What your favourite Turret/Hull says about you
Mrat13 replied to Mrat13 in What your favourite Turret/Hull says about you Archive
Please note, this is just for fun, and shouldn't be taken seriously. If you want to make your own jokes, feel free too. So, with that out of the way.... Turrets: - Firebird. You just want to watch the world burn. - Freeze. You like to play with your food. - Isida. You wanted to play the healer. - Hammer. You like to pray to RNGesus. - Twins. You just can't accept Ricochet is better. - Ricochet. You really want to prove CQC guns can work. - Smoky. You like to hold down the fire button. - Striker. You like gimmicks. - Vulcan. You REALLY like to hold down the fire button. - Thunder. You can't aim. - Railgun. You actually can aim. - Magnum. You like playing artillery in World of Tanks. - Gauss. You REALLY can't aim. - Shaft. You wish maps were even bigger. Hulls: - Wasp. You use the tactical nuke in Call of Duty. - Hornet. You hate the heavy hulls. - Viking. You want ALL the dakka. - Hunter. You like saying No/Nope. - Dictator. You wanted to play Viking, but also be a team player. - Ares. You REALLY like gimmicks. - Titan. You want to protect your team. - Mammoth. You like to ram things. - Hopper. You like to shout YEET. I hope I at least made you laugh ? -
Well I don't remember OD's either. Anyway, I have a feeling I finished when you started, or there abouts.

I was thinking about it myself, and I think they should swap Hornet OD and Wasp OD. Hornet is a good base hull, and nuke isn't bad, so you'd have a well rounded, balanced package. While Hornet OD is strong, put it on Wasp, and it balances out, as Wasp is very exploitable. If a Wasp pops Hornet OD, they will be focused, and killed, almost instantly. So, the OD becomes more of an ally bonus, than a driver bonus, as the driver can't really get use out of it, with such a fragile hull.

There's that much of a difference?
-
I know the answer to this pretty much, but, Wasp vs Hornet? Seriously, is there any reason to ever pick Wasp?
-
When was Hornet released then? It must have been closer to that time.

Turret ideas, 1 for each range: - CQC. Air cannon. Fires a powerful blast of compressed air, that has a massive damage drop off over range. Also applies knockback, which is capable of flipping tanks, bar the hover tanks. - Medium range. Burst cannon. Fires 3 shots in rapid succession. Damage of smoky per shot, reload of thunder for the entire burst. Allows for high alpha strike, with minimal splash, so can work well in CQC too. - Long range. Guided missile. Fires a missile guided by a wire which you control.Once fired, you can not control your tank until the missile hits something. Massive splash, the biggest in the game (for a turret). Long reload.

It was definitely older than 3 years. They still had the old hull naming convention, that only went up to 3, and I don't remember Ares being around. So that's what, 2014, 2015 max when I stopped played. I had that account for a few years, as I remember Hornet being released. I actually think Hunter used to be a light hull before Hornet was released..... Sorry, I'm rambling now.

Yeah, I had it explained to me. The description is pretty bad at explaining the latter, IMO. But you also aren't going to run Hornet with everything. Like Hammer, as one example, but there are more. Whereas, something like Gauss is already a bit too good (like, what is it's weakness?), then combine with Hornet, and you start to wonder why you'd run anything else.
-
So it's not a specific combo?
-
I keep seeing that phrase pop up on these forums. What does it mean?
-
Here's an idea that will bring the power level of Hornet down, and bring the power level of Wasp up: Swap their overdrives around. Hornet will still be used, as nuke is good, and the base hull is strong, and Wasp, while still paper mache, has a genuinely potent ability to make up for that fact. Two birds, one stone, as they say.

There was no reply showing when I edited it, and I was too lazy to change it around.

Double post, please delete.

So, I'm a new player to the current build of the game. I used to play years ago, but that account appears to have disappeared. Point is, I still have much to learn. I have looked at the turret/hull discussions, but a lot of that information is likely out of date. So, to get more up to date information, I'm making this thread. I just want to see what is popular, so I can make an informed decision moving forwards in the game, and not make mistakes by just going with my gut. Why top 3? Because I have a sneaking suspicion I know what combo is number 1, so want to add more debate by extending the list. It doesn't have to be one for each weight class, or one from each range, it just has to be any 3 from the entire list. If you think all snipers are best, then say so. So, what is your top 3 turrets/hulls?

It's competition is Hornet and Wasp. Just something to think about......
-
All the description says, is that it allows you to see all enemies on the battlefield. Not that it nullifies all protections. And I think the latter part is definitely the problem.....
-
Quite new, yeah. Well, technically. Used to play years ago when the game was VERY different. Seems that account doesn't exist anymore though. They really need to update the description though, as it doesn't tell you just how OP it is, like they are trying to hide it.....
-
Am I missing something? How can Hornet's OD defeat Dome? Doesn't it just detect enemies, not nullify protections? Just going off the description btw.
