4 Million players, each spending hundreds of dollars per year...
Bravo2600 replied to Bravo2600 in Archive
MadDog21, Very funny, jerk. But still, you have made a claim that you never bought crystals; and, while having the opportunity to explain how you have acquired tens of thousands or hundreds thousands of crystals without purchasing them, you choose to evade the issue by making insulting personal attacks. You further state that you know many high-ranking players who have never bought crystals, insinuating that whatever method they use to acquire crystals is possible and feasible for the typical player. I AM STILL WAITING FOR YOU TO EXPLAIN HOW PLAYERS CAN ADVANCE TO THE RANK OF MARSHAL WITHOUT PURCHASING ANY CRYSTALS. I'M SURE ANY PLAYER READING THE FORUM WOULD LIKE TO KNOW. SO MADDOG21, WHY DON'T YOU TELL US? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That would be bad enough, MadDog21, but my original complaint was about trouble accessing Tanki because of the server shutdowns. What was your response? Here it is: "First, there aren't 4 million players. There are 4+ million accounts. Do you know how many make multiple accounts for various duplicitous reasons? Their number is legion. There exist many reasons to be dissatisfied with much in life, the world. Until you've created something Like Tanki, you might be more gracious with your criticisms. After all, the game remains free. You may spend if you wish, but those minions, millions, also enjoy the opportunity for free play. Most net games require spending; Tanki does not. I'm a fan, too, and I appreciate what is opposed to ranting about what could, might, should be. Best regards. MadDog21" You, as a mod, chose to dismiss my complaint as a rant; going so far as to suggest that: "Until you've created something Like Tanki, you might be more gracious with your criticisms." Well, maybe what Tanki needs is a Mod who is more gracious in his handling of customer complaints! Successful businessmen don't hire jerks like you, who try to suppress or evade customer complaints. You need to get real, and understand that scolding real customers like they're little kids is unacceptable even if many customers are teenagers. You''ll notice that the real issue of server shutdowns/slowdowns relating to the Tanki 2.0 upgrade was never properly addressed by you; you were too busy being evasive. Regardless of your assertion that Tanki is free, the typical player must purchase crystals to remain competitive. I've been in many battles, and I know that there is NO WAY that a player could acquire all the crystals he needs just from battle points and air droppings during battle. And, I don't think that most players are acquiring all the crystals they need from referring hundreds of friends. Now, since I have established that most advancing players pay good money for good service, the real issue of what can be done to improve service can be addressed. And, for starters, the Admin could begin by firing you, and replacing you with an individual who knows how to field and resolve customer complaints properly. Bravo2600[/b] -

MadDog21, You claim that you never purchased crystals. I DON'T BELIEVE YOU! If you didn't buy any you must have stole them; or maybe you know hundreds of friends who you referred. Or maybe you play on battlefields where they fall out of the sky in bundles of 5,000 each? Or maybe you're such a devstating player that you scoop individual crystals all throughout the battle so that at the end you have hundreds? or thousands? Or maybe by the time you get a high rank and acquire everything available in the garage, you just don't want to admit to anyone that you've spent hundreds of dollars? Rather than me guessing how you got enough crystals to have a well-stocked garage, why don't you just explain how you did it. I'm waiting for your explanation........... Bravo2600 -

DaSpamer: 1) You're probably questioning my claim that most people at Tanki purchase crystals by pointing to an an exception. I'm not sure that most players at Tanki earn thousands of crystals by referring hundreds of players to Tanki. Tanki awards crystals to players who refer their friends because they understand that it helps build their business, and that those players referred will probably make purchases. Stop pretending that the management at Tanki is providing a totally free online gaming service--they would go broke doing that. 2) You may not think it would be any better if it was located in the U.S.A., but I do. Customer satisfaction is a priority for U.S. businesses; and, I see no reason why players in Russia/Ukraine would have trouble connecting. That said, I can also see where the Russian businessmen who developed Tanki are onto something good, and are improving their product. I understand some of the challenges of getting a business up and running, and this may be a new experience for them. In America, businesses value customer feedback (complaints/suggestions), because it helps them provide a better service or product. 3) I am aware that the game is Flash-based. I'm also aware that FlashPlayer has plans to release a version of Flash that works better for such games as Tanki. 4) I can voice my complaint if I so desire. 5) I play on a desktop pc that is working just fine. The server disruptions are what cause the mid-battle disruptions that I experience. 6) Playing on empty servers is not smart--it tends to limit the choices you have for entering battles. Bravo2600 -

MadDog, you've got to be joking. You know, as well as I do that in order to advance and compete, you must purchase crystals. You can try to play "for free", but you won't be very competitive. I see tanks and turrets all the time that cost plenty money (Viking, Mammoth, w/Thunder, Richochet, etc.) The players who are very competetive keep their tanks well-stocked with consumables also (which have been purchased). Not only that, but entrepreneurs who put the website together should be more considerate of consumer feedback. When you pay good money, you expect good service. So, let's not pretend that after upgrading one's tank and entering battle, that it's good business policy for players to be suddenly closed-out from the server; this has happened to me recently, and I'm sure that I didn't get any battle points for what would have been a win in Iran. Does it really make sense that 18 servers are available, each capable of handling about 1200 players, and that all are shut-down at the same time for whatever reason? A thoughtful businessman would find a way to maybe take 50% offline for maintenance, etc. while keeping the other 50% open for business. I agree that the developers of Tanki have done a decent job of creating a fun game. I also understand that the Tanki team is busy preparing for the installation of Tanki 2.0, and from what I've seen on Youtube, it looks nice. But, sometimes, the Admin seems more prone to scolding complainers moreso than listening and responding. Bravo2600 -

I swear -- hardly a day goes by that there is not a problem accessing tanki online, especially after 10 p.m. (EDT). 4 Million players, each spending hundreds of dollars per year, and this place has trouble staying open 24/7! A business like Tanki located in the U.S.A. would find a way to perform maintenance & upgrades without any major disruptions............. This business of being bumped-off of servers in mid-battle, and servers running very slowly while we await the arrival of Tanki 2.0 is totally unacceptable by any American standard. P.S. I am a player who enjoys Tanki when it's working, but I don't think the disruptions are cool. DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE TO SAY HOW MUCH BETTER TANKI ONLINE IS THAN ANYTHING AMERICA HAS, O.K., BECAUSE IT'S NOT TRUE. AMERICAN BUSINESSMEN UNDERSTAND THAT DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS =LOSS OF REVENUE. -
Maybe the prices are too high!?

I'm here to say check the prices! For example: Hornet Base M1 M2 M3 Price: 450 +1350 +4000 +12000 Health: 65 71 83 100 Speed: 7.0 7.5 8.5 10.0 Manoeuvrability: 140 150 170 200 Mass: 1000 1000 1000 1000 To purchase an M0 Hornet costs 450 crystals (~$2.61 USD). To upgrade from a Hornet M0 to a Hornet M1 costs 1350 crystals (~$7.81 USD), price increases 300% ; the Health increases 9%, Speed increases 7%, and Manoeuvrability increases 7%. Now, to upgrade froma Hornet M1 to a Hornet M2 costs 4000 crystals (~$23.14 USD), price increases 296%, but the Health increases 17%, Speed increases 13%, and Manoeuvrability increases 13%. Now for the kicker: To upgrade from a Hornet M2 to a Hornet M3 costs 12,000 crystals (69.40 USD), a price increase of 300%! And what do you get?--Health increases 20%, Speed increases 17%, and Manoeuvrability increases 18%. So, the prices increase about 3X per upgrade, and the performance increases anywhere from 7% to 20% per upgrade. -
Happy Birthday to Tanki Online! I'm looking forward to the 2.0 version.
