From the looks of the "stage sets" and offices I've seen in the vlogs, Tanki seems to be making pretty good $$. I have invested well over $150 on my tank so far, and spend an average of $100/month on this game (mostly supplies), and frankly, am disappointed with the performance of my Hornet & Isida given the $$ I've spent. Micro upgrades are expensive, and to Speed up the upgrades, it's ridiculously expensive; this is easily the most expensive game I've ever played. So, here's a heads-up Devs: if you keep screwing up the game, you're going to lose my $$ flow. That'll be over $1500/year just from one guy who wants to relax, and have fun.... which is what games are supposed to be about, yes?

lol, you're right Semyon, I need to chill B) ... sorry for being rude. I really enjoy this game, and love my Izzy : being able to heal my team mates is the primary reason I utilize this turret 99% more than any other (I have them all except Firebird). As an offensive weapon, Izzy has a hard enough time competing against the other turrets as it was, so this new "improvement" just ticked me off even more.

Isida now aims not at the center of an enemy tank, but at the closest point of it. Turrets now better aim for small visible parts of enemy tanks at long distances. Auto-aim mechanism has been optimized, which can lead to performance improvements in some cases. Did you Devs even try this garbage for yourselves before forcing it on us? This is a poorly executed and unacceptable "improvement". The new Isida beam is absolute and utter GARBAGE. It does NOT "auto aim", it shoots more or less straight out, not flexible and "grab" onto enemy like before. "turrets now aim for small visible parts...at long distances"... WHAT LONG DISTANCES?!!? If anything, Isida now has a shorter range than before. I have invested a couple hundred $$ into my tank, and if you insist on cramming this crap down my throat, then you can have your turret back, and I'd like a refund on the money I've spent to build up my turret. THIS IS NOT an improvement.

What makes you Mad in Tanki? Things you hate/like in the game?
Ironwolf4 replied to Ditzy-Dip in Archive
+1 bro! I am constantly keeping an eye out for team mate's "banners" over their head, and when I can see someone over on the other side of the map who needs healing, I'll get to them asap (I use Isida). Also, if I see a team member get flipped on their side/upside down near a ledge or edge of a ramp,, I'll try to push them over the edge so they don't have to Delete (if it happens right in front of me and there's time). So much of team work is timing, and keeping your eyes open to see what's going on with your team. Sadly, most players only have eyes for grabbing glory/gold boxes for themselves. Another part of team play is DON'T GRAB SUPPLIES YOU DON'T NEED!! I don't know how many times some ***** team mate with FULL HEALTH passes me, grabs Health/green box when I'm in need of it... Of course, when you're running from the enemy base with their flag, and there's an enemy right behind you, and you pass a Double Damage box, yes, grab it whether you need it or not ;) -
Like I said, I've only been playing for a few months, and am only familiar with the regularity of the DCC's appearance since I've been playing. And, I'm not "hating" on anyone, just stating a simple suggestion: this game IS one of the most expensive games I've ever played, not even factoring in the exchange rates for us Canadians ($20 crystal package costs me $26+). Also, there's the issue of players who hate supplies and their users("drugs" & "drug users") who are forced to BUY Pro Passes in order to play in a drug free environment... I am a small business owner, so am familiar with sound business practices: if the customer doesn't feel they're getting reasonable value, they will take their dollars somewhere else. Tanki is a fun and very addictive game, but can be expensive. I would hazard a guess that at least 75% of the players are adolescents with a fixed allowance, and don't spend $20+/week on this game like I do (on average). As I mentioned I usually spend my $$ when the DCC appears, so it follows that the more often it appears, the more often I'll spend $$. Since the DDC has been scarce, I have spent less than 50% of what I usually would, and I imagine that I'm not the only one. As a result, Tanki has been losing revenue (again, it costs them nothing to drop DCC, so the revenue generated is pure profit).

what happened to Double Crystal card?
Ironwolf4 replied to Ironwolf4 in what happened to Double Crystal card? Archive
So... I've been playing for a few months now, and the double crystal card appeared at least once a week, often twice a week, with great regularity. As this game is fairly expensive, I usually waited for the DCC to spend my $$. For the last couple of weeks, I have not seen it appear, and wonder why (other than the obvious reason that it forces the hard core Must Have It types to spend more money). Come on Tanki Devs, let's see a regular return of the DCC, at least once a week! I've spend over $300 on this game so far, mostly buying the Double Crystal card, but if you're gonna get cheap and not make it worth my while, then I'm going to go find another game to spend my $$ on. The reality is, what we get for the money we spend isn't a very good value to begin with (my tank isn't that fast or strong for the $$ I've put into it), and making the DDC scarce is just poor business: it's not like it actually costs you anything to give us something of relative value, so don't fall victim to GREED and risk losing paying customers: Here in Canada, it costs more (with the exchange rates) to buy crystals, so we don't get very good value for our dollar to begin with. If you make the DDC available more often, I'll spend my $$ more often: if it gets scarce, so will my $$, so do the math and decide for yourself if you want to get my $$, or lose it. -

Ironwolf4 replied to Ditzy-Dip in Archive
1) Idiots who grab the flag, then run and hide with it: it disrupts game play, and "lives" are lost when team members go to get a flag that's not there. 2) When someone who is 2-3 ranks below me is able to kill my Hornet with 1 Rail or Shaft shot from all the way across the friggin' map (or just 2 seconds worth of Freeze/Firebird)... (I use Hornet + Isida) I've invested several months, and a fair amount of actual CASH $$ to build up my tank, so I'm a little p$ssed off that someone with not nearly as much invested in their tank can kill me so dammed easily. THIS IS NOT "BALANCED" GAME PLAY. -
lol, as an almost exclusively Isida player, when I'm going into a map where Rail snipers are perched up on the hill (i.e. Serpuhov), I feel like I'm going into battle with a rifle but no bullets ;) I use "drugs" as I see the need to, and some have called me a "heavy drugger" as a result. (ironically, no such comment when I'm playing on THEIR team, using drugs to stay alive, and as a result, being able to keep THEM alive). I think the idea of having to pay ANYTHING to play Pro (non-drug) maps is a BS $$ grab: there should be free maps specifically for players who wish to play drug free. The only problem with that is, under the current set up, players like me (light hull/short range turret) would be worse off than it is now (against heavy hulls + long range turrets or turrets like Twins and Rico which have better range and longer firing duration than Isida)
-
Would you go into battle with a gun, but no bullets? If your opponent had a gun that shot farther, and did more damage, or fired more bullets than yours, would you employ something that allowed you to compete evenly? "Drugs" are simply tools. I use Hornet + Isida, and often die 3-4 times for every time I kill someone using another fast hull and long range turret... I have been called a "heavy drugger". Well, when my opponents have heavy hulls, and long range turrets, and I'm being sniped from across the map every time I stick my head out (often being killed in 1 shot from a Rail, etc), then hell yes, I'm using whatever I can to compete. When light hulls get better armor, and can withstand more than 1 Rail shot from across a map, then I'll ease up on Double Armor. When going head-to-head against a heavy hull with Twins or Rico, I'm dead before I even get half my "shot" discharged, so when the game is rebalanced so that I can compete against these combos, then I'll ease up on the "drugs".
-
Yeah, I'm WO5, have Hornet M1 with Protection fully upgraded to 133.6, and I'm still getting 1-shot killed (by WO2 players no less) even by Rico, Thunder, & Smoky (don't get me started on Rail), and Freeze of similar rank usually wastes me in head-to-head confrontations before I get halfway thru discharging my weapon (Isida is my turret of choice). The ONLY thing I like about this hull is the speed (which is also fully upgraded), but the reality is, this hull isn't a rocket unless you're drugging... Now, let's discuss stability...(or serious lack of) I'm gettin' a little tired of being flipped when a tank explodes under me, or when I'm jumping over a ramp/hill and bumping off the top of another tank, etc. I would like to see some changes: increase the Hornet armor, AND, either make it more stable, OR offer Stability as an upgrade.
-
o.k., yeah, the self healing + healing others are it's 2 good defensive attributes, but: against other turrets of equal (and lower) levels it loses ground. Like I mentioned, I went toe-to-toe against another Hornet + Freeze (WO2) and was killed before my Isida was even half discharged, and this kind of thing happens regularly (unless I'm drugged). As for range, I've seen other players using Isida at higher levels that have better range, but at this level (M1, WO5), I have to get close before it engages an opponent. Sure, once it "latches on" there's a little elasticity, but not much.
-
...and your Isida is what, M25 level? ;) Seriously, it's ONLY advantage is the Self Healing aspect. The range is NOT good, and not really that "flexible". In fact, contrary to what DanTheKiller1 claims, it is the most UNDERPOWERED turret in the game. My M1 Isida doesn't hold a long enough charge to compete against lower level Freeze! (i.e: today I got wasted by a WO2 using Hornet and Freeze: head-to-head, he killed me before I depleted half a charge against him.(my Hornet hull and Isida are M1, almost fully upgraded). I'm currently WO5, and can use the Isida as well as almost anyone (it's been the only turret I've used for the last 2 months), but as much as I like being able to heal my team mates, the drawbacks to this weapon are really frustrating. Isida needs greater range, and increased damage to be on par with other proximity turrets.

Let's discuss increased HP for heavy and medium tanks
Ironwolf4 replied to semyonkirov in News Archive
So hey, here's an idea: why don't the people who thought up this increase in HP for medium & heavy tanks go and try to kill one with a freakin' Isida?!!!!? This update has made Isida almost useless against med/heavy tanks. I like being able to heal my team mates, but as an offensive weapon, I might as well beat on bigger tanks with a broomhandle... My M1 Isida's charge doesn't last long enough to do significant damage against heavy tanks, and by the time it recharges, I can't get away, then dart back in to engage them (especially tanks using ranged weapons) without getting slaughtered. Almost every heavy tank I've engaged (even tanks below my rank) has wiped me out. Isida NEEDS to have increased damage, AND better range to make it competitive. -

Ironwolf4 replied to semyonkirov in News Archive
I just reached Warrant Officer 5 level: my favorite turret is Isida, and hull is Hornet M1, with protection upgraded to max (25/25): armor is 133.6... I am constantly getting killed by W.O. 2, 3 and 4 players using Hammer, Vulcan, Ricochet, Rail and Thunder, in just 1,2 or 3 shots. Sure, I have a fast hull, able to drive circles around slower hulls, but it doesn't do me any good WHEN I CAN'T REACH THEM. Short range/close proximity turrets are already at a disadvantage (on most maps), but when they're coupled with a weak armored hull, it makes the game really "challenging". I've seen a few players calling me "drugger" because I've stocked up on Supplies; well, next time you're camped out around the flag with your crew around you, with your Titans and Hammer/Vulcan/Railgun, wasting me from hundreds of feet away, and I use every supply at my disposal to get to you and maybe take 1 of you out, and/or snatch the flag, then BITE ME. -
Let's discuss the updated system for earlier battle finish
Ironwolf4 replied to semyonkirov in News Archive
The "updates" are ANNOYING; I just played 3 matches of CTF where the teams were balanced (5-6 players per team), and the score was tied (1-1) but the dammed horn kept blaring every 30 seconds. This is extremely unnecessary and distracting. If there was a discrepancy of 3-4 players between teams and/or 3-4 points in the score, I could see it, but the reality is, the score is already displayed in-game, so there's no need to have a horn blare to alert us. If you were to have the number of Blue & Red team members listed above or below the score (on screen), rather than having to press Tab, we could see it and not need an alarm sounding all the time. -
Let's discuss increased HP for heavy and medium tanks
Ironwolf4 replied to semyonkirov in News Archive
My go-to hull is Hornet (M1), because I love the speed, BUT... I get hammered easily by other players with big guns. My favorite configuration is Hornet + Isida because I like to help keep my team-mates alive, but the speed and agility of my hull is a negligible advantage against ranged turrets. Why haven't you given consideration to upgrading armor for light hulls? The on open field maps, the only real advantage light/fast hulls have over heavier/slower ones is we can get to drop boxes faster. -
holding the flag, violation or just poor game conduct?
Ironwolf4 replied to Ironwolf4 in holding the flag, violation or just poor game conduct? Game Violation Reports
I've been in a number of matches where some players grab the flag, but hold on to it in their zone, rather than planting it right away. It's my observation that this causes a disruption in game flow, and some team members are killed for nothing when going back into the enemy zone to grab a flag that isn't there. I think there should be a time limit set, where the player has 60 - 90 seconds to plant the flag or it goes back to it's zone. -

I've been slowly building up the micro stats on my Thunder turret, but have noticed that the area of impact / blast radius is less than minimal: the "advertising" for this turret claims "damages everything within the blast radius"... well, the so-called blast radius is no bigger than a shot from a Smokey! I've repeatedly shot at someone who was hiding just around the edge of a parapet (wall): I could just see the corner of their tank tread, but repeated shots from Thunder had NO effect. The distance was less than (in real life terms) 100 feet, and area of impact was the equivalent of shooting a round less than 2 feet from the edge of their tank. All that to say, the "blast radius" of Thunder SUCKS. Also, as you upgrade, the stats for blast radius DON'T CHANGE... To my way of thinking, when you upgrade, it's for BIGGER AND BETTER... If I'm gonna spend $$/crystals/time to upgrade, I expect something for my time/$$/crystals.

So, I bought "Mary" and upgraded it... guess what? IT DOESN'T PROTECT WORTH ****E AGAINST FREEZE. (Claims to be "excellent" against Freeze. I feel ripped off.
-
In some of my favorite racing games, there's a rear view mirror (in certain driving/view modes)... how 'bout adding that as a purchase item in the Garage? It would be sweet to be able to see if there's someone sneaking up behind you, especially when you're using a certain sniper turret ;)

Too much $$ for a rental!! It's a lot of "bones" to spend on something you won't own (Hornet XT)... thanks but no thanks; if I'm gonna dig into my wallet and spend that kind of $$, it's gonna be for something I can keep. (and, I WILL spend the $$ if you add it to the roster).
