I had this problem many times, You can click on 'garage' and then come back to 'battles menu' to solve this problem. Anyways, the new update has solved this issue (http://tankionline.com/en/2014/12/updated-battle-list/) ( for me ) Thanks to the king Developers. Good luck ;)
