I've not even thought about how it will affect my stock play - mainly I'm happy to have my afterburn protection back (and then some) since I'm using Titan a lot on this account and my dome is simply a way to attract people to kill you these days. I'm used to playing to not overheat so I can't imagine it'll be an issue but given it causes no damage, other than decreased turret rotation speed, why stop? It's a bit of a mess all in all. Meanwhile I got some a heavyweight hull aug for my hornet on my striker alt. So that's handy (?!). It's hard to know what to make of the recent changes, they are so wide ranging in impact - I had a vague idea of what equipment suited me before. Now, it feels like it's pot luck what has happened this week to totally change things. I imagine next week Vulcan will be reduced to 50% projectile speed and heat immunity will only apply to mild sunburn. Impossible to know and therefore impossible to plan. Hey developers, people LIKE to plan.

I'm a lucky lucky tanker in that I: - a) had Vulcan Incendiary Band long before you played about with the alts b) got the heat immunity (hurrah) I can, as someone who has played 3 games with these, safely say... YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE HEAT IMMUNITY EFFECT FROM INCENDIARY BAND. It is not balanced, it is not fair, it requires no skill or thought. I wasn't a fan of IB before but having got heat immunity, I was obviously going to give it a try. It's just not right and anyone who plays a game or two with it knows as much. To be clear, I have this combo. I'm not a hornet/gauss fool who is upset at being upstaged. It's just too much to be able to drive around the map, NEVER ceasing to fire, knowing any tickle on a tank heats them along with what is already a very competitive DPS. It's too far. You need to nerf me. I say this for the good of the game because while it's boring to win 30 - 2 over and over, people will do it over and over until something changes. I'm going back to stock (but totally keeping that fire immunity equipped so come try it!).

I agree - I'd only equipped it for one game where the opposition was mainly Titans sat in domes hence the kills I spotted. Frankly, since the changes to Vulcan I've found myself playing with Striker much more. Maybe I just like being the odd one out - or maybe the gameplay at low levels is actually more fun.

Does destroying a tank with the afterburn of IB count towards the shootout special mission where you have to use melee range turrets? Or did I play some Tanki in my sleep which is how I got some kills on there without ever using anything but a Vulcan?

Maybe it should work the other way around eh, and the losing team gets an OD boost when the winning team caps/kills/whatever. Every change has unintended consequences though.

I think they are asking what "partially" actually means in "Partially protects your tank from the damage and effect of heat". 10%? 30%? It's OK to not know ?

@DaringDeer says that "Lots of Legends still use Thunder so it is going to be protected against often" but the data doesn't show lots of legends using Thunder. Are you saying they are equipping protection against a turret which only legends that don't play a lot use? That doesn't sound likely. Either the data are skewed to a subsection of legend players, the players in question equip pointless protection, or the data are wrong.

The intent might have been good. The result was incredibly clumsy at best. It didn't take any overthinking, it was pretty blatant.

That's not a bug. It's 'design'.

This reads badly and shouts "damning with faint praise" to me. "Oh well done girls, we've managed to think of some things you can do as well as men. No wait, you might be even better at something!" I expected better.

I'd really like to be able to reposition the various bits of screen furniture to suit me. Of course if you are able to reposition things then you might as well let people turn things on and off too which will satisfy people who seem to have something against the radar.

Few things are as exiting in life as this.

I think the continual barrage of forum topics like this don't do anything to help grow a community. If you are just starting out in TO then seeing this kind of stuff all the time isn't going to be a big draw. Sad times.

Drive closer.

It's an autocannon firing continuously... they are actually very loud! I haven't done a peak decibel check because I have a life but I imagine it is the same level for some other turrets in game - it's probably just more noticeable when you are firing all the time. Or maybe it's just to fool people into thinking it does more damage than it actually does - it sounds like it's making Swiss cheese of the entire map.
