Yup, which I said was allowed, and it is not required to make a custom paint. People are taking images that were made previously and putting their name on it; what people are being disqualified for. Lower quality images (like backgrounds with a few things pasted on with little effort) have less chance of wining. We are looking for quality works.

We will start doing preliminary judging as it progresses. It may seem unnecessary but changing your entry is not necessary. Entering the contest with one entry then deciding to make another after seeing competition or by error is impractical. Why not wait until later in the contest to post? You should really only get one chance. It goes against the basic idea of the contest; you enter with the best image you can create, you shouldn't have to change your entry.

This is just a educated guess, but it maybe because of the textures of the props because the shadows are within them? That's the only thing I can think of though I don't see how it would prevent the option from working.

To elaborate on this; an entry is an image thus you cannot switch out your image for another. You only get one entry (image). That is your one chance. I will be monitoring this a bit more closely now. Once you remove, it does not count.

Great plan, this is something that needs to be done. Do start removing unpopular maps, make way for new ones. ;)

Regardless of its loss in popularity, the 1280x1024 its harder to work with because its smaller, making it more challenging.

Since a few winners in the Russian version had background images from the internet, atm I will say you can do it, but we're not going to have as many winners as they did. Though obtaining a background that way will reduce your chances of winning. But that may change, once I get an opinion from ArchangeI who is assisting me with the contest. Yes, it should contain your nickname somewhere on the image.

The wallpaper is to be made for the contest. You cannot tweak previous work, you must make a new image.
