I have few reasons for why I don't think bots. But first real quick, a reason we may be seeing an "influx of bots" is that the multi are all mostly gone, so the only thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is bots. 95% of the matches I play have no mults or lazy tankers, pre MM it was closer to 10% having mults. The way Y2 interacted me seemed like a fairly advanced AI (GTAV/LSPDFR traffic level) for what I assume it a basic cheap bot-algorithm. (asterisk: I have never made a bot program, nor programmed any AI capable of reacting to game environment. I helped a friend make a clicker for CoinBox Hero (not a multiplayer so no EULA to break, I may be a bozo but I ain't a criminal) and that seemed relatively unsophisticated. I am surprised that someone can make a bot where the tank interacts in a rationale manner with players and the environment in each mode, but can't have a simple turn-turret-toward-nearest-player/enemy-shoot-repeat. At risk of helping the enemy, I'll give a few examples of why I am convinced there is a human controlling Y2 directly (pull down spoiler): Unlike in Wargaming where simple participation gets you some reward (there was a Mingles with Jingles recently where he explained botting in WOWS) and even if you are AFK you will spot whoever kills you, thus giving you some XP, hacking this way in TO gets you nothing except a lower KDR and possible ban. (WG is lazy about banning players, esp. those who buy) If it is bots, then TO administration really needs to look into this, as it is worse than multing. If a few people out there are responsible for a few hundred bot accounts, TO could have a successful civil suit on it hands if it wanted to make an example of them. edit: added spoiler due to length

Obviously TO is dying. Its a flash game. (give me HTML5 crap and I may smack you) Flash games croaked back in '13 or '14 when the mobile market came out. Tank waited too long to implement matchmaking, plus the flash generation has grown up. My cousins, they do not go online looking for free games to play like I did when I was a tot, they go to Steam credit cards in hand. The AAA industry had taught them that good games are not FTP, and not online hosted. AAA has taught an entire generation that the good stuff costs $60 and has loot boxes. That is why TO is dead. All games die. Look at Halo and every other online MMO, they die out and are replaced by new games which compete. The new always will compete with the old, and the old will always end up losing.

I will say that I agree slightly with OP regarding this issue and Modules. (for the rest of equipment I think it is fine). I kinda disagree with @Maf, for our rank, 15% isn't much, but 15% is better than nothing. My friend the 2nd Lt had to crash buy modules on sale because the she is close to 1st lt, when many modules turn over from m1 to m2, and some protection is better than none. (If I ran the zoo, I would have given everyone currently registered m0 of any modules they didn't own)

Thats old news. If you are marshal and have a m0.6 something, you won't be able to get any MUs in the M1 or m2 level, you ill have to buy m3 for full price. Been that way for ages. edit: ages = since 2016 when I started. I noticed it last year when I started getting m2s while having m0s
