Once upon a time, there was a brand new company that created play parks. They decided to set up their first play park in a city full of many other play parks. Because of all the competition, they realized they would need an interesting and novel format that would attract kids from all across the city. The company hired all kinds of intelligent people to being the creation of the park. When it was finally opened, children flocked from all over town to visit the park. No entrance fee was required- however, one could only play at the park for a few hours before a small payment was required. The play park wasn't made of the highest quality material, and it didn't have the aesthetic flare of other parks, but its intriguing design was one of a kind. The monkey bars were just the right height and length, there were exactly the right number of swings, and the large curvy slide was extremely entertaining. From day one, the company drew in an unprecedented amount of revenue, and soon hundreds of kids visited the park every day. Of course, there were still a few problems with the park- the equipment would break, and kids would get hurt every now and then. But the intelligent design of the park kept it going. Eventually, the park owners decided that they needed to expand. They acquired the plots of land next to the current park, and set up new equipment. This was all well and good, but many of the park's visitors felt that the new expansion lacked the creative vision of the original. Nevertheless, the park continued to gain popularity. Children of all ages and types would spend hours playing in the park. The park owners decided they needed to introduce one major update to the park. They needed to stun everyone, or the park's popularity bubble might crash. Looking around at the other huge, beautiful parks, the owners decided they would re-make the entire park, with the highest quality material. The park employees told the park visitors of the upcoming update, and everyone was excited. However, the builders who would rebuild the park took a very long time. Month after month passed after the original deadline, and the park owners decided that they needed to change the plan. Unfortunately, they failed to appreciate the true reason why the children liked the park: It's originality. The park owners planned to tear down the old park, and set up an entirely new park with a similar but different design. And that they did. When the new park was introduced, some children were elated, and some were horrified. Many children flocked to the new park at the beginning, if anything just to gawk at the changes. The park owners were very enthusiastic about this popularity. However, the park's attention began to wane. Overall, the children were not impressed with the changes to the park, and they began to play elsewhere. The park was still very popular, and this popularity was still increasing. The children that liked the park invited their friends, and a chain reaction began. But, the park's revenue definitely wasn't increasing. The park was much bigger and with many more employees than they began with, and they realized that an economic emergency might be looming in the future. Thus, the park owners increased the fees and decreased the amount of time one could play in the park without paying. Less children entered the park because of this, but the revenue was definitely increased. The park makers still felt like they needed to stun the children in order to bring back the glory days. They planned the introduction of an entirely new park, just across the road. Perhaps if they created a brand new park separate from the original, popularity would increase. They planned for this park to be introduced in a year's time. Meanwhile, they shuffled through more and more employees. At some point, the park makers stopped caring about the quality of the old park. After all, the old park wouldn't matter all that much when the new park was introduced. The only thing the park owners really cared about was their profit. What they didn't realize was that the children were more perceptive than at first glance. They realized the greed and plots of the park makers, and they complained. The employees laughed it off, they were only children. The park makers continued to increase the fees required to play at the park. A year or so passed, and the deadline had been reached. Still, the new park was not opened. The park owners were once again running low on money, so they decided to make a few features of the park only accessible by paying customers. A huge slide in the middle of the park was only available to those with a special ticked that costed money. The children hated this new update, and dozens stopped playing in the park altogether. The park owners continued to tell the children that all the problems would be solved in the new park. However, they refused to say if the new park would be as free as the first one. In fact, they refused to say almost anything about the new park. More and more children dropped out, and the fees rose sky high. The park makers blamed this incident on the changing demographic of the city. The children who had initially played at the park were now older and no longer wished to play at parks, and that is why less people visited the parks. This was partially true, but not entirely. Finally, almost two years late, the new park was created. A massive wall was set up around it, and the park makers only let a select handful of "testers" enter the park for the first time. Strangely, these "testers" appeared to be completely random people- the only common factor is that almost none of them had experience in the first park. This was purposeful. The developers wanted an entirely new and unbiased player base to enter the new park. They would try to keep the old park open, and keep the original group of kids in this old park. They did not want the old, committed players to "test" the new park, because they were worried they would lose customers from the old park, and thus lose revenue. They didn't tell any of the customers- they were just kids, of course. In fact, the company split itself into two pieces- the old park, and the new park. The employees would be completely separate from one another. This divide in communication was disastrous. No one knew what was going on, and there was absolutely no organization. Finally, the new park was opened to the public. It was good in the beginning, but soon everything dissolved into chaos. The park management was completely naive. None of their goals were accomplished in the end, and eventually almost all employees were laid off. For the next three or four years, the park continued to run. But the material was old, and the park was extremely unpopular. Eventually, the park declared bankruptcy. The park was torn down and the parts sold as scrap metal. The land was confiscated and eventually sold to a neighboring apartment complex. The park was over. Oh, and this park was called "Tanky". The end.

What if instead of crystal boxes being +10 crystals, they were -10 crystals, so people tried to avoid them? ;) :P .

No, this is how he did it (im guessing): He went to settings, and turned the skybox off. Then he took a screenshot of that picture. He put the picture in gimp, or some other photo editing program, and he changed the dark green-brown background of the empty sky box into a background that he created, using the alpha channel and stuff.

Ultimate battle, this was before crystal boxes were removed so I would have earned a much higher battlefund now a days. I caught a gold box in it also.

Reasons why Tanki got worse (not as a game, but because of the bad updates devs put in)

Drugging is entirely unethical. I will probably right an entire article about it later. But, have you ever been on the test server? Everyone drugs. And it sucks. If you can't universalize the action of drugging, it is not ever good. But you are correct, in that drugs will never ever be removed from the game. And you also are probably correct in saying that they have drugs to earn money. But I don't think that tanki online is that poor, and I doubt that most of their money comes from people buying drugs. Why do you think tanki online gives you drugs in daily bonuses, or has them fall from the sky? Perhaps it is to let you experience what having drugs is like, so you want to buy them Who knows. But I am all for utterly removing drugs from the game, and it is an incredibly bad idea to add another drug. On one of my main accounts, I have three thousand of each supply, and I have never bought drugs. I also never use drugs, because that would be hypocrytical. I think that most druggers are losers, and I am not afraid to say so. If you are good at the game, you won't drug. If you drug frequently, you are automatically bad at the game.

Advantages of Low-Rankedness
RIPcrystalboxes replied to RIPcrystalboxes in Advantages of Low-Rankedness Archive
Greetings! This is the amazingly confusing, bewildering, enigmatic, paradoxical, nonsensical, and ingenious RIP crystal boxes. I am here to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of being low ranking. 1. Everything is cheaper. You start out with 500 crystals. You get 200 crystals for joining a battle, and 200 crystals for your first purchase. This adds up to 700 free crystals. This may not sound like a lot, but I will explain how it is. An XP combo (railgun/hornet) costs 600 crystals, and you can get it at rank gefreiter, for free and with 100 crystals to spare... An M0 railgun costs 250 crystals. An M3 railgun costs 218, 300 crystals. An M0 Hornet costs 350 crystals, and an M3 Hornet costs 158 300. An M3 XP combo costs 376,600 crystals. Obviously, you earn a lot more crystals in high ranking battles because the battle fund is higher. And also, M3 Railgun and Hornet have better performance than the M0 counterparts, (loading, speed, not to mention looks) but they are also fighting other M3 combos with much higher performances. So, it is relative. Also, some interesting math: 600 = 37600 /6 /6 100 = 62 766 *7 *7 700 = 439 366 /700 /700 1 = 627 So, the free crystals you get at Recruit, are equivalent to 439 366 crystals at M3. And every 'M0 crystal' equals 627 M3 crystals. That is quite a lot. With these 700 free crystals, you can buy any combo available at Gefreiter, and a lot of M0 combos. Also, if 1 crystal equals 627 crystals, is the battlefund at M3 627 times bigger than M0 battle funds? Nope, it is waay less. 2. Everyone else is an *****. Ok, not everyone. But a lot of players start out very i*iotic (myself included). I have seen players who don't know what to do when they get an enemy flag. Almost all of them don't know how to turn their turrets. They are terrible at aiming and driving. So good players who has been playing for a long time have a massive advantage, in that they know what turrets and hulls are good, and they know how to drive and shoot. Whenever I play, I always have D/Ls like 5.00 or more. It is ridiculous how much better I am in low ranking battles than in high ranking battles. At low ranks the most common combo is a twins/ wasp, easily blown to bits by my Railgun. I admit that I am an extreme seal clubber. This reason is fairly self explanatory. 3. Guns preform very similar. On one of my main accounts, I have M2 railgun. I admit, I notice absolutely no difference between it and my M0 railgun on this account, besides looks. It is like this with many turrets, but definitely not all. Probably a lot of people will disagree with me on this. 4. Less druggers/buyers. At low ranks, you receive a very tiny daily bonus. And also you are very new to the game, so you have a much smaller reserve of supplies. Buyers are very rare, since you are so new to the game. I very rarely see druggers at this rank. If there were druggers or buyers, they would rank up much faster, and I wouldn't see them often at low ranks. Disadvantages: 1. People are more mean. At my rank, I see a lot more players on my team, being very jerky. They try to push me off things, knock my shot off, particularly when I have the flag. Also, there are players who think they are good, when they are really bad. This is extremely annoying. A couple minutes ago, I had this shaft ordering us around, when he was on the bottom of the list when you press tab, with 4 times less points than me. 2. No one knows how to play. If you are in a battle, you can receive very little help from your friends, since they don't know how to play. Battles seem to be overpopulated by mults, except for oftentimes they aren't mults, just idiots. (I finally figured out what a mult is!) 3. Less gold boxes! Catching gold boxes is so fun, it is one of the main reasons I play. 4. No clans Virtually no clans will accept you. Other articles by RIP: Funeral for Crystals Mystery of Crystals Stop Complaining! P.S. A gold box to a low ranker is like 627,000 crystals to an M3 tanker.- 32 replies

I am not trying to say that it is extremely hard to shoot a basket, I am just trying to say that it takes a lot more skill to do so than to kick a ball into a goal.

Greetings, this is the amazingly confusing, bewildering, enigmatic, paradoxical, nonsensical, and ingenious RIPcrystalboxes. Anyways, there have been a lot of changes to the game lately, and there are still many more to come. I want to explain somethings that I believe. This game is so diverse. There is the big divide between the Russian and English players. Then, among the english players, there are the bad players and the good players. The bad players only want to drive around and blow people up. They don't care about winning or about D/L. They often times don't seem to think things all the way through (hence all the terrible threads in Ideas and Suggestions) The good players play a battle to the end, trying to win it at all cost. They think a lot. They are the people who right interesting topic and posts on the forum. They are usually the best in a battle, and many other things. Then there are the buyers, the people who think this game is a dating site, and the druggers. All these categories have different opinions on how the game should work. For instance, one of the biggest changes talked about was the removal of crystal boxes. The bad players probably hate this. Now, instead of driving around randomly picking up crystal boxes, they have to actually try to help their team. The good players probably earn a lot more crystals now, but many regret seeing a very important part of the game go extinct. This update was probably good for tanki online as a whole. It makes people actually have to help their team, and encourages players to get good. Long before the removal of crystals, was the rebalance. A lot of people I know hated this update. Every single one of my real life friends who played the game left during this update. A lot of people hated that they lost their M2 or M3 turrets and hulls. This update got rid of the two 'tiers', and in my opinion made four tiers: M0, M1, M2, M3. I didn't like this rebalance particularly, but I was too low ranking to care very much. This update was probably better for tankionline as a whole, because it added a new layer of complexity. Back before the rebalance, you never saw Marshalls driving M3 Smoky, Firebird, or practically any of the tier one turrets. But now, you will see every single M3 turret being used my Generalissimos. The addition of a new turret (Hammer) was probably a good idea. It will make more inactive players, especially high ranking ones, play the game a lot more to try out and play the new turret, and turrets. It will also change the gameplay of tanki online, for better or worse. I can't say yet, and am not here to give my opinion on the new turret. No matter what tanki online does, there will always be a lot of players not happy, because there are so many different views on tanki online. Probably a lot of players just wish they could get tons of crystals and rank really quickly. I think that the Russians have a much different world view for the game, but I couldn't say for sure. Tankionline is more based on skill than strategy. There is a difference between the two. For example, Basketball is a very strategic game, but it is also very skill based. It takes a lot of skill to throw a ball into a tiny hoop ten feet in the air from long distances. But soccer, has some skill but it is mostly strategic. There is a much bigger field, and more players. Almost anyone can kick a ball into a goal, but a lot of people couldn't make a basket too easily. World of tanks is more strategic than this game, but less skill based. Anyone can click on an enemy tank with their mouse. Less people can aim a railgun halfway across the map to kill an enemy. In world of tanks, you don't get to re spawn. This adds a ton to the strategy. In tankionline, you can die and re spawn as often as you like. A lot of people wish tanki online was more strategic, or more skillful. I don't really have an opinion A lot of people suspect hidden motive behind the developer's actions. In some of my previous articles, I mention some of that, but I am not being serious.I think that almost everything the devs do is to make the game better, and not just to make more money. But I do think that all the stuff with Pro Battle Passes recently is to try to earn more money. Tanki online gets a lot of negative feedback from their updates. But part of that is because people are much more likely to complain, than to compliment. Some people are angry that tanki online doesn't heed player feedback often. But, lets face it. Its their game, and their company. They can do whatever they want in it. So stop complaining! Give them useful feedback that they will actually find helpful. Personally, I make a lot more crystals the new way. Basically, the new way things work with crystal boxes, it makes things better for the good players and worse for the bad players, which is a good thing, right? I will probably right another article about this problem some day. Now someone actually has to help their team in order to make crystals, not just drive around catching boxes. I have to admit, I don't know what a 'mult' is. It is annoying that when people are trying to share their opinion, like shadwarttt or Firingsniper get downvotes. I wish you wouldn't do that in this thread.
