WITHIN THEIR HOPES Chapter One:Memory's Findings "Darren!!Darren jump now!!Jupm!!" Those words were echoing in his mind as he opened his eyes. But he was still half conscious. He was not aware of his surroundings yet. He sat down to regain his strength and tried to remember what happened. Then he remembered that he jumped from his ship. His mind slowly came to senses. His body had a few scratches from falling. Colonel David found himself in some sort of a forest. He saw a black cloud of smoke rising from the West. That was his ship......burning to ashes. He slowly started to remember how he ended up there. He needed to regroup but his equipment was lost. He knew staying there longer would be dangerous, so he started moving to the East in hope to meet with other members ofthe team. He remembered that Captain White jumped before him so he won't be far from him. He knew Officer Darren, Captain White and Major Golden all needed his help."Were they even alive?" A strange thought came to his mind. He shook his head...as he knew they were not so easy to take down. He was in hostile territory. Moving through a forest while remaining undetected was not so easy, but he was a veteran of war. He passed by several enemy search patrols undetected. Just as he was crossing a cave, a flashback occurred: "Captain White, have you located Officer Navi yet?""We received some binary codes through our low frequency radar.""Did you trace its location?""Yes sir, it was transmitted from a village near the enemy's base camp. We believe it's her.""Don't jump to conclusions so easily Captain, has the massage been decoded?""Darren's working on it Sir.""OK then Where's Turbo?" The flashback ended, he was on a field now. He saw a backpack there. David rushed towards it. It belonged to Officer Darren. But where was Darren himself? Probably caught by enemy patrols. He hoped that the same fate was not of Captain white and Turbo. He searched in the backpack and found the decoded message sent by Navi. The message said: "The object V is to be transported at 2300 hours from base camp to experimental facility it will pass near those coordinates N80 S45.5 E74.3 W13.54 we must strike and obtain object V at all costs. That tech will change the tide of war. It’s our only hope now." Colonel David stood there confused. He located the coordinates and he was five miles from that location. But why that object V was so important? Was it a trap? His mind confronted with his own thoughts. Soon another flashback occurred: "Where's Turbo?""Sir he left alone to rescue Officer Navi.""What?He disobeyed my orders again?" Alarm goes off. "Captain White what's happening?""Sir the enemy is upon us. Five formations are advancing to our position.""That's impossible!!our radar must have spotted them.""What are your orders Colonel?" "Prepare to engage, White Darren Golden!!come to my ship,we will give them a hard time if they want to invade our land." New memory made him more confused. Was he to save his comrades or to get Object V? Time was running short, he had to make a choice. Finally, making up his mind, he stood up saying: "I'll not let their hopes down."
