In Ideas & Suggestions there are a lot of contributions that are "under review" but never get "declined", "planned." What happens to these contributions? Are they archived? Are they ever reviewed again? If a contribution is archived as "under review" or even "declined" can they be suggested again for reconsideration? The game evolves and what may not have been possible at one time, may be possible now.

planned Longer and more informative tutorial
PetoAbyssus replied to DieselPlatinum in Ideas and Suggestions
The Tutorial that was implemented when I started playing Tanki, was even more basic than it is now and left my head with a lot of ???. The one now is a major improvement, if you can believe that. I spent a week reading the forums and watching videos on youtube before entering my first battle. I think the Tutorial should be no less than 15 minutes (the length of a game battle), a bit more informative (many already mentioned). At the end of the Tutorial, the player should be encouraged to visit the "Welcome" format and "Advice of experienced players to Beginners" in the forum. -
valid Make CP "balloon" transparent when nearby
PetoAbyssus replied to Artificial-Intel in Ideas and Suggestions
Good idea!! Sometimes when there are 3 or 4 players changing the color of the CP, I get pushed to the center of it. If we get attacked, I can't see who is attacking or from where. -
My apology, I didn't see the recognition above the "Like This" button. No, this is not Mag's alt.

I started playing Tanki latter part of 2009. Before that, I was playing another tank combat game that went defunct because the Dev abandoned it and didn't keep up with the advancements of computers, Consequently, many of the features no longer worked. I went in search for another tank combat game and found this one on Miniclip. In fact, Miniclip is the only place I have seen Tanki advertised and is still advertised there. I know it will never be possible, but I wish the Devs would come back with the old Tanki just for a short while (a few days?) so players could compare the new with the old. Along with the 10 crystal blue boxes (no Gold Boxes, yet), the only weapons Smokey and Railgun, the only hulls Wasp and Hunter, the highest rank Marshal, the only battle formats DM, TDM, CTF. Of course the Devs would have to include all the glitches. Should they give equal time to all the Hackers? I don't remember what maps were available back then, but Silence was the most popular.

I used to chat in battle. But all my chat was game related. If our team was losing, I'd tell them to get their thumbs out of their butts and fight. There were a few times, a short pep talk to the team changed the tide of battle. There was battle planning. Players would go into enemy territory, not to kill, particularly, but to spy. They would die, respawn and report to the team what they found (where our flag was, where that annoying drugger was hanging out, who the Isidas were servicing, etc.). Sometimes our flag would be taken and the enemy flag bearer was killed just behind one of our players. You could tell that player to "back up, the flag is behind you." Can I do that now? Sure I can. Will my team know what I'm saying? In most cases, no. Why? Because I don't speak Russian and they don't understand English. I mentioned this once before some time ago. I was informed that English is taught in Russian schools, but they choose not to use it. If that be the case, then how come all of my words fall on deaf ears? I don't chat for the sake of chatting, to insult, or to be a nuisance. I chat to inform my team.

In the early days of TO, long before the separation of paints and modules, players would buy the paint and not care about the module. Others bought the module and didn't care about the paint. Either way, they were very affordable. I was a buyer, back then, and would spend $30.00 to $50.00 on the game when I could afford it. So, it wasn't a monthly expenditure. I bought 6 modules with the paints and some had 4 weapon protection. Now, I can't afford to buy either paint nor a 3 protection module if I were to spend the same amount of money now as I did then. What has happened is players have quit for various reasons. Many quit because of the updates they didn't like, the type of players TO is attracting, the lack of battle communication and the list goes on. Others have quit because, as one player said, "This is a kids game and I'm no longer a kid." There are school, job and family responsibilities. This is life and life goes on. But if TO was still the "go-to" game it used to be, there would be just as many players joining as there are those leaving. But that isn't the case. There are more players leaving than there are those taking their place. So, to compensate for the lack of players, TO is putting the burden on the players who have decided to stay.

I read in another forum subject that the reason the prices have increased in TO is because it is supporting TX. I've never played TX, but apparently, TX is not self supportive. Servers were merged, IMO, because there was such a decrease in players, there weren't enough to keep the other servers open. I'm not a Computer Geek by any means, but it seems to me what Tanki needs to reduce lag are signal boosters, which would mean having to build a good business relationship with other Countries, including U.S.A. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I live in the U.S.A. (UTC -5). Because of a job I had for many years, my internal alarm clock is all messed up. So, I don't sleep the whole night through. Many times I will come to Tanki for a little while. Before the servers were merged, I had no trouble finding English speaking battles at any time of the day or night. I usually play very late nights and very wee hours of the morning. Since the merger, I seldom find any English speaking battles. Mostly what I find are, of course, Russian and occasionally French. I know this by the battle chat. The following are Native English speaking countries compiled by the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom: Antigua and Barbuda...Australia...The Bahamas...Barbados...Belize...Canada...Dominica...Grenada...Ireland...Jamaica...New Zealand...St. Kitts and Nevis...St. Lucia...St. Vincent and Grenadines...Trinidad and Tobago...United Kingdom...United States of America. It would seem that out of all these countries, there would be more English speaking players. But since the merger there seems to be much, much less. Which tells me that TO has lost much of its English speaking Community. Even the forums were active late night and early morning. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mods have repeatedly said that the Devs don't read the forums. The only connection they have with the forum is what is told to them through the Ideas and Suggestions topics. So, everything else, here, falls on deaf ears. Basically, the forum is just a place for the players to B and Rant and exchange of ideas, which the Devs aren't privy to. Yes, I understand the Devs are very busy trying to improve the game in such a way that will generate more money without the players realizing it. My wall of text is done.....for now.

@Musa, I thought you were going to do something with this list, like put all these names in alphabetical order. You asked @Magenta for this topic so it can be organized and maintained. Apparently, @Magenta didn't have time to keep up with it. If it was organized and maintained, maybe it could get pinned. I noticed in your introduction, you didn't give @Magenta credit for being the original owner of this topic.

None of these are taken: Rigor_Mortis Livor_Mortis (not Liver) Algor_Mortis These may be good names for someone who has an interest in the macabre, for these describe the stages a body goes through after death and are used in Forensic Investigations (CSI, anyone?)

I usually don't have many drugs, so I have a tendency to save them for when they'll really count. If there's a heavy drugger on the opposite team that is killing everything in sight. I'll wait for my chance, load whatever I have, pick up what I need (if available) and go after that drugger. I make it a personal mission. When I kill him, it makes me feel really good to give that drugger a taste of my medicine.

Yeah, my Platypus has turned into a grotesque monster and there's a grotesque face or head inside it's (mouth?) Ignoring the image and looking "through" the image instead of "at" the image, paying particular attention at lights and shadows....No I don't see anything in particular.

Could be perceived as a faded ghost tank, a light shadow or a heat wave. Can you imagine this on a Wasp?

Since when do you have to remove the first letter for a nickname?

There's no stealth tank. Pictured is the Polish PL-01 stealth tank built by Polish firm Obrum and BAE. Weighs 35 tons and occupies 3 men. Eliminates infrared, radar and visual signature. Cannot be detected by heat sensors. The plates can be cooled or heated to give the tank a different image or disappear altogether.

I clicked on the given link, which took me to where everyone else has been. Right clicked the image and highlighted new tab. That isolated the picture. Right clicked again for Google search. That took me to a Wiki on Modern Art. Image is 166x106, no other size is found. I exploded it up to 400% and all I see is a Platypus sitting upright on its rear end with its front legs extended out in front of him, surrounded by colored balls (planets, perhaps?). So, I don't think it has anything to do with image. OR maybe the planets indicate the Universe.

When the Devs merged the servers, they knew exactly what would happen and they didn't seem to care. So, what makes you think they care now? It's a Russian based game and everyone needs to learn Russian. Get the point? I'm American, born and raised. I'll be darned if I'm going to learn Russian just to please them. Japanese couldn't make us speak Japanese and the Germans couldn't make us speak German. If the Devs wanted the non-Russian speaking Community to communicate in battle, they would have implemented a translator before the merger. They didn't do that then and they won't do it now. If I'm in battle and the Russians have a battle plan going, then they need to tell me that. If they don't then I'm off doing my own thing. I have battle plans, too, but do you think they would listen to me? You can bet your booty they won't. Why? Because I speak English and they won't listen to me any more than I'll listen to them. That's what the Devs wanted, so that's what the Devs got. All they want from the non-Russian speaking Community is their money. Everything else can go to Hades.

Yeah, a "big fat mouth" can get you into trouble at times.

If someone were to tell you to make some changes in your life, what would you change? Bare in mind, you can't change the past. You can only change the here and now to change the future. The changes can be mental, physical or materialistic. You can change positive to negative or negative to positive. I'd change my negative attitude towards life, in general. A few things happened in the past that has made me a bit bitter. A friend told me I needed to change that attitude and get off my pity-pot. She's right. Has anyone told you to make some changes? Do you feel some changes need to be made for whatever reason.

The aerial view of the maps makes it easier to see the difference. Thanks for your time in doing that. Game play has certainly changed on some of the maps. On Silence, I used the bridge on red side for sniping blue's outside platform and upper platform and small ramp. I'd snipe on side and while reloading, I'd drive to the other side. If I was lucky, I could snipe in between the buildings at blue's ramps going to the upper level. Oh, well, back to the sniper's drawing board for new strategy. I like the idea of the hill disappearing on Massacre. Who ever controlled the hill, controlled the battle. More mounds and containers were added to compensate for that. However, it's harder to snipe on the flag. I got lost on Polygon. Wolfenstein....Well, I don't know. I'm still on the fence with that one. The other maps I've only played once, so it's too soon to critique. On the older map of Highland, a player on blue could drop down on that little strip of land behind the cliff and snipe anyone trying to cross the bridge.

valid Icon above tank to indicate typing in chat
PetoAbyssus replied to awesomepeter in Ideas and Suggestions
In a way I agree and in a way I don't. If there's a bubble over the tank, I know that player is chatting and not a mult or AFK. Either way, you will meet the business end of my turret. However, on the other hand, sometimes when I'm respawning I'll light my pipe, grab a handful of chips or pet the dog. I may be accused of being a mult or AFK when I'm not. -
