Android - Tanki App (In progress)

I am currently developing an app to make running tanki on android tablets easy.

 

It will include onscreen controls and can access the forum and more.

 

It is just in the beginning so i need as much support as possible, so if you are or know any android developers that play tanki then please help me get in contact.

 

Also please put any of your suggestions in the comments below.

 

Remember i have no control on the layout/game interface i can only overlay things over the top like controls and settings.

 

I have got the main tanki Flash file to load but it stalls at the loading screen.

Ok guys this is the problem i am getting,

When i try to load the game in the app i see this:

Then it disappears and nothing more happens.

 

Has anyone had this bug in a desktop browser?

If so what solved it? This will be very helpful because it seems to be the only thing stopping me.

 

This is still a bug. If someone can replicate this on a desktop machine and find a solution to fix it, i could potentially fix this version.

I have an app on my IPAD that can run Tankionline.

 

 

 

It is called ROVER. How to get it? Simple.

 

 

 

Step 1: Go to the app store

 

Step 2: Type 'Rover' in the search

 

Step 3: Click on the Rover browser app.

 

Step 4: Install it.

 

Step 5: Open it and go to tankionline.com

 

Step 6: Select a server and go in. It will load.

 

Step 7: Log in.

 

Step 8: Go in a battle.

 

Step 9: When you are in game, click the button on the top right corner. It is a cross with arrows.

 

Step 10: There are two controls. One is arrow keys and other is spacebar. You can't turn the turret. If you click the spacebar, it will shoot, obviously. If you let go of the spacebar, the turret will shoot forever. Therefore, you must hold it down, until you shoot.

 

Step 11: ???

 

I hope I made myself clear and SIMPLE. I got a gold box once on the IPAD.

I get 20 FPS on my IPAD on tankionline. Also, I think the app Rover is very funny! :)

 

 

 

The browser is for educational uses only. They restrict going on websites that are not EDUCATIONAL.

 

 

 

They did not block Facebook, Youtube, or Tankionline ! ! ! :D

i have HP TouchPad with CM9

 

It has some duel core 1.5 ghz proccessor underclocked to 1.2 ghz

It is capable of running on 1.5 but HP found that it gets a little warm so they underclocked it

 

But when i run tanki it will only utilize 1 core (which it should have full use of as the system can use the other)

Because as far as im aware flash does not allow threading.(yet)

Ok anyone with android 4.0.x ICS

 

Please could you the folloing and tell me what happens?

 

1) open up native android browser (not chrome)

2) go to tanki and try to play a game like normal.

3) see if it loads.

 

You need flash installed.

This is not running tanki on ipad, this is running tanki on a remote server then giving you the screen output remotely.

This is not a good way of running tanki because you are sending your details through a 3rd party server.

 

If and when this app is working, it will be open-source so you guys can see the code. Everything else is done by tanki.

My tablet is twice as powerful than my laptop.

It would a huge benefit if tanki decided to open their eyes and see that we have very capable devices and they are not a novelty.

One way to prove this is to get a prototype concept built up so they can see that they do have an audience the more people the more likely.

 

I am not doing this because its gona replace my computer

I want a tablet to run the game because its small, powerful and portable.

 

I do not however expect to get super performance with flash, and gpu rendering is out of the question.

But a port is possible.

My IPAD (old) is for twitter and facebook feeds, not for some random 3D game.
