2. Hope, we as humans will always cling on to this little thread of hope even if the odds seem ridiculous, haven't you ever tried to do something that seemed impossible yet you done it?

Erasers are made of sticky material, they are able to stick to the marks of lead and take it off, since pencil markings are actually lead marks, sticky stuff can easily pop it off, try it with gum! Also if you look at the left over eraser shavings, you'll see those marking become tinted black on the eraser left overs.
