How did this topic die alrd ? Challenge 2 looks fun
-
Nice to see a parkour promise being made real. Shows the words of the administration are truly reliable. On challenge 1, are grenades allowed?
-
Does someone with 100M crys need those crys? Or does he need the new UTs for newer skins/augments? Yes! Totally unecessary. Totally ridiculous. But guess what? It's hardly a nefarious tactic that hurts any player's account. Well, maybe it is actually P2W but involving crystals instead of real money. I am ashamed to admit you are right. Seriously though, there's a distinct line between useful feedback and forced nitpicking. Don't do unnecessary hate to the game (the stench of hate tends to overpower any scents of actual feedback, including the hater's own feedback). Some things are bad (supplies cooldown in parkour), and some are terrible (Shock Therapy). But an overpriced joke bundle definitely falls into neither of those categories. It's just a fun bundle that players could, as the V-LOG said, buy for bragging rights. Just wish the game a happy birthday (or don't) and move on with enjoying your day. Tanki isn't all there is to life.

When logic is overridden by high emotions. Whose birthday is it? Do the party-goers have any right to complain? Tanki is giving gifts that would very possibly take more than 1000 EXP of playing to earn in the game. Want them without the EXP? Hazel has already provided the answer. Buy them yourself. Whether you want free stuff or not, you're the one to make this call. As for me, I'm glad to gain another rank container without having to suffer in MM. (Speaking of rank containers, could we change them please? Getting 1k crys for a Legend rankup kinda sucks.)
-
Hilarious. Players will really complain about anything. Happy 16th anniversary, Tanki. I hope it will be a sweet month of celebrations. Can I get Thunder Bolter for that? Plssss
-
Mind you, I do not like a lot of the things Alternativa is doing in Tanki. I barely play the game itself and instead only do parkouring nowadays. But as you all are well aware of, my preferences and yours hardly influence the developer's plans for the future of the game.

I'm pretty sure porting the game over to Switch is an investment Tanki did just for kicks. They're definitely have a long term plan for it. If the devs plan on shutting the game down soon, they'd just have kept quiet and milked the playerbase until it runs dry. Ofc that doesn't mean nothing unexpected can happen and force the game to end, but that would be another issue entirely. That's what I mean when I said the game won't be dying soon. Unbalance complaints have become a norm since the release of ODs, drones, and augments. That was what, 5-6 years ago? The game is still releasing updates consistently, and not just for the Shop. If you're using Tanki X as a comparison, Tanki Classic would be a more apt subject to compare to. TO was always the main project. TX and TC are both side projects. TC will either never get completed (like Tanki 2.0, yet another side project) or it will die soon after release (though I hope neither of these will prove to be true). Note that both T2.0 and TX were supposed to be better than TO, but both were scrapped in favor of the latter.

This is a great strategy to increase awareness of the game (though if the Nintendo eShop is like the Google Play Store, then maybe not). Anyway seems like Tanki doesn't plan on dying anytime soon. Might get my brother to try it on his Switch.

Just a note, game translations to my limited knowledge are done by player volunteers, or Helpers. Unless Helper recruitment standards have changed, getting new trandlators for a desired language is not something you can wish for today and have fulfilled the next day. And even if you manage to get new Helpers to support a language, who knows how long they will stay on the team? Back when I was on the team, Helpers aren't paid real money to work on their tasks. Translation work is not quite as easy as you would suppose, and translators often have to contextualize the terms for the language — just for one example, some languages don't have a direct, simple translation for "turret," so a concise alternative would need to be thought of instead. Lack of motivation for mentally draining work makes many lose interest in their responsibilities very quickly. So assuming that the game translations are properly completed, reviewed, and approved before release, what you get are the products of hours of effort from only the most passionate or disciplined. Going off a tangent, V-Logs come out on Fridays, meaning most V-Log Translators sacrifice a portion of their weekends to provide you with subtitles to enjoy the video with. Be doubly sure to give them your appreciation.

What Is Your Opinion About the Current State of Tanki Online?
Blutchidoo replied to TheCongoSpider in Game Discussion
Just tried the android app. I must say while being exactly the same thing, it's very different from the browser experience. The tank controls are actually responsive, and I would even say it feels smoother than on the previous version of TO Mobile. Playing brought back nice memories. The supplies pie menu is not quite as ideal as the previous row of buttons at the bottom of the screen. The new one is more finnicky to use. Being able to edit the controls layout is excellent. Unfortunately due to UI elements' restricting prime areas on the screen (something I don't quite get), my options are honestly pretty limited, I ended up sticking with the default layout — which for two-finger playing works well enough. I do like the new UI though. While I miss the old UI, the HTML UI looks clean and crisp on a small display. I keep my brain dead at the missions menu, not bothering to understand it and just tapping randomly until all the notifications are gone. Not sure if I was using the wrong browser before or what, but the standalone app is pretty nice, even with a perpetual 200+ ping. FPS on an S22 Ultra averages below 60. The gameplay feels the same as when I stopped playing last September or something. Overpowered weapons from a year ago are still overpowered today. Not surprising. Playing with kamikaze combos keep me happy. -
How many people are on the dev team rn? I think knowing this number can help players form more realistic expectations.

Just tried tonk mobile browser ed. Pretty surprised, in a pleasant way initially. The UI is pretty. I'm glad the buttons layout could be customized, though the possibilities are still pretty limited. Controls feel the same as the old ones, but are far from smooth unfortunately — turret turning is jerky. Not sure if that was my device or what. It appears too that turret controls are disabled the first few seconds after spawning, when the tank is still a ghost. Quite infuriating. Players often say that the new supplies menu on mobile sucks. I do find it pretty hard to use. But I don't drug anyway cuz I'm just getting spawn-killed. (Love Brutus, but it's effectively just a pet.) Nostalgia mixed with suffering really makes the unpleasant experience. Also, Rubies... They make me sad. Gonna keep on hoarding my 60k tks. Pls donat 40k more, admins. Which, now I think about it, do paints still retail for tankoins? Or rubies? Can't quite check for myself. I accidentally closed my browser tab running the game. No hurry to open it back up. I'm also too lazy to navigate the wiki. I still don't like drones. Imo they're a bigger cause for imbalance than augments. One more thing, missions — the missions menu is absolutely daunting. I've been gone for a year and the missions more than doubled, with apparently more to come. Scrolling through columns with random colours and designs on a 5" screen scares me a little, and I didn't even try to understand what is what. Just got rid of the pings and left. -
My dear avatar is gone... Also @Ghost that was fast.

i played some games this week and was reminded of why I love this game. just shooting tanks and driving around and not caring about my score. my kd was trash, but I was happy. the game is fun. progressing in the game... debatable. lag is ever-present, but things have gotten better for sure (graphics. idk abt balance). happy birthday, dear tonk. I love you too much.

Your original complaint was that the game wants players to waste supplies for one Ultra Container. Frankly, there's no con. Everyone else is telling you that you do not necessarily need to waste the supplies for the mission and that if you simply play as you normally do, the mission will complete itself. As you yourself literally stated in your latest comment, players on average use more than the 10 daily supplies required to complete the mission. BUT you don't have to play to complete the mission. In fact, if you are so against the mission, just ignore it entirely and continue playing as normal. The mission's existence shouldn't affect your gameplay negatively. It's quite simply a nice bonus that came with the event. I haven't played the game for a while, but if I remember correctly, special missions are not available for the lowest ranks. I would suppose there is plenty of time for new RTL accounts to save enough crystals to fund their daily supplies from the Showcase. But even then, the missions are not something you MUST complete. Your daily gaming is unaffected. If you are complaining about the general difficulty in obtaining supplies, however, I believe that would be going off topic. I did agree that supplies are harder to obtain today than a few years back. Still, if we are on the topic of wasting supplies for an Ultra Container mission, no, the average player would not be consuming supplies for no good reason.
