Mammoth m2 is not good against m4 heavy hulls, the hull that you are going to play with the most when you unlock M3 rank will have to be upgraded to m4 eventually to compete with others, so if you don't like heavy hulls , go for a turret Other than twins.

I am not a fan of medium hulls but regarding the master of taiga kit , there is something you need to consider, Twins m3 is useless without the alteration module that prevents self damage, the module costs 50k which you will have To buy after getting the kit so basically the other kits are more like 100k-130k cheaper rather than 50-80k cheaper. Although twins on a heavy hull is a beast same for thunder.

I haven't made up my mind whether to get m4 first then protection module or get protection module then m4. Before the new MU price reduction i was planning to get a module that has protection against freeze,fire,thunder/twins Since 1 m4 used to cost ~ 550k x 2 at sales so getting a module at 50% sales was the right choice then getting m4 by Time i reach legend. But now with the price reduction of mu , m4 titan costs 388k without sales and i already have 5 steps mu'd and around 120k crystals Left. so i am really unsure what should i do , let me know if you have any insights.
