if the animal is used for human consumption then it wont be done humanly and yes its wrong but the medication to put down a animal can possibly take down a human only cause they have no clue how much the vet or person injecting the animal with if the animal is sick then they are humanly euthanized by a vet ( this is how it is done in Canada) this even includes cow`s chicken`s and other animals
