your not that high up ..in Dundalk its one of the highest points of Ontario and where i live i'm sort of in a valley and the snow drops on one side of the mountain and is nothing much on the other side ,,
its like the weight on one side is heavy then once released it lightens the load to get over the mountain and moves on now it all depends on which way the wind is moving so if its a east to north then that side that is west to north would get more from the clouds then others..i hope i made any sense and also i might be wrong check with your teachers its been years since i was in school..and yea i'm a huge science nerd ...
