Strange. Literally not seen one. That said, I am playing a lot less across all my accounts. Good on them though, if they want to IB with HR then fair enough. I don't think it's anywhere near the most effective way to use vulcan now though.

Well, a month later and I have seen exactly zero people using IB since the change.

Some of you are talking about the increase, some are talking about the total values. I'm guessing that's why you don't agree. Agree about diagnostic labels for what it's worth.

Nah, it was several weeks notice. However, that doesn't mean people could always do anything about it, especially if you were dealing with several higher level modules. They also didn't say how they would do it - some like me foolishly thought they might think through the ramifications and not shaft people who had invested huge amounts and leave them stranded. Hah! In my considered opinion, it was an unbelievably stupid thing to do and just really annoyed some players for no reason. Dumb.

Shaft is so powerful early on and into the mid ranks, you can fly through. You just need to have a melee or mid range turret levelled at the same time for those odd occasions you need it.

Exactly how I feel. The really frustrating bit is that this was foreseeable and that they chose to do it. They have made a choice to really hurt some players when they could have chosen to implement it in a different way and not do so. That's why I can't be arsed now - why should I care if they are going to choose to harm my experience? I'll give my money to someone who does care instead.

Just realised it is actually going to cost me crystals if I play on several accounts. I'm close to going up a level and if I do, lots of modules will lose me thousands of crystals. So why would I play them? Might as well just park them an open containers on them for weeks/months till they aren't going to get screwed by this update. Who realistically is going to do that? It basically means those accounts are dead to me now so a few more reasons not to play. So silly.

As a regular Vulcan user, I politely and firmly disagree. Vulcan was fine before the rework, it was awesome after the rework, it was fine again if different after the tweak to the rework, this combo made it a no brainer once HI was implemented... now it's back to where it was before then but you can still shoot all day with HI without overheating. Lots of Vulcan players have been saying is absolutely the right move for some time. Everyone recognised the combo was broken from the moment it became available. You could argue that the aug might now need a tweak to shooting speed to make it viable given the self damage. However it most certainly has not made Vulcan, in its entirety, in any way unplayable or unable to dominate in the right hands. Enjoy gauss though I'm guessing ?

I don't see an issue. There is a standard cost to the MUs - just refund the standard cost. It would mean some might benefit slightly if they had used sales, some might be slightly worse off if they had used speed ups. However, everyone would get something back. The way they chose was to make everyone in this situation much worse off, with those who had invested the most hurt the most. That's a poor compromise position.

Dang, now I'll have to go to Vulcan, HI, and adrenaline... brick on space bar for the win!

The proof either way will be in how many people are using IB in the future. I personally imagine that won't be all that many at all.

It would have been simple enough to just remove the MUs from anyone who had the next mk available and refund them the crystals those MUs were worth. If they had used speed ups, that's just life, those people would lose a little. At least the majority would be minimally impacted. This is the worst of all worlds.

They could reset your entire garage back to mk1 and then say there are sales coming which will offset these losses - it's not much of a comfort when you've been, well, shafted with heavy capacitors as it were.

I don't understand why more people aren't really mad about it. I'm seething. I dread to think the overall impact across the 3 accounts I play regularly, almost entirely due to protection MUs that there was no way I could get there before this was done but had already invested huge amounts into. It's a real "not sure I can be bothered with this now" moment for me which is really disappointing, especially when there was just no need for it. They managed to do the MK update in a way that didn't really hurt players - I thought that was actually done fairly well - but this is a car crash for some of us.

Farcical change to micro updates that just spits in players faces if they weren't able to get the updates done in time - or more likely don't read the forum and didn't know this stupidity was coming. Not even any acknowledgement that this will be costing some players potentially hundreds of thousands of crystals. I am deeply unconvinced there is any HCI benefit from this either. I really thought that this would be done in a way that wouldn't hurt players who were already in a microupgrade path but no - very very poor indeed.

I'm not a fan of this attempt to put them in boxes as I think it's a straw man to justify a moan. As such I do this for the sake of playing devils advocate. I'll throw you Forest as a poor map for pure snipers. But you can make it work in the same way that melees can make stadium work. It is a false dichotomy.

I'm not sure that's true... a lot of the smaller maps are disgustingly in favour of melee ? I don't care though, you've just got to make it work... or leave so you can get stadium at last!
