    I haven't read the backlog, but I can guess what it's about. Just a simple, honest question: Do the Tanki developers actually test anything before they release it? Seriously. I don't expect anyone to come back here and answer that one. I'd rather they just got things right in future. But I wished that last time. And the time before. And they didn't. What will it take for you to release what you say you're going to release, and not some bug-ridden apology for an online game?

    I disagree with Eithern. The smaller maps like Polygon and Highland needed to stay as they were. When you make every map identical, as you've done, it's just boring. You might as well have just one map (in fact, I wouldn't put it past you to do that - if you're daft enough to release that matchmaker system and the Black Friday bug, then anything's possible). We need big maps and small maps, as they suit heavy hulls and light hulls, and long-range and short-range turrets too. Oh, hang on. Maybe I shouldn't have said that. Maybe you'll remove all the hulls except Hunter, and all the turrets except Twins. We can all play on the crappy new Polygon map. Now that would solve your server poblems. :wacko:

    One reason we get those unbalanced battles is there's no incentive for the losing team to fight on. Even if you stay and put up a brave rearguard action, even if you score more kills than deaths in doing so, you'll only end up with maybe 10 crystals for all your effort, where the druggers take 500 for shooting fish in a barrel. Folks leave as soon as they realise what they've joined. The matchmaker keeps sending players there so the game doesn't time out, and it's a vicious circle. If they found an intelligent way of rewarding players for the effort they put in, people would be more prepared to stay and make a game of it.

    I'd like to be helpful and constructive, but the apparent sheer incompetence of the game's administrators and developers this week has made it difficult to think clearly. I still don't understand why you want to impose a matchmaker system. You've not come up with a single argument that makes sense to anyone playing the game, and your recent attempts to impose it (one planned, one unplanned) have been a total disaster each time. What is it about this matchmaker system that's really going to benefit players? Or will it make more revenue for the game? I understand revenue as a motive, and players will be largely sympathetic - they want you to thrive as a business and keep the game alive. Tell us. And what is it about matchmaking that's so difficult for you to implement? Is it really beyond the capabilities of a professional programmer to ensure that someone who hits the battle button doesn't end up in a battle 0-5 down in CTF (or 0-40 in CP, or 17-62 in TDM)) and heavily outnumbered against tanks which are 8 ranks higher? Do you not understand the algorithm you have which picks the battles? Would you like to share your problems here? And let's assume you do fix the matchmaker system, are you really proposing to remove the battle list option? People are going to get a bit tired of playing bland battles on bland maps dominated by the guys with fully-upgraded Viking/Ricochets and heaps of supplies. We can defeat those guys, but only through skill, experience and guile, and on the maps which suit us. Help me, here. I want to be constructive, but I really don't get what's going on in Tanki Towers right now.

    re post #699 You'd be surprised how many use Hornet Shaft. I'm pretty mean with Wasp/Shaft (on another account), but have to choose the map wisely. That pleasure is now gone.

    So they've removed non-pro missions from the battle list until 6 November. Does this smell to you like the old Matchmaker system all over again? What's the odds on the non-pro battles coming back at all? I hope you all bought half-price Vikings and Twins/Ricochets, because you're going to need them from now on to complete your missions. That Hornet/Shaft or Isida/Wasp is worthless now.

    Dreadful Halloween map - where are the TDM, CTF and CP modes? Why can't we go around the edge or do those big jumps? It suits big hulls with medium-range guns who use lots of supplies, and just about no-one else. Clearly it's a map for buyers. Non-buyers: you're welcome to come and become cannon-fodder for the rich kids. Oh, and you'd better get used to it - they're about to tinker with other maps, too. Welcome to the future of Tanki Online.

    Yesterday I posted a comment on the MM feature. I described it as completely useless and unfair. I said it was impossible to complete missions if you couldn't choose a map that suited your tank, and I urged you to can it and sack all the developers. Well, I've been playing it yesterday and today, and it appears I may have been a little hasty. Now I've been able to understand it a little better and observe how it's being used, and I have to say my opinion has changed. I now believe that the MM feature is the evil product of a deranged mind, and that rather than sack the developers, you need to find them some serious medical help.

    I'm speechless that anyone could have thought this was a good idea. This feature (if you can call it a feature - there's no avoiding it) just pits you into a random map which doesn't suit your tank and turret, with opponents with far higher spec tanks where you become cannon fodder for their feeding frenzy. How are you supposed to complete missions like that? Please remove this feature, then destroy the code and all copies of it (including backups), then fire the designers and developers involved. This isn't Tanki Online.

    Agree with Ron - whatever you do, don't tinker with the basic gameplay and balance of the game. Tanki is ultimately a game of Skill, and those who work at improving their skills should be continue to be rewarded by their results. Too much reliance on supplies and gimmicks has the potential to disrupt that. By all means use these on special occasions, but don't ruin what is a cool and competitive game.

    1. 'Persistent Freeze' - Delivers a cloud of freezing gas which stays in situ for a period of time, slowing down any enemy tanks that pass through it. 2. 'Plasma Cloud' - Similar to 1, but a persistent cloud of high-temperature plasma gas (like you get with Firebird). 3. 'Drop the Lot' - triggers a mass drop of supply boxes. 4. 'Manic Miner' - scatters several mines randomly in the vicinity. 5. 'Get Out Of Jail' - Instantly removes the tank from a dangerous location and re-spawns, but without losing a life. Is this the kind of thing you're looking for?
