The magnum problem is easy to solve. Just use light hulls and lean forward, this makes a low angle for you turret, guaranteeing a direct hit. Plus magnum can fire really quick after the first shot if you load all the way.

Okay, I can agree with that. The mid ranks near brigadier are absolute hell since u can buy an mk7 kit at the 2 red star rank (shop) but mk7 kits for crystals unlock like 6 ranks later. The main advantage is the ability to upgrade further so non buyers could be fighting against mk8 with their mk6/mk5 equipment. MM in this rank range should be changed imo
