Yes,there is a few differencies as that word ''usted'' which is more in use in countries from Mexico to Colombia and ''vos'' for all other spanish speaking countries;-).

By use of word ''usted'', i would guess that you learned mexican spanish or spanish from countries neighbouring Mexico,right;)?
