Kindly explain the point I missed, then. edit: Actually, don't bother as I won't be reading it. As I responded to each point you made. You made it clear you could only find battles that were full or consisted of losing teams. You declined to join any of the battles. There ARE interesting games, just you don't want to join them except on your own terms. http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=367917&page=24&do=findComment&comment=6462376 Oh btw MM won't stop spawn-camping. How do I know? Because I spent ten hours on Brest CP yesterday with Viking + Twins M3 with LR Alt and made about 20K exp by going to the other team's building, emptying the snipers off the top level and then spawn-mining any that came back. Didn't work in every battle, as they got wise to me but that's the point - you don't have to win every battle. One Viking, that's all it took. Is MM going to filter out lone Vikings with LR that sneak up from behind? MM isn't going to give you what you think it will, as has been pointed out. Maybe you'll see that when you stop fighting back.

So, the easiest mission and you walked away because "some were full" and the vast majority "only had room on the losing team?" I am really sorry for you there wasn't a game where there was room on a winning team and all the golds dropped near you, there were no Dictators in the battle, and everyone else respectfully hung back so you could take all the Gold Boxes, and didn't shoot back at you to preserve your fragile tank. The easiest mission possible and you still bottled out and walked away. There WERE battles available, only you declined to join them. Why should TO decide that's a problem worth addressing? By the rank of General you're not a noob and a losing team should not stop you earning exp. You also seem to have overlooked the fact that MM could still dump you on a losing team. Of course you won't know MM has put you on a losing team until you've spent a fair chunk of the fifteen minutes on it and then find your team is losing. You also not only don't have a 50/50 chance of not being in one, you also have a 0/100 chance of avoiding it. At least - currently - you can see losing teams before you join. Under MM you won't know until you're in it. Actually, the easiest missions are the "collect xx boxes" and currently selecting via the Battle List a battle with few players on it makes doing those missions very easy indeed. MM will make that, plus many others impossible. Careful what you wish for.

That's the mistake they keep making - changing the game dynamics. It's not the game dynamics that makes it boring.

I was just pointing out that there are many things that TO could do to improve the game. Sadly they never even consider anything that might improve it for us, the players. MM, their pet project. They'll bring it in, regardless of how bad it makes the game. The new Overdrives, will just make battles harder not more enjoyable. New controls. Yes they met with overwhelming likes on here, didn't they? The part they never work on is making the game enjoyable.

From what you wrote, there is no comparison. Merging servers - so players from EN, RU, BRA and IRA servers all play together? On the same - limited and repetitive - maps? It's more maps that's the missing item, unlockable levels/maps, hidden areas, places to hide, - all things that would make the current maps more exciting - not more players from all the other servers together, that's just boring and doesn't address how 10x10 can be cramped on some small maps. We may witness a great and intriguing game? Not when the only changes coming come down to only about who can play who, and how. Maybe, just maybe, it's all the constant changes that have driven people away. You get used to a game then over time it's changed into something you didn't sign up for and spend money on. Everyone has that cutoff point where a certain change is too much. The point is not to make changes too drastic, nor to take away the choice to obviate them.
-
IMO they're trying to fix problems that aren't the issue. -Fix the bugs, glitches and lag. -Many of the maps we have are too small for 10x10, you can't move to avoid being killed. Bring back the big maps like Lost Temple and Deathtrack. -Rank brackets - we're already in brackets to stop M4 playing M0. But it should be about equipment not rank. M0s are up against M1 players with what are basically M2s. And mid ranks with M2s are up against full M4s and the same rank that has M2 can face another same rank with M4, so basic it on rank is hopeless. So far TO have said the new MM will be on rank and exp. No mention of equipment, so it's not going to be fixed at all. -Some turrets are too OP, -Some battles are dominated by turrets you can't defend against - Magnum, Shaft. Their number per battle should be limited. All those are going to still be in the game after MM... along with long waits, inability to choose battle or what to use in it. But hey, let's progress with MM. Any MM, just as long as we can tick the "we added MM" box. -_- IMO it's going to be worse. Much worse.

Which is exactly why someone leaving a game should not be penalised. You stay in the game and waste a lot of supplies and your K/D ratio plummet, or you leave. There are some battles where it's worth more to walk away. And we're already penalised by the loss of any exp and crystals, not to mention the supplies used.

I have no idea why I've got a black box on the bottom left of the screen. Only happens in Tanki.

Hey, my garage got a window. In fact I've been burgled. They've nicked the ramps, the walls, heck they've even nicked the building!

How can you be positive about it? This version hasn't changed from the one they tried a few months ago, and look what an abortion that turned out to be.

Not according to your profile you're not.

Two weeks ago. Me with M2 hull and turret vs another player with similar hours, same rank, but with full M4. Guess who got murdered? Rating system? pffffft I don't have a problem with "different." What I do worry about is that MM won't solve the current issues with battles - players with M4 vs players with M2 - while removing the ability to use Battle List, which brings its own set of problems. If they left Battle List in, as it is now, maybe some might be less wary of MM.
-
They are worthless if you need to complete Daily Missions. The only use for them as far as I see it is a place to drop and collect GBs. And many of the Pro battles I've seen are empty anyway.
-
If they're going to bring in Matchmaking, they need to do so on equipment not rank and experience. I spent my M0 to M2 on Isida healing in CTF so my K/D is really bad. Two weeks ago I had M2 equipment at Lt General and this is me being absolutely killed -repeatedly- by four Lt Generals with full M4. MM will not stop that happening, as both me and them will be classed as having the "same rank and experience"
-
In the vlog there is no mention of equipment type, only rank and experience. So I won't be up against someone one rank above me and two M's higher than me? I'll believe that when I see it. <_<
-
The only people that will be okay with that will be those who have already got M4 and don't need crystals to buy anything. Everyone else is going to have to find or steal a credit card, because earning crystals for new hulls and turrets is going to be impossible.
-
That actually doesn't work. You cannot buy M4s and - as I am discovering - you buy an M3 so you have a chance of defending yourself against M4s, but even if you have the 450,000 crystals, it is actually still going to take you NINETY-FOUR DAYS for you to upgrade that M3 to M4. The vlog says they'll put strong and weak players together to make a team. A strong M2 player in a team of strong M4 players is going to get absolutely murdered by the weakest M4 player on the other side. Yes, it will stop sabotage happening. But it will be unplayable for everyone else. My opinion is that Tanki want to push through Matchmaking, regardless of how bad they make it, or how badly it Fs up the game.
-
Nowhere did they mention MM being based on equipment, as that is the biggest issue for me. If I can't see what battle I'm joining, or who's in it, or what equipment they're using - then how is matchmaking based on rank and experience going to be any help? Two weeks ago I had M2 and one rank above me joined with full M4s. Similar rank, similar experience, but huge difference in hull & turret. On top of that, the announcement in the vlog suggests that teams will be made up of weak and stronger players so that indicates equipment is not going to be considered. And am I the only one who sees the first two minutes (garage is really slow for me) of any battle is going to be spent rapidly changing hull, turret and module to suit the map. Only for you then to be screwed for the next five minutes until you can change again, because you couldn't see who your opponents were and what equipment they were likely to have. The ONLY way MM is going to work at all is going to be if it is based on equipment.
-
Don't think you're safe until Marshal and Fieldmarshal - I got hammered two weeks ago by some 4-star Generals with full 20/20 M4s that invaded a nice M2 Osa CTF. Basically anyone from Lt General onwards can come at you with full M4s.
-
M4 actually means M3 20/20.

Highland DM. Shootingt everything that moved - and a few things that didn't - didn't realise it was a scrum for the Gold Box. Suddenly there's just me and the Black Box on the ground. I'll take that, ta very much. Only remembered to hit Print Screen as I was spawning. (Had 125 Double Damage in it.)
