I couldnt agree more, when i want to be satisfied with a bit of skill i hop onto my 2nd account and own noobs with viking striker, its so fun. I wish I could do it on my main, but being a F2P, spending valuable crystals on a purely "fun" turret isnt viable over another option that offers me similar amounts of fun but is more effective in battles and gets me more score and therefore crystals. Hopefully ill get it once im satisfied with the rest of my garage =P

hammer with both alts is insanely strongi dont know what youre on about with m4s at his rank, even at my rank m4s are rare, people usually have 5-10 MUs but seeing M4s anywhere below legend is very rare, unless theyre a one trick - they only use 1 hull/turret. Guido you cant just take a 1v1 approach to judge every turret. Yes twins is the most popular turret among buyers and druggers and thats cuz its the strongest turret on drugs. This is a stupid point because ALL turrets are strong on drugs, so saying youre gonna get beat up by druggers means nothing when judging a turret's strength. Consider isida m2, it is really strong in smaller maps like you said, and really helps teams out with the healing, especially if you utilise the tunnel effectively. Getting 2 isidas and a titan twins in there will mean a very strong defense of the point. I agree with omarhero, rico is a lot stronger than smoky at m3+. if you were going to put no MUs into them, then smoky is definetely stronger at stock, but rico+alt+MUs is the better option.

dont really get what you mean by this part. Ive got 320k saved up, so 60k isnt a problem, but wasting crystals on a cosmetic item isnt for me. Ill only get the paint if its really good looking.

For hill and island - twins is better. For polygon, id say both are equal but twins is more beneficial to the team since twins usually charge the CP, but thunders camp and bombard the cp from range.

Out of those, definetely master of the taiga or jackhammer. btw, about your earlier post, paladins module is great if you play in small maps. if you dont, then yeah you could say its not that useful. you said smoky is good - it really isnt. its very underwhelming at m3 compared to twins, hammer, isida etc.

and a bright green painting does? inferno is a beautiful paint, and you get some bragging rights with the fact that it now costs 440k lol. About the module, it was one of the main reasons i bought the kit myself. The close range protection helps tremendously in all close range maps, not just noise. The freeze effect is almost unnoticeable with 40% protection and firebirds are just scrap metal to my twins. About the kits themselves, it depends on this - are you buying the kit for a full package, or to put other stuff on top. Now, all of the components in the paladin kit are good - smoky is a decent turret although imo at m3 rico is better, viking is a great medium hull, my personal favourite out of the 3 ;inferno is a beautiful paint and Badger T-F is an amazing close range module. But the reason I bought the paladin kit was to put these components with others not included in the kit. Smoky gets used with my titan, the viking gets used everywhere, the paint is lovely and the module is used with twins and viking/titan in close range maps. I never use Smoky-Viking-Badger T-F as an equipment set, even when i first got the kit i used my prodigi lcg as my module with viking-smoky. My last point, paladin is about 120k cheaper than maestro, that can get you a free m3 turret/hull/module on a sale, keep that in mind. for example, even if you dont like the module or smoky, the saved crystals from not getting maestro can get you a more favourable replacement. If you want more of a full package, get maestro, if you want components to set you up in the long term, get paladin. edit: damn that was long. with a bit of editing and formatting, should be an awc article lol - Paladin vs Maestro : kit review.

id rather play with an extra m3 and a stupid nickname than a nice nickname but less equipment personal preference tho, its easier to just blow crystals like that when youre legend with all the m3s youd want.

Id second high calibre for rail, and the fire alterations, but the smoky m2 alt just isnt worth it. If you want something that packs more of a punch per hit with a longer reload, go for thunder because when putting the m2 alt on smoky it reduces the dps and the quick shooting rhythm of the turret imo. The m2 alt is only useful in long range situations compared to the stock smoky. The m1 smoky alt is great tho, go to the "Lets Discuss Smoky" topic and LittleWillie can give you his own personal lecture on why the m1 alt is so good. Youve got to be pretty good at hitting corners and knocking off aim to fully utilise the m1 alt tho, as getting rid of crits is a pretty big sacrifice, and its a big part of the surprise factor of smoky.

he can kinda get annoying sometimes tho. a true comedian would leave hints of sarcasm/comedy in their writing. if riddler was here to amuse us with his stupidity, then either he has a great disguise or hes totally serious. in my opinion its the latter.

Guido is an avid magnum fan and loves the fact that he can demolish tankers with ease in its current state. As a result, he comes up with very obscure and mostly irrelevant scenarios where magnum is bad, to try and argue his point that it shouldnt be nerfed e.g. it is bad at capping flags, its hard to get 100 kills with it in a 15minute DM. Most of these scenarios are situations where hes just using mag for the wrong reasons, like you explained, but as I found out in the magnum discussion topic, Guido has a tendency to repeat his argument over and over, regardless of any counterarguments made by other forumers. Its almost as if hes trying to convince himself hes right by repeating what he thinks.

Yeah smoky was my favourite turret at the m2 ranks but once i got it m3 it just didnt compare to my thunder, unless i was constantly drugging, but on constant drugs any turret is good. The one advantage smoky has is that because of its weak damage, people dont really take protection against it, so the rapid fire 900+ damage shots on DD can really pack a punch, especially with the 1700 damage crit. The reason i was considering rico is because it brings the benefits of a very versatile turret,like smoky but stronger, and with fewer modules against it than thunder. Thunder might be best at max range, but for long range maps ill just use rail m3 (getting it in halloween), and all 3 overlap at mid range, so maybe the short range capabilities of rico give it the edge over the other 2. Im pretty happy with my set of modules right now, prodigi lcg is a very versatile module for just about any medium or long range map. for close range maps ill use my Badger T-F m3 (fire freeze twins) which is also great. Ive already got twins as my short range weapon, but its annoying to use twins when alterations are off, so getting isida or fire is also another plan of mine.

watch claudiu rico vs twins, even though twins is regarded as the best for drug wars, rico wins out. keep in mind both teams used viking m3 and rico/twins m3 with upgrades off and alterations off. the situation could be different with different hulls and alterations on

Any MUs on your rico? And how often do u encounter rico modules on medium maps? Im also considering rico to use on small-medium maps, but I already have both thunder and smoky for medium range so idk if it will be a waste. I got thunder through MUs through the medium ranks and smoky through the paladin kit so I guess I didnt buy them directly, does that make rico worth buying? Im worried i wont be able to get enough crystals to get m4s by legend if i spend too many on different m3s. My closest thing to m4 rn is my viking at 10/20, with next best being a couple of items at 6/20.

Due to the insane amount of thunder modules at high ranks, thunder is really only useable if you have m4 or lots of drugs. Rico with the m1 alteration will perform a lot better in my opinion, so long as you know how to use rico properly e.g. dont hold space bar unless you know youre gonna hit the enemy. lots more tips i could give, ask me if you want them
