Do something about the gravediggers.

So far as I remembered, grave diggers got banned a year back.

 

We have two options to combat gravedigging.

 

1. Banning.

 

Fair to say if someone bumps a thread that is older than 5 months, it is considered gravedigging.

 

If it is intentional and it is not the thread OP that bumped it: 1 day ban + topic lock

 

If it is unintentional: Warning / 1 hour ban + topic lock

 

2. Reprogramming the forums

Lets just say that gravedigging is the most annoying thing of any forum because people rarely look at the posting date. Maybe we could make the date on forum threads more noticeable? For example, in the main forum where all the threads are listed, and after the last post it could say "Thread created ##months/days/weeks/years ago" and if the last post was older than 5 months old, then no one would be allowed to post besides the OP in case he wants to bump it or a moderator/admin.

 

I am just making up stuff in that above part, but I'm sure it is possible to program and will be a more effective way to stop gravediggers instead of banning them.

While your at it, kool, do things about the trolls as well.... anybody who hates on a topic, whether or not the topic is an ok one, should be banned for trolling. :roll:

@Anwar: It's when somebody just pick an old(usually more than 6 month old) thread and bump it. Most of the time, the thread have no sense already or is just bullsh... like discussions or something. We all saw an epidemy of those gravediggers.

Just make it automated anyone other than OP or mod/admin who posted past said date gets a appropriate ban. Will save time.
