Tanki Online | Guide to doing a "Road to Legend"

Lone Wolf Issue Wanting to do an awesome road to Legend? Wanting to start fresh and rock Tanki to its core once again? But not sure how to? Or want some advice on being able to excel further? Well you've come to the right place. To make this easy I've categorised the steps into 5 phases. Phase One Every account in tanki starts off the same way, choosing a name, and a password. This may seem simple, but is possible to negatively affect your future in Tanki by choosing a bad nickname. Picking the right name Make sure its not too shabby, not too long, and not to complicated. Completely determine that this is a name that you would want to stick with, and would have no doubts about changing in the future. Picking the right name may not appear as such an important factor, but if you start regretting the name you have chosen further up in your career so much that you want to change it, you would lose 100k crystals, which, can affect your equipment. 100k is a lot of crystals, and it can be a big boost if you had that much crystals still in your wallet. It may be a good idea to pick a name which doesn't limit you to a certain combo. Example: Before Dedicated, I was known as Rail_Lord. I loved rail. But I wanted to try other weapons yet would feel somewhat guilty as I felt I was betraying the very essance of my name. So, with the mistake I made long before that, I changed my name to Dedicated. It showed how determined I was to become one of the best players, and to make my name known. Plus, it was cringy too. Oops I meant catchy! But anyway, back to the topic. There, phase one of your Road To Legend covered. Let's continue… Phase Two Your First Combo Pick a combo which you will have fun using, but also one which won't drag you behind in earning crystals and experience. Remember, you don't want to be take a different route to low ranks for a never-ending eternity, you want to stay on the Road To Legend! Good combos for earning crystals and experience fast are listed in the Top 3 below, in my personal opinion: 1- Fire-Wasp: the reason is very simple. Wasp is the fastest hull, and gets you chasing your enemies down quickly, fire is a strong turret, and with its afterburn you can burn many enemies at once and when they eventually die, you get experience. By being everywhere at once, you rake in a ton of experience and score, this results in more crystals for your reward at the end of the battle. 2- Freeze-Wasp: While this may be seen as cheating due to the combo listed above, it is another great experience earner, the reason is clear. Freeze is known for its marvellous "freezing" affect. With this you can pretty much paralize your opponents while running circles around them with the speedy wasp. Due to the fact that with this you would suffer rare return damage, armor is not that much of a must, and as stated above, the more people you damage/kill, the more experience you earn, wasp is essential for catching enemies. 3- Vulcan-Viking: While this may be a change from the combos above, it is still a good experience earner. Vulcan's non-stop firing rate ensures you damage lots of enemies at once. If I need to repeat it again then sure, the more people you damage/kill, the more experience you earn. Viking isn't as slow as the heavy hulls, and is dependant in armor and speed to bring your enemies while surviving hits too. So, once you pick your first m0 combo, you are ready to begin Phase Three, Phase Three Crystals on the journey The most important asset of a successful Road To Legend is managing your crystals wisely. Once you pick an m0 combo, start automatically raking in your crystals, try to have at least a 1:1 crystals xp ratio. This with the beginners pass brings you many crystals deposited into your wallet. Make sure not to fall for special offers on something you don't *need*. Although some people may see this as hypocritical from me, but do NOT spend all your crystals on paints! It is simply a cosmetic feature that has no value to carrying you along the Road To Legend. Save your crystals as soon as you get your combo to have a chance at being able to buy an m1 kit, ere are a few of them at sergeant level, and boy do they make a difference at that rank! You will be challenging m0s, with equipment far better. Try to pick a combo which is also provided in m1 version as a kit, such as Fire-Wasp to firefly, and so on. Phase Four Getting the right kits There are a few kits that really make a difference at the early Warrant Officer levels, and that's the kits with m2s. Siberian kit, and Osaka kit are great for standing out at your rank and bring able to farm more crystals and xp as you are more powerful than anyone around you. If you haven't been able to get one of them, don't worry! Simply stick with your m1s, and carry on bringing the crystals to your wallet to be able to excel when your m2 kits unlock. When you do unlock them, think. Think. And think some more. Let's see some of the most persuasive-looking kits. 1- Tornado: Yes, this does look like a very promising kit, but unless you are going to be going onto an xpbp route, you shouldn't really try to aim for this kit. It simply doesn't do well in non-format, Railgun is easily knocked-off and Hornet has little armor to protect itself from your enemies. 2- Voltage: Yet another kit with Railgun m2. And this kit has the *looks*. Dictator m2 is a very useful gold-catching hull. And is a good hull to have at the early ranks, but however is the slowest, and weakest medium hull, and without mu's it starts to lack as you grow higher in the ranks. This kit isnt a kit to go for to rule the whole battlefield, in battles it is best at counter-attacking, and supporting attacks. The reason is mainly that it cannot retreat, and is overall, a "slow" kit. Phase Five Going your own way At this point you've done everything the right way, and now you can simply have fun and enjoy yourself as you continue the long Road To Legend. Have fun, buy kits, and make friends. At m2 ranks try out your new combos, but don't forget to save up for m3 kits for when you reach Lieutenant-General. So... That is all that I can provide, I can simply steer you in the right direction, but cannot drive you there, you must make that journey by yourself. Thank you for reading, and excuse me as I go back to my cave now. … please leave your feedback below. Thanks.

What to buy? Which is better?

Go for glaze or northerner, you need another m2 combo. And thunder works awesomely with viking, as hammer/smoky works with dictator.

What to buy? Which is better?

I just want isida so I get a lot of xp and rank quickly. Atlas, if I don't manage to buy it for money, then I will try and buy it in-game, titan is almost unkillable, especially with drugs. And smoky is a force to be reckoned with.
  23. Misery

What to buy? Which is better?

Should I save up for isida m2, hammer m2, or save for atlas kit if I don't manage to buy it? Or mu my viking and fire (they are already on the process to becoming 2/10)
