5 most over rated paints (in my opinion)

Recommended Posts

1.Needle, this paint has 30% protection from thunder 15% percent from ricochet and 10% from railgun. All of these weapons are used at high ranks. People will buy this paint because of it's thunder protection and it ricochet protection, 30% looks like a lot of protection but it will probably only increase your health bar by a centimeter when attacking a thunder.

2. Python, this paint has 40% protection from freeze and 10% from ricochet. The goal of every high ranked tanki player is to get good protection from freeze. This is a lot of protection but a freeze can still kill you in one charge, it will take all of it but it can kill you. The rico protection is barely noticeable in battle.

3. Digital, this paint has 25% protection from railgun and 20% from smoky. If you use this paint at a high rank there will be ZERO smokies so there is no point in using this paint. it is was too expensive, someone could buy tundra and get close to the same amount of protection.

4. Rock, is often overlooked as a paint because of python, this is a good thing besides it 40% protection to freeze, its other 2 protections are useless because those weapons will not be used at high ranks, assuming you have 10000 bucks to spend on a paint.

5. Jaguar, this paint has protections from multiple tier 1 weapons with its 40% belonging to firebird. Like digital this paint is expensive and the protections are not good. It has no protection over 15% from a tier 2 weapon and is not seen often because it is not good.

If you use one of the paints stated i did not mean to offend you, I hope this will help people looking to buy a paint! :):):)

People buy paints for a variety of reasons. There is no such paint as overrated paints. Some paints function better as an all-purpose paint and some others excel at certain situations. Here is my advice on paints and I'm aware that there is another post somewhere talking about the efficiency of each paint. But that's really outdated and my opinion on each paint, I'm not going to mention the 1,2,3,7, and 8k paints because they won't do you much good.

Storm:

30% Freeze

10% Railgun

5% Thunder

>The 30% Freeze protection is very useful (self-explanatory)

>10% Railgun protection allows a M2 Viking to survive 2 M3 Railgun shots and 1 buffed M3 Railgun shot from far (over 80m)

>5% Thunder is useless because 5% reduction of a M3 Thunder shot only reduces about 2-3 dmg

Corrosion

20% Thunder

15% Twins

10% Ricochet

>The only useful protection from this paint is the 20% Thunder again it's self-explanatory

>15% Twins, no one uses Twins at high-ranks

>10% Ricochet, not good enough, only allows a M3 Viking to take one more M2 Ricochet shot. Does not make any difference against M3 Ricochet unless it's at the Ricochet's range limit (80m)

Loam

25% Firebird

20% Ricochet

10% Freeze

5% Isida

>25% Firebird is useless again

>20% Ricochet is not good enough, only allows a M3 Viking to survie 1-2 more M3 Ricochet shots

>5% Isida is not good enough

>10% Freeze is not good enough

Rustle

25% Thunder

20% Smoky

20% Isida

20% Freeze

>25% Thunder is good for both self-damage and others

>20% Smoky is useless

>20% Isida is decent, without protection M3 Isida can drain 120Hp. With Rustle, M3 Isida can only drain 96Hp

>20% Freeze is not good enough. Without protection Freeze deals 256dmg with a full charge. 20% only reduces that down to about 201. So even a M3 Mammoth with Rustle won't survive a full charge from M3 Freeze.

Spark

30% Ricochet

20% Twins

15% Railgun

10% Thunder

>30% Ricochet helpful a full charge of M3 Ricochet deals about 272, a 30% reduction is 191. Allowing a M3 Mammoth to survive a full charge. And allowing a M3 Viking to survive a full charge at Ricochet's range limit (80m)

>20% Twins is useless

>15% Railgun allows a M3 Viking to survive 2 M3 Railgun shots in melee range and 1 buffed M3 Railgun shot

>10% Thunder is not good enough

Python

40% Freeze

30% Firebird

15% Isida

10% Ricochet

>40% Freeze is very useful, full charge deals 256, 40% is 154. So in order to kill a M3 Viking with Python a M3 Freeze must deplete its charge bar. Keep in mind that on the battlefield a M3 Freeze will not always have a full charge bar

>30% Firebird is useless

>15% Isida is not good enough, 120Hp, after 15% reduction, 102Hp

>10% Ricochet not good enough, won't even make a difference against a M3 Ricochet

Prodigi

30% Railgun

25% Thunder

10% Smoky

>30% Railgun is very useful in some battles, allowing a M3 Viking to survive up to 3 M3 Railgun shots instead of 2, very useful in flag capturing since Railguns reload very slowly

>25% Thunder is useful too, especially with Hornets

>10% Smoky is not good enough protection against a M3 Smoky and we don't use it anyway

Rock

40% Freeze

30% Firebird

10% Railgun

>Rock is half of Python, trading away 10% Isida and 15% Ricochet for 10% Railgun

>10% Railgun is useful in some cases with M2 Vikings, allowing them to survive 2 Railgun shots and 1 buffed Railgun shot at far range

>30% Firebird is useless

Needle

30% Thunder

15% Ricochet

10% Railgun

>30% Thunder is not so much different from 25% Thunder

>15% Ricochet won't do much to save you

>10% Railgun is somewhat useful but won't be too useful with M3 Vikings, because without protection, 2 M3 Railgun shots leave you with almost no Hp. With 10% Railgun protection, 2 M3 Railgun shots would leave you with about 2-3 millimeters of Hp

Clay

30% Ricochet

20% Smoky

10% Isida

10% Freeze

>30% Ricochet is just as helpful as Spark's 30% Ricochet

>Smoky protection is useless

>10% Isida is not good enough, 120Hp reduces to 108Hp

>10% Freeze is not good enough, 256Hp reduces to 230Hp

Irbis

35% Shaft

20% Isida

10% Ricochet

>35% Shaft is very useful, reducing 180 to 117, effectively allowing a M2 Viking and M3 Dictator to survive a M3 Shaft shot

>20% Isida is useful at times, reducing 120 to 96

>10% Ricochet is not good enough

Inferno

50% Freeze

20% Railgun

>Using Inferno, it's like using a permanent double armor against Freeze, effectively reducing Freeze's 32 dps to 16 dps. With double armor, reduces M3 Freeze's 32 dps to 8 dps, a full charge of M3 Freeze against Inferno deals 128, with double armor, 256 will be reduced to 64

>20% Railgun is useful at times, reducing 85 to 68, works well with M3 Hornets

Emerald

40% Thunder

30% Smoky

30% Twins

>Using Emerald is close to using double armor against Thunder, reducing 46 to 25

>The rest is useless

Zeus

40% Ricochet

35% Isida

30% Firebird

>40% Ricochet is very useful, reducing a full charge of 272 to 162

>35% Isida is also useful, reducing 120 to 78

>30% Firebird is useless

Jade

45% Shaft

25% Railgun

>Shaft's nemesis, reducing 180 to 99, saving a M3 Hornet, but it won't save you from 1 Twins shot afterwards. A M3 Mammoth can survive up to 2 fully charged M3 Shaft shots plus one no-scope shot from a M3 Shaft with 1-5 Hp leftover

>25% Railgun is useful, reducing 85 to 64

Lead

25% Thunder

20% Shaft

>25% Thunder is very useful, reducing 46 to 35

>20% Shaft, reducing 180 to 144, saving a M3 Viking

Paints to look out for:

Needle, Emerald, Irbis, Lead, Clay - high camouflage factor

Prodigi, Rock - medium camouflage factor

Spark, Python, Rustle, Inferno, Zeus, Jade, Loam, Storm, Corrosion - low camouflage factor

If you want only looks:

-Then any paint would do, especially the 2k paints

That's my opinion, I know there are counter-arguments but please don't post them. Whether you believe it or not it's completely up to you. But this is what I got from experience.

Very strange, i have all paints and i consider needdle to be one of the best i have.

And by the way, digital and jaguar are paints that were released before tier 2 tanks and weapons.

What about progidi?

I think this is the best paint for it's price.

Indeed, prodigi is great for it's purpose.

But you should always think of what protection you need before entering a battle. If you prefer to use long distance warfare, get a paint with protection againsgt your biggets threats.

If you fight just close range against freeze, isida etc., you'll need protection against those.

You just end up beeing disappointed in a paint when you choose it for the wrong purpose, like inferno or python for example in a monte carlo battle.

If you figure out how to use your gear best, you'll never be disappointed with it. sometimes good teamwork and different team paints cover some of their flaws very well.

Yeah, I hate it when I encounter railguns when I have zeus on... I thought rico's were everywere.

well they are... I still see them a lot.

But I use thunder; with zeus; which forces me to go in mid-distance maps.

It's not bad there; but I really have to think of not hurting myself.

I also bought Zeus because it fits with the sound of thunder.

dingus, I'm glad to see you are a moderator again.

I use Irbis, because that way I can't be killed in one shot by any gun. (without power ups of course). Jade was too expensive. Plus, I like the Isida protection.

In my opinion, Storm is relatively the best paint.

But Needle is definitively not overrated.

All the 5k paints are the most efficient in terms of cost and usefulness. But if you want the best paint that both looks good, has good camouflage, and has a lot of protection, then it would be Acid. And don't ask me on how to get it ask a mod or something or look it up in the forums.

I'm tired everyone names acid or champion as the best paint.

It's 90% impossible to get...

I wouldn't call them the "best paint's".

They are exceptionel, without a doubt, but there is nothing like the best paint.

It all comes down to the job they need to do. If you want to play on island for example, it is most unlikeley to face shaft and thunder. Most probably freeze, isida, ricochet maybe firebird and twins. so just get a paint against the most likely threats and you will have a better protection then acid or chmpion right away.

I know what Acid paint is, I read the forums (even a little too much sometimes).

So the solution would be; buy more than 1 paint.

Yes, Jade is perfect in Monte Carlo, Spark in Sandbox etc. (Maps are examples, not exclusive)

^the guy you are talking to is a kind of legend, he is here since april 2010 and used to be very active... He isn't

You don't have any clue of the situation...

You can't buy acid; and it's extremely hard to get... which makes it a bad paint in my opinion.
