    Family Guy/South Park

R.I.P. Brian Griffin, 1999 - 2013. You made a great act along with Stewie and were possibly the best character in Family Guy. As to South Park, fata...er Cartman gets my vote. Greatest cartoon prick ever. And btw, you forgot to mention Butters, another epic character ;) One more thing, idk if you guys remember Jerome "Chef" McElroy. One of the greatest south park characters, who unfortunately got removed in season 7 after his voice actor passed away. R.I.P. Chef. Interesting how I'm fond of many deleted characters in SP and FG... That classifies me as a hipster I guess :P

[Issue 18] Bombing Raids in Tanki Online

Ever since the implementation of mines in the first patches after the game’s release people have been using them to their advantage in simple base defense and tactical advancement. Some people, however, sometime in the undefined past, decided to take the art of laying mines to the next level. A new use for mines was developed – Active mine placement. The mine is a drug. A passive drug. A drug the implementation of which suggested passive and strictly passive use. No one had ever supposed a device for defensive use could become a replacement for a high-damaging main gun in one’s assault maneuvers. Soon enough a few developed the required strategies and skills to use this potential of the mines, and tactical mining became a thing. Mining as we know it is now far more than creating massive minefields and waiting for “prey”. Here is the trick: Instead of using your mines as an explosive barricade for your base/safety den, you can use the game’s mine placement algorithm to directly shoot enemies below you while you are, for example, flying off a cliff. Anyone who has experimented with placing mines near an edge must have noticed how the mine lands on the platform the tank is parked on as long as most of the hull is on the ground. If you drive your tank so that more than half of the hull sticks out from the edge, a mine dropped from your tank will land on the nearest surface underneath the center of the tank. If there is no such surface the mine will just fall into the abyss and be lost. Why, you ask, the center of the tank? The game engine that deals with the placement of mines works in such a manner that requires the center of the hull (with minor exceptions) to be on the surface for a mine to be dropped. This algorithm can easily be bypassed by driving the hull to the verge of tipping over the platform’s edge and then triggering the placement of the mine. The use of a high-recoil weapon is advised to avoid slipping down from the hill. Using this technique you can deal serious damage or even destroy whatever tanks are staying below your vantage point. [see fig.1] Learning this mechanic is very beneficial for just about every other mine placement trick you will perform. The peak-over-the-ledge trick is superbly effective, but there are other, more advanced and more risky ways of dealing massive damage to an enemy. BEWARE! If the hull does not stick out enough or does stick out too much you might get this: Let us take the ledge on the Blue team’s base in Silence, a classic example. There are various ways to apply the peak-over-the-ledge trick here as well, but many would prefer to try out something more drastic, more aggressive. The hill is a perfect place to perform speed jumps and as such the opportunity mustn’t be missed. Say that you are a light or medium hull rushing to the enemy team’s base to return a cap. The capper is protected by an escort you don’t have the time to deal with. And on top if it all you are using a short range gun, such as Isida, Freeze or Firebird. This is a great opportunity to try out the second most maneuvers that uses the damage of the mine to clear off enemies that block your way to the target. Using this conveniently written guide on how to jump you can jump your tank off the hill, dropping a mine on the capper’s escort and safely continuing the chase. This strategy uses the same technique as the simpler peak-over-the-ledge one, but the difference is that you must calculate your tank’s position to the ground and press the “5” key precisely when you think you’re over the predicted position of your target. This maneuver is effective on just about any high platform, from Silence and Kungur to Esplanade and Fort Knox. [see Fig.2] Much like a bomber plane’s bombardier you have to go through all these calculations, as well as to predict the three second arming period of the mine, but the result is fulfilling and spectacular. The results Having learned how to use the mine placement mechanic you can use the controlled explosion of the Tanki online mine as a downwards shooting gun, a perfect replacement for instant damage (like Railgun and Shaft) on tanks that are equipped with short range weapons. Moreover, if you are using any other gun that has actual recoil (Ricochet, Smoky, Thunder, Railgun, Shaft) you can end up surprising your enemies by using two weapons in the same time, one having the approximate damage and reload of a Shaft mounted underneath the tank and another one in the conventional turret. This works on just about every hull with the exclusion of heavies like Mammoth and Titan, which need a nitrous pack to have the chance of performing the stunt without losing stability in the air. After the new physics update some of the tricks may become harder to execute or even impossible in the case of heavy hulls. Limited Offer: Explosive Weekend As if the developer team conveniently decided to give you all an opportunity to test out the cool new moves I taught you today, here is a limited 90% discount on all the mines you will ever need for having fun on the battlefield ;) On top of the good deal, you have the opportunity to earn some extra crystals with the "Mine it All" contest. Have a wonderful explosive weekend!

    [Issue 18] Meet the “Helper”

“A unique paint that protects its owner from all types of weapons. It is only issued to the best helpers of the project. For them Tanki Online is more than just a game.” – So says the paint’s official description in the garages of those who have the honor of wearing it. Indeed, to own the status of “best helper of the month” the awarded staff members must have shown great enjoyment of the game, of its community and in providing their assistance as much as possible. Such devotion to Tanki has a plenitude of simple and not quite so simple requirements, but nevertheless is greatly appreciated. Here are some details regarding the selection and rewarding processes, as explained by English community manager Semyon Kirov: “First of all, there is no judging committee as such, admins choose their best helpers based on how much they did, how they helped and many other aspects specific to each staff group. But mostly it is quality and amount of work done. We do our best to show how much we value our helpers. The latest thing is the Helper paint with quite a significant protection from all turrets. I suppose that is it, some crystal bonuses to the best ones are also used. But I strongly believe that the most important thing is when the staff feels that players value them and respect them.” Having had the opportunity to own the Helper paint for a while, I was able to get to some conclusions, including the technical parameters of this unique paint and the social factors it evokes. Here is a video, which shows the highlights of the paint. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_Ec0EwxFlo My humble opinion Game strategies As to protective values, the paint gives a substantial 18% of resistance from all guns, a whole 3% more than Lucky 7 award paint. The ones who prefer substantial protection from one or two guns won’t fancy these protection values. Others, like myself who prefer lower protection against several weapons, will love it. Those 18% don’t seem enough, but they definitely can be a lifesaver. “Helper guarantees survival from a Railgun M3 shot for an M2 Wasp. It gives time to take in 6 more Twins M2 shots with Mammoth M2. It doesn’t let Isida M3 take down a Hunter M2 in one charge. It lets you survive an M3 Smoky critical with Hornet… Looks As to looks, opinions may vary. As an admirer of the color purple I find the paint attractive, especially with the Helper’s specific texture that perfectly blends with M3 hulls. Popularity The paint’s color can’t be mistaken with other paints found in the garage, so every so often you will get people to stop shooting at you and beg you to pose for a picture. This can be both frustrating and entertaining, depending on the staff member’s attitude toward fame and whether or not he tolerates the average tankman’s urge to get in a screenshot with one of the “legends”. I came across quite a few enthusiastic players who threatened to flood the battle chat for some recognition, so it is really up to you to choose between devoting yourself to photo shoots or actual gameplay. More opinions? Nevertheless, I may be classified as too much of a noob by some, making my opinions insufficient in competence. To broaden the knowledge about this exquisite paint, here are some opinions by a few of my colleagues from the English community, who have also had the honor to be selected as helpers. Questions: : 1. I really enjoy using the paint in battles because of the interest it brings in my tank. Of course wearing it also gets you the unwanted attention for people to want to destroy my tank. There is no real advantage with this paint at all since its only 18% protection…. One good thing about the paint to compensate the fact that the protection is low is that it is for all the weapons. 2. When I play I normally use a combo of my Viking m3 or Mammy M2 with my Thunder m3 or my Freeze m3. Last few months I have really enjoyed using the Freeze much more in my battles. 3. But I do really like the color purple. A tanker asked me today what was the color and I said Purple Haze lol. I still get bothered a lot about the color and the protection which I normally answer during the battle. 4. At least I'm not bothered by people wanting me to take pictures with them lol. I think it’s a good reward for the purpose it has been designed for. I hope Tanki keeps rewarding the stars of the month for their helpers that work hard every day 24/7. @AceFace72: 1. I feel like everybody was looking at me, a lot of people at the start thought I was this Godmode_on guy so it became weird to wear that paint till everybody knew what it was. 2. As for do I think it has any advantage/disadvantage to other paints no not really if I play below my rank then maybe a slight advantage as it covers all the turrets and most are only playing M1's. But if I play my rank and up then I die just as quickly as before and as I do wear emerald a lot I did notice the lack of protection against Thunder. I only have 2 hulls I use which are Hornet and Mammoth so can recommend them only with them I tend to play with either Thunder or Twins. 3. The colour of the Helper is paint is OK, it just sticks out a little too much, but I am happy with it if I could of chosen something myself I would of gone with a more passive colour. 4. Being a moderator I get bothered a lot anyway people asking questions others trying to see if I will ban them etc., etc., but when I started wearing this it increased a lot. Lots of questions about where and how to get the paint what its stats are etc. etc. As for the screenshots well people see to stand beside me as if they are taking a screenshot but no I have not been asked if I can. @loktinho: 1. I feel that the paint actually keeps me alive longer. I've never been to that high of a rank to actually get decent paints, and usually, the paints I have are pretty sided on one or two weapons. The paint Helper gives me protection from all, and I feel that it has really changed me in the way that I take more risks. With this paint, I think I've really come out of my comfort zone with going towards opponents, and of course I've failed numerous times, but the confidence is there, and it has really helped me fill the role that I want to fulfill in each and every battle. 2. This paint, is sort of like an all-rounder. There are many playing styles that are compatible with this because of the diverse and equal protection it offers. I like using it with my M3 Isida because it helps me get close enough to opponents and not sustain an immense amount of damage at close range, as well as being able to get to someone I need to heal distantly away. Therefore, the hull I usually use with this paint is Viking, without enough health and not too little speed. 3. I love purple, I wouldn't settle for any other color, though maybe I would for yellow or pink, those are quite vibrant colors that could be noticed miles away, though it offers little camouflage. 4. It really doesn't bother me at all if they ask for pictures, question about it, or any other sort of activity. I usually reply to messages when respawning, and it's really not a hassle. I try to give back as much as I can to the community, so whoever has asked for a picture, I would normally get into a battle with them unless I'm pressed for time. : 1. I feel of responsibility, reading all these questions written in the chat "Mesopotamia what's your paint? How did you get it? How much it protects, are you a moderator?" ETC does not make me feel like I’m higher than them, but gives me the feeling of that I have a great responsibility to handle, answering these questions even if it means i will use a translator for other languages is something I’m glad to do! I do not feel the paint gives much advantage, i feel that it gives disadvantage, I’m the kind of guy who do not notice a change unless it's big, for example with Prodigy and Hornet i die from three shots directed from the weapon (Railgun) however with the Helper paint I die in two only, like not wearing the paint at all, however it gives advantage vs. multiple shot guns like Twins or Rico. 2. Just get heavy stuff and drug! 3. Yes the color is pretty, however I’d rather something more exquisite, something like Acid, (Black parts) if that was added, I think the paint would have looked perfect! 4. Not at all, I stopped many of my drug games in order for people to get screenshots, and as I said in the answer to the first question, I feel it's my duty to answer their questions. @icerugby: 1. The paint does seem to give a significant amount of protection whilst battling turrets with short range and high DPS... On the other hand, turrets such as Thunder, Rail and Shaft feel exactly the same since they deal a large amount of damage with each shot. But perhaps this is because I use Hornet for the majority of my battles. On a Mammoth this paint will be more efficient in small/medium maps but I really hate the sluggishness (not sure if that word exists but it does in my dictionary) of the hull. 2. A good hull would be Mammy in small/med maps as I mentioned in the previous question. But personally, I prefer using Hornet with the paint. 3. I love this colour. Described by numerous players as a "purple emerald" I love it because of that particular similarity. I liked Emerald because of its colour and patterns/highlights, and now it even comes in purple :o 4. No I don't get bothered at all... although sometimes our team may lose a flag or two because they're taking a screenshot, however this is also advantageous when the enemy team players don't shoot me because they're admiring the paint... too bad druggers don't do this (I guess they're too high to realize - I'm joking btw ;)). Sometimes I'm pressured to perform better since the team players think you won the paint because you had skills but on the whole, using the paint in battle does have a lot of benefits. : 1. I feel great about it, it does give me little advantage, compared to other paints it on normal level for me, it gives me kind of OK advantage against Smoky users when i use my M3 Hornet and helper paint on me, now I don't get destroyed with 1 critical hit take it takes 1 critical hit and normal shot to destroy me. 2. I recommend using Hornet\Viking with it, I play defensive\support role using Hornet\Isida. 3. Purple is fine I’m ok with it, however something different would be better like mixed colors or sign with specific color would be great. 4. I wouldn't call it bothering any player is like my friend they don't bother me at all, unless they are really bothering me like act of multing or sabotage in-battles, I welcome any questions or any screenshots with them. @FederalBureauFBI: 1. The paint is great. 18% protection from all guns in the game is just awesome, I can feel the difference. However yep, as you said, about Thunder - it's still a monster hit. But if you know how to avoid it it's not a big problem :P Really useful when playing against guns with low damage per shot, like Twins/Ricochet. 2. I'd say Mammy/Thunder, it's a strong combo and Helper makes it even stronger. And with drugs... 3. The color is good, it's something different, new, maybe that's the reason I like it so much. 4. Every time I go in a battle there's someone asking "are you a mod", "what's that paint", etc. - annoying? Well yeah, maybe sometimes, when I repeat the answer 5 times and 10 seconds later someone who doesn't read the chat asks the same. You’ll say just ignore - of course I can ignore, but I feel it's my duty to answer, no matter how many times I get asked the same thing. As for screenshots, it often happens, mostly Russians ask for screens. But there are also times when there's someone who doesn't talk to you, but keeps chasing and blocking your way just to check what's that color  I hope this brief compilation of guides from all of us helped and will continue helping the future helpers understand their job. The helpers of October 2013 wish you good luck! Cheers!

What turret is most similar to your personality

Smoky. Mediocre at first glance, but makes you cry when you get critted.

How talkative are you in real life?

I'm a rather quiet person, but I turn into a sort of a chatterbox when I'm with friends. I never talk excessively much, though.

    System requirements!

Ah, I have just 2.0... Do I have to install the update for better FPS?
