. I advise you to organize one on your own, at least when it comes to the final rank up. It is far better to commemorate a splendid party time, rather than the simplistic picture of ranking while shooting someone down. Ascending refulgence that announces to the world that you turned to full-fledged tanker is, in the end, once-in-a-blue-moon event, so make it count. The gameplay Having finished the rank up, you are straightway thrown into the boisterous carousel of top-level gameplay. Every new rank chapter is linked to an exponential increase in the difficulty. By acquiring the last rank, you reached the highest peak - there´s no going back, you are destined to fight other generalissimo. One screenshot will not make the whole picture (who never tries, will never know). Being a generalissimo player brings some changes to the gameplay. Firstly you are now able to purchase all the equipment, which means you can enjoy and try out every garage component in the game. Secondly the battling becomes extremely intense. Top ranked players are behind every corner, supplies are burnt constantly, and even the slightest mistake is terribly blamed. On this rank tankers quickly observe the visible gap in power. It becomes pretty hard to face veterans moving around. Especially the free users will soon undergo a battle examination that will show them the difference in equipment power, supply reservoir and garage variety. Bear in mind that most generalissimo players are already months or even years ahead of you. It is apparent their M3 Smoky shots are doing more damage than your M3 Smoky due to heavy micro-upgraded parameters, not to mention the diverse palette of protection paints and the variety of hulls and turrets they collected in time and can freely alternate anytime. For this reason, it is immensely important to pick your battles carefully in your first generalissimo days. I wrote up some basic tips that you should keep in view, until you acquire more power in the garage. Tip #1 Choose the right side. As a novice on this rank you probably absent the garage variety or micro-upgraded stuff. Preferably join a team that will be able to support you and will help you to stand your ground in the fight against more powerful enemy. You have my sincerest respect if you will join the losing side, but if your attempts to change the course of battle misfires every single time, reorient yourself on stronger generalissimo-consisting teams for your own sake. Tip #2 Play Pro battles. The biggest benefit that PRO battle pass can offer you is the ability of customization. If you feel uncomfortable facing micro-upgraded and supply unlimited foes, you can buy a PRO battle pass and create battles with disabled supply usage as well as micro-upgrades. This is the way to neutralize the advantages your enemies would normally possess. The outcome will solely depend on individual skill and/or teamwork. Tip#3 Re-evaluate your purchase objectives The way you spend crystals directly affects the results in battle, make sure you progress accurately. Free users should definitely think twice what and when will they purchase in particular. PRO pass allows the user to customize, but many pro battles on server have enabled micro-upgrades. Thus, my hint is to stick to short scale of favorite turrets and hulls and micro-upgrade those first. The difference between a regular M3 and micro-upgraded M3 is huge and it is in your best interest to catch up with the rest of the pack. Also I advise you to pick M3s (future M4s) that are hard to cover by one protective paint (Firebird and Railgun, Twins and Smoky, etc.). Last but not least, even though I hate to promote supplies in any way, if you choose to play in normal battles, buying a supply kit is almost a MUST! Be sure to have spare 100k crystals in the pocket, otherwise you´re asking for some major beating. Setting new goals and reviewing the opportunities By completing the main goal, you enclosed one long chapter. But the whole story is still unwritten. After bridging so many ranks the gameplay might get a bit boring. Gaining more experience points becomes pointless and even another gold box trophy does not bring the same euphoria as the very first one. Most of the tankers face the new traitorous enemy – the burnout syndrome. I am positive there comes the time when everyone just wishes to sign off and never get back, because there´s seemingly nothing else to return for. However, you should look back for things and opportunities you might have skipped on your way to final rank. There is so much more that Tanki can offer with plenty of room for experimenting - becoming a parkour master, joining the helper team, starting a YouTube career or trying out your luck in clans - those are just a few openings to be mentioned. Although, these opportunities are not reserved for generalissimo rank only, they will be worth of second considerations, when the game itself turns stiff on this rank. Transform these opportunities to new goals. Whether you will choose gaming goals (e.g. M4 garage completion) or you will try something a bit different oriented you may obtain some irredeemable experience - maybe your editing skills improve, or you increase the quality of your communication skills. Though it does not seem like it, there are still some valuable things worth trying, even after reaching the generalissimo rank. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ That´s all folks.
