The Battle Fund is a number of crystals which increases during the battle, depending on the number of kills and flags captured - The more active the players are, the faster it grows! You can see this number increasing in the lower right of the screen (during a battle).When a battle ends, the Battle Fund is split between the players who have taken part. The biggest share, of course, goes to the winning team. The bigger your advantage over the other team, the more you will win (if your team has 0 flags you get nothing)! Same for DM mode. The live 92 at donington was always the best Thunderstruck version of AC-DC:

It needs more healing power, more score for healing, and less damage. Healing should be encouraged more... it's now a waste of time healing a Mammoth; as you can get the same score healing a Hornet.

The Pause button is there; to give those who need it, 5 minutes of time without losing their score. 5 minutes is long enough to do something important as making a phone call, take a snack, drink or whatever. Yet is is short enough to stop passive players from taking space... these will get disconnected.
