IF you're drugged to the max, constantly (as I usually am), yes, it can be a formidable weapon, but is easily overpowered by Firebird, Hammer, and most of the long range guns. In terms of damage dealt, Firebird roasts Isida almost every time. As for healing other tanks, once you've got it fully MU'd, it heals light and med tanks very quickly; heavy tanks take a bit longer but it gets 'er done.
-
I'm still at M2, haven't the rank for M3 yet. For me, as an aggressive Izzy + Hunter player, MUing (in order of importance) has been as follows: 1)Damage 2)Self Healing 3)Reload Time 4)Range 5)Healing 6)Rotation (I haven't done anything with Rotation as I have a gimped hand, and am unable to Rotate while using the other keys during play) In my experience, Isida is most effective on short range maps with lots of cover: on larger maps with open spaces, Izzy falls to long range guns too easily.
-
In that it heals team mates and self heals, it surpasses the other short range turrets in a supportive role (especially around the base in CTF), but: it's not nearly as effective in an aggressive role compared to Firebird and Hammer. Freeze is now slightly underpowered, and poses no huge threat to Izzy, but since the updates, going head - to - head against Firebird or Hammer, Isida loses every time. Unless I get lucky, and am using DA and DD, I have a hard time beating these 2 turrets on an even footing. Even players 2-3 ranks below me have no problem killing me long before I can kill them, and that's going against similar hulls (Hunter)! Firebird in particular is the most OP of the S.R.T.'s, killing within 1.5 - 2 seconds, and, even IF I'm able to kill one before it kills me, I often still die due to the "slow roast", or "after burn"... which I think is bullsh!t.

Let's have a vote: fix the glitch!
Ironwolf4 replied to Ironwolf4 in Let's have a vote: fix the glitch! Archive
How many of you are fed up with the 'anti cheat' glitch that tanki has refused to address? They waste time making changes and "improvements". (most of which have made little difference in the "balance" of game play, or, have made it worse) But still, we players (many of which spend money on the game) are left to suffer with this "anti cheat" glitch... Unless you're camped out around a flag base during the entire game, it's impossible to avoid getting on top of another tank, and even if for just a split second, you jump across the front of another tanker, barely touching them, you "self destruct"... I for one, vote they fix this problem that has hampered the game for over a month. -
Even before the "rebalance", I found that given the amount of $$ spent on paints, and ESPECIALLY the MU's, THEY ARE NOT WORTH THE $$. Micro upgrading paints is a colossal waste of money for what you get in return. I bought Spark then wasted some $$ in MU's... so far, I spent over $50 Canadian for DIDDLY SQUAT (the exchange rates really add up: for every $20 I spend, the exchange rates add $8+). My protection with Spark is now 20+1/Firebird, 15/Twins, 38+1/Rico, and yet, Firebird STILL fries me long before I even come close to killing them. NOT good value for the $$ spent.
-
this update is BULLSH!T... My hull and turret are both M2: Isida has Damage, Self Healing, Reload Time and Range fully MU'd (Healing is 9/19) Hornet has Protection and Speed fully MU'd, (everything else at about 50%). Digital paint (the best Rail protection I have right now) is 18+1, 44+1, 15+1 BUT I'M STILL GETTING WASTED WITH 1 SHOT FROM RAIL. The best defence I have against Firebird is Spark (MU'd to 20+1) AND IT DON'T DO SH1T AGAINST FIREBIRD: within 1.5 to 2 seconds, I'm toast (pun intended). Roger is my best paint against Twins (32+1) and it also SUCKS. BUYING PAINTS AND UPGRADES IS A RIP OFF & WASTE OF TIME. Hornet + Isida should be able to be used as an aggressive tank, not just a "Medic", but you devs have made it so that just about everything on the map wastes Hornet + Isida with ease, making it an exercise in frustration and futility to play in an aggressive capacity. All it's good for now is hiding around the flag base and healing team mates Unless, (like me) you're a chronic drugger with an ample supply, Hornet + Isida are useless now as an aggressive tank, so if you can't afford the drugs to play aggressively, don't waste your $$ on this combo.
-
Well, something has changed that wasn't planned on: before I got Digital Paint, Rail could kill me with 1 shot (at close range), after I got (and slightly MU'd) Digital, it took 2 shots. Now, Rail takes me out with 1 shot again (from any range), and Digital offers little to no protection... Also, Hornet is considered Light hull and hasn't gained any speed. It SHOULD get either a speed boost or armor boost because it isn't really fast and nimble enough to evade long range guns unless you're able to sneak right up behind them. Also, Hammer is now seriously OP; kills me with 1 shot easily, or if I have DA, kills in 2. Head to head, Isida takes too long to kill compared to other turrets; they can kill in 1 or 2 shots before I drain even half their energy, Firebird kills me even after I've managed to kill them... how the f@ck is THAT balanced?
-
Do you even test these changes before putting them in place?!!!? Rail now kills my Horny (Hornet) even easier than before; I'm using Digital which is "supposed" to be good against Rail (44+1, MU'd to 6/12) and a Rail kept blowing me away the moment I respawned: 1 shot and there I am, DEAD. THIS IS NOT A "BALANCED" GAME!!! TANKS WITH MEDIUM AND LONG RANGE TURRETS DOMINATE LIGHT TANKS WITH SHORT RANGE TURRETS. Hornet + Isida are too easily beaten by almost every other combo. There should be a built-in modifier, when a tank equips Isida, there should be an automatic increase to protection while using Izzy.
-
What I can't figure out is why spend all the time and effort to make (virtually insignificant) changes in Izzy (Isida), WHEN THERE'S STILL A PROBLEM WITH THE "ANTI CHEAT" GLITCH!!!!????!!!! How about putting some time and effort into something that remains a constant p.i.t.a. to players instead of messing around with something that is 99% useless (Izzy "improvements"). Furthermore, Twins and Hammer now devastate Hornet: it was bad enough getting killed so easily by Rail, now, it's like being a guppy in a gator pond. Because so many players utilize Hornet with longer range turrets, Hornet + Isida are being slaughtered. Light hulls with Izzy simply can't compete evenly with other light hulls with longer range turrets. And now, Hammer is wasting me before I can get close enough for my Isida beam to engage (1 shot takes me down to 40 - 50 percent health, second shot kills me just as my beam starts to drain enemy). THAT ISN'T BALANCE.
-
So what I'd like to know is this:if Damage is dealt every 0,25 second instead of 0,5 why haven't I noticed any appreciable difference in Isida's performance? Seriously, a 1/4 of a second's difference in fire rate (?) is VIRTUALLY USELESS What does that mean anyway; "damage is dealt every 0.25 second"... Isida fires a steady steam, not projectiles, and the damage it does is a parasitic, or draining type. Instead of wasting time and effort on a 99% useless update, why not do something constructive, like decrease reload times, increase firing duration, or give it more vertical range (i.e. other turrets can shoot down on us from a high ledge, but we can't reach them when they're right above us?) I have tried 'walking' the front end of my tank up a ledge to fire at a tank 10 feet above me, but Isida won't fire, even when the enemy tank is right on the very edge of the ledge, just overhead... THAT would be a useful update.
-
I haven't played for a few days, but don't find any significant change/"improvement" in Izzy. As for hull improvements, WHY THE H3LL DID YOU LEAVE HORNET OUT? The upgrades for other turrets now mean Hornet gets hammered even worse than before. Hornet ONLY benefits from it's (modest) speed "advantage" when it's been able to sneak up on slower tank... Any distance involved, and Hornet usually gets dead before we can even get close. Either give Hornet a REAL speed advantage, or, give it an armor boost!
-
In some respects I agree on the rampant drugging... but on the other hand, there are some situations where if you're not a "juice junky", you don't survive. I play Isida/Hornet exclusively, and I am a chronic drugger. I tried minimizing my drug use at first, but was constantly getting wasted by long range turrets, and short range turrets like Freeze and Firebird kill me much faster than I kill them. I'm a Major, (using M2 hull & turrets) and am still getting killed easily by 2nd and 1st Lieutenants unless I'm drugged. Hornet simply isn't fast or strong enough to play "head-to-head" against long range turrets (playing against players of same rank/strength). If they have enough time to hit you twice, you're done. Often I still get nailed by Thunder and Rail in 1 shot (when they're using DD and I'm out of DA).

What makes you Mad in Tanki? Things you hate/like in the game?
Ironwolf4 replied to Ditzy-Dip in Archive
I'm getting really fed up with all those players who leave a battle just because of the flag count... the score you get at the end of the game ISN'T determined by the flag count!!! The longer you stay and fight as a team, you'll rack up kills, and accumulate points. I've been in a number of battles lately where either the opposing team began leaving because of losing score/flag count, or, even worse, MY team began leaving for the same reason. Sometimes things happen to connectivity and you leave a game involuntarily, but most of the time what I'm seeing is players simply quitting because they're losing... Personally I think that in order to keep the points you gain, you should have to stay until the end: YOU SHOULDN'T GAIN POINTS IF YOU DON'T STAY AND PLAY. When you leave early, you make your (former) team mates suffer. (unless you were one of those players who just sat there doing nothing anyway, then, good riddance) Maybe as an incentive, players who stay and finish a battle get a "bonus" at the end of the round... i.e.: all players who finish a battle gain an extra 50 points? -
When are you going to fix "anti cheat" glitch?!?
Ironwolf4 replied to Ironwolf4 in When are you going to fix "anti cheat" glitch?!? Archive
It is virtually impossible to avoid getting on top of another tank (when using lighter, faster hulls like Hornet)... going fast/jumping down a ramp when another tank is coming up it, in a skirmish around a flag base, in a skirmish going after gold box, etc., etc... The "anti cheat"/ self destruct glitch has robbed me personally of a couple dozen flags, and is a major source of frustration. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. FIX IT PLEASE!!! It's been a few weeks now, and it should have been tested BEFORE introducing it into the game. -
I have Hunter and Hornet (as well as all but 2 of the other hulls). I played Hunter at first, but it`s armor isn`t much better than Hornet, and it`s just slower enough that I didn`t want to play it much. I have played Horny+ Izzy (Hornet +Isida) 99% of the time I`ve been playing this game: imo, Hunter and Isida are best for a Medic role. Beef up Hunter's Speed and Armor, and you'll be able to get to your team mates fairly quickly without dying too much. I have lots of gripes concerning Hornet`s (lack of) Protection, and Paints just don`t beef up the Protection that much. I (over) compensate with massive drug use, which many complain about (lol, always those on the opposing teams; nobody complains when I`m saving their hide ;) With MU`s maxed, my M2 Hornet is very fast and M2 Izzy is devastating WHEN I AM ON DRUGS... When playing against similar ranks, I often rack up a score 200 - 300 - 400 points higher than anyone else on the board when my drug supply is full. If you have the $$ for a large stock of drugs, and don`t care about ppl whining about it, then Horny + Izzy can be played in a very aggressive role, or, be the best Medic on the block.

..."therefore you don't have the right to demand your money back when what you get in return for your investment does not satisfy your expectations." "Moral of the story: feel free to spend real money in online games, but do it at your own risk" Agreed, I understand that there can be no expectation of a 'refund', and I'm not asking for one: I simply believe that a Good Business Practice is to deliver REASONABLE value for money spent: (i.e. I have recently invested a considerable amount of money in the MU's of my Hornet armor/Protection ,Speed, and paint/s, only to find that they are sadly inadequate). In the last 2 weeks I have spent well over $100 in REAL money, and there is very little increase in Protection or Speed). Given the total amount of $$ I have invested in my tank (hundreds of dollars) I should not have to resort to chronic buying and using of supplies just to survive. As much as this game is fun and very, very addicting, the Owners/Dev's do NOT offer what I consider reasonable value for the amount of money spent. Now, as for "glitches" such as the anti cheat self destruct, that should have been tested BEFORE introducing it into the game! Not all of us have expensive gaming computers: mine is marginally adequate to play this game, and my wireless connection isn't great, and I suffer from lag a lot, so there are performance issues that I simply have to live with for the moment. However, to be subjected to a "glitch" like the faulty anti cheat feature is simply unacceptable.
-
I disagree: they are running a business: they offer certain things for sale, which I have purchased for money. That is not a "donation", it's a business transaction. A "donation" is a gift of resources, in which there is no expectation of something in return. I have spent a considerable amount of money buying equipment and performance upgrades, which fall short of the performance levels I have every right to expect given the amount of money I've invested. The free crystals that we get as a "thank you" are a nice bonus, but the reality is, they are aimed more for those players who don't/can't spend money, and who would not be able to compete against those of us who do. The whole point of gaming is to relax, have fun, and enjoy the experience: when a business entity creates a situation where the paying customers aren't enjoying themselves, the onus is on the business entity to remedy the situation asap. I am a small business owner (a property maintenance business): if my services were to fall short of my customer's expectations, I wouldn't get paid until they are happy, or, I would have to offer a refund. Glitches are one thing, but to intentionally introduce something into a game that interferes with the customer's enjoyment of the game is another. They have the means to test these "features" BEFORE introducing them into the game, but to dump this stuff on us without doing their due diligence is a disservice to their customers.

Is this a glitch or intentional? (and other rants)
Ironwolf4 replied to Ironwolf4 in Is this a glitch or intentional? (and other rants) Archive
For the last few days, I've found myself "self destructing" when I've jumped onto, or crawled over another tank: today there was a mad scramble for a gold box, and a heavy tank pushed me on top of another tank, and I "self destructed"... If this is a glitch, please do something about it ASAP, because I use a Hornet, and often find myself on top of other, heavier tanks (which is bad enough as they can still shoot me, but I can't shoot them!). On the other side of this coin, there have been a few times when I've pushed under other tanks, but THEY don't self destruct, so what the heck is going on?!!!? If this is supposed be some kind of deterrent to keep players from getting on top of other tanks, well, it's just plain stupid, and needs to be fixed. For the amount of money I have spent on this game, I have to say I'm getting pretty dammed fed up with some of the "glitches" and "improvements" that have popped up since I started playing. How about giving us some value for the money we spend? I'M HELPING TO PAY YOUR SALARIES, so how about treating me with a little more respect? You're in BUSINESS, and I'm a paying CUSTOMER, so it's time you started treating me as such. I've lost count of the $$ I've spent getting my Hornet up to M2, maxed MU's on Speed and Armor, plus MUing a couple of paints... and yes, I'm impatient, so have spent the $$ to Speed up the MU's. It's been EXPENSIVE, and, my tank isn't nearly as fast or as strong as I think it should be (unless I'm constantly drugging) I'm a Captain, and get killed by 1 shot from a 2nd Lieutenant's Rail? While wearing Digital paint; supposed to be "strong against Railgun"... BS. -

allow me to reiterate... A$$HATS WHO RUN AND HIDE WITH THE FLAGS!!! You losers are messing up the flow of game play for everyone else!!! You are pi$$ing off EVERYONE else, including your own team mates. I suggest that every time some ***** runs and hides with the flag, that moron's team mates stand by and let him be killed, over, and over, and over until he leaves the game. I won't heal a team mate who hides with the flag, and won't defend him from the opponents eiither. If we all did this, sooner or later maybe those boneheads will quit hiding with the flag and screwing up the game for everyone else. **Sometimes it's lag that keeps you from dropping a flag: happens to me alot. When that happens and it's a busy game, I'll Delete myself on the flag base so a team mate can grab it. -

Ironwolf4 replied to Ditzy-Dip in Archive
Makes me mad that my Hornet is so dammed easy to tip/flip. When I'm under a supply that's about to drop on me, and some a$$hat team mate pushes me out of the way to snag it. *same as above, but when it's a gold box it's even worse! ... Greed makes you stupid: I play Isida, and keep a list of team mates who play dirty with their own team mates... you're on my list, I don't heal you in the future. Players who constantly whine in battle chat "please admin, drop gold box" WHINING FOR IT WON'T MAKE IT HAPPEN. And worst of all; the few players who grab a flag then run and hide with it: YOU ARE PI$$ING US OFF and screwing up game play, and if I were a Mod who saw you doing it, I'd ban you for a day. -
Izzy has become really frustrating to use, mainly due to the fact you nearly have to be on the same plane as your opponent to hit them. Every other turret can hit from higher/lower planes, putting Isida at a distinct disadvantage. Izzy's pros: 1) self healing 2) heals team mates Izzy's cons: 1) narrow jumpy beam, hard to track target 2) cannot hit target on a higher/lower plane 3) kills slower than all other turrets 4) unlike other short range turrets, can't hit multiple targets I can still use Izzy to good effect, but has become much harder and frustrating to use.

So, I rarely go rushing around trying to get the gold box, but today I happened to be heading for the enemy flag when I approached the site where the gold box was dropping: I sat there for approx. 8-10 seconds, no other tanks around, and just as the gold was about to drop in my lap, a friggin' TEAM MEMBER pushes me out of the way! I'm a healer: I use Isida almost exclusively, and heal my team mates whenever I see one in need: but you however, greedy a$$wipe, have made it to the top of my Do Not Heal list... whenever I see you on my team being attacked by the enemy, I'll just sit and watch you rot. It's pretty lame when you get stabbed in the back by a team mate. -

*Players with big strong hulls and powerful turrets camped out, sniping spawn spots, complaining about weaker players (in my case, Hornet & Isida user) who use drugs to survive, and, to try to win: drugs are simply a tool, and the goal is to use whatever is available to survive and win. I've played many games sans drugs, and my D/K (death/kill) rate is less than 1/4 of what it is using drugs. Hornet is the weakest of the commonly used hulls, and Izzy is the weakest turret (used in an offensive capacity), so all you Titan + Thunder /Rail/ Twins/Rico etc users who whine when I only die 3 times before finally killing you (while using drugs) can bite me in the a$$. ** Players in their heavy tanks who sit directly on the flag base, not paying attention to team members rushing to bring in the enemy flag: MOVE YOUR BIG A$$ OUT OF THE WAY. I've died a number of times bringing in the flag, with enemies hot on my heels, only to be blocked by some big dumb team member sitting on the base not paying attention. *** Players who sit in a narrow spot, sniping the enemy, blocking the path (like the upper right hand path in Serpuhov, or the top of ramp beside bridge), and then, complain about players knocking their aim off... Finally, and most of all, players who run and hide with the enemy flag... WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?!!!? It serves no purpose at all: it doesn't increase your chances of winning, and in some cases can cause your team to lose: we go into the enemy base to get a flag that isn't there and die for nothing. If you have some lag and can't plant the flag (it happens to me often), simply press Delete and let a team member plant it for you; remember, you are on a TEAM, if you want the glory of winning all by yourself, go play something other than CTF. -
One of the changes in Freeze; Different freezing effect for enemy turrets and hulls — turrets are slowed down better, hulls are freezed less effectivelyDammit, just a few days ago I spent the $$ to buy Python, (and spent a little extra on m u's)... which is supposed to be good against Freeze: I just went up against a (much lower ranking!) Freeze, and not only did my tank die even quicker than before (against this turret), but the effects of Freeze on hulls seems MORE effective, not "less effective"! I stayed frozen far longer than before the changes, even after the tank that froze me was killed (by another tank). And, turrets were already slowed very effectively prior to the changes, needing no improvement. This makes my investment in Python pretty much a waste of friggin' $$ Devs, please, PLEASE give consideration to these things before implementing changes: in a situation like this the effects of freeze should have ceased with the attacker's death, not lingering and hampering the victim for (approx) 15 seconds afterward. When we lay a mine, it disappears immediately upon our death, so, the effects of Freeze and/or Firebird should cease immediately upon the attacker's death as well.

Now that I've (at long last) moved up to M2, Izzy finally kicks some decent a$$ without having to resort to drugs. The recent "improvement" to Izzy is a p.i.t.a. for sure, but I can still work with it. Ive only micro upgraded Damage by a couple of points so far, as Speeding Up the MU's are killer expensive, but I think once I've got my Izzy fully tweeked, it's gonna be something to reckon with. Now... as soon as I MU my Hornet to it's full M2 potential, it'll be time to rock-n-roll ;)
