Ideas for Maps!

I will allow STAFF ONLY to make modifications but I don't want them to be too big because I feel this map would really work. The title can be flexible though, and any STAFF MEMBER who wants to edit the title may. PLEASE ONLY STAFF MEMBERS MAKE MODIFICATIONS TO IT AND JUDGE IT!

Does the MapMakers Club count as staff? because I don't know of an EN staff member that work with maps, unfortunately (except for our crashy).

So its basically a gutting of the current Sandal? I wouldn't be much for it. Lafasta can do it if he wants, as he said. I do like that you thought of something themed, keep brainstorming with a theme or layout.

I suggest that the developers create iconic maps, such as New York, Paris, Tokyo, Golden Gate Bridge, and London Tower....   Concerned about a higher chance of lag or memory consumption? This issue is resolved by turning off graphics and even creating these maps to be smaller. These smaller maps would be symbolic to cities around the world, giving them much more interesting gameplay, as well as higher battle funds from the drastic score rates....

Its an intriguing thought to think you could play in a mock up of those cities, but the props in the game limit that, of course. Notice very few props in the game are truly spherical. Would be nice if that was the solution, but few players that I know of play with all the options on anyway, so there isn't anything else they can do except make the view smaller. I don't know how you can attribute the name/theme of the card to the funds rising more than normal...I think you mean they'd be more popular than other maps.

This is not the place to post your map or blueprint screenshots. I was giving a general idea to the developers that would be potentially successful for making a better future for Tanki. I suggest you post any of your maps in the original new maps page.

What does this title of the topic say? Your topic was merged into this as it is a suggestion; this is where the ideas for maps lives. I don't know if you're topic that once was or the old one by Superkid33, which has fallen under into the archives; this what we have now and it is run actively

I like the unique layout, but as lafasta said, look over the editor a bit more and learn how to use it, as well as the props. Being able to tie in textures and correct prop usage will help the map visually make sense and fit in with the current maps of the game. Keep at it!

I'm going to post this because I have no idea where else to.

I just downloaded everything that is needed to start creating

maps for Tanki Online, but the main problem I'm running into

is finding the damned location of the damned Adobe AIR file.

Yes, you heard me right, I cannot find the file on my computer,

no matter how many times I search for it, the only thing that

pops up in all searches is the AdobeAIRInstaller.exe and when

I try running it, it just says that it's already installed on my

system and nothing more. The Tankwiki site claims that

there was supposed to be a desktop icon added after the

initial installation, but no matter how many times I install

and uninstall the damn thing via CCleaner and Add&Remove

Programs from Control Panel, the damn thing won't show

itself.

I've been tinkering with options on how to find the freakin

thing for almost an entire hour, I tried every single search

method I can think of short of disassembling my computer

and pulling to hard drive out so I can use the damn magnifying

glass to look for it myself,  with my own eyes. I'm utterly frustrated

because I was in the mood today to try making some maps, and

now all I can think of is that cursed AdobeAIR sitting in some

hidden corner of my computer mocking me...

=== Edit, fixing countless typos due to my angry rant getting

out of control...

Well, I suggest you try to download Adobe AIR again, once you've done that, go to your start menu and type in '%appdata%' (it's your roaming folder) and somewhere there, you should find a folder called 'Adobe' in this folder there should be other one, called 'AIR'.

Thanks for the tip... Fortunately I managed to figure out what the problem was eventually,

and believe it or not, Adobe AIR wasn't to blame, it is my own sheer inexperience. The problem

was in the fact that I extracted the files from AlternativaEditor incorrectly, I was supposed to

extract the initial pack but instead I went one step deeper and I actually extracted the Alternativa

subfiles, because WinZip saw it like a folder and allowed me to go one level deeper, where

I shouldn't have reached.

After I downloaded AlternativaEditor again, I actually just extracted the AIR file and then

double-clicked on it, Adobe AIR did the rest and I got access to the editor.

It's a beginners mistake, but I'm posting it anyway, maybe you should add this tip into

the guide so it doesn't happen to anyone else when accessing it for the very first time...

PS EDIT: I'm already working on TWO maps, so I won't be playing any battles tonight.

I'm interested to know what's the detailed procedure for submitting my maps for game

acceptance, so players could actually do their battles on them... Thanks in advance

for the responce, feel free to PM me about the detailed procedure, because I am very

interested in making maps for Tanki Online in the future...

That's great you're taking an interest in this! Would be great to see what you have to show.

Also, we're* working on a guide to help beginners; if you need help using the software.

Commercial District

Players: 24 total (12 vs 12)

Props: Regular, 3rd, some v1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtVuFE0zmrU&feature=youtu.be

Will (re)notate the video in the morning.

Did not do a walk through of it til now. Probably wont add sprites as the editor can barely handle the file. Probably one of my most detailed works to date.

I will get Monolith out before the end of the event (Sunday)

Can anyone please provide the link to the English version

of TTT (Tank Testing Tool), since every single download

link I found provided me with a Russian version...

Thanks...

Title: Hockey CTF/DM/TDM

Description: I created a map that looks like a hockey rink. It relates to Stadium, but it is very different. Trust me. I put numbers above on certain places to show you what I picture them looking like. This is what they are:

1. Something slightly wider than this:

4kJCxo7.jpg?1

2. Exactly what is below, minus the buildings/silos

CroIjtc.jpg

3. Something very similar to this, and on CTF the flags would be in the middle

DHjPuJ6.jpg

4. Without the hills/mountains/whatever you want to call them:

5. The hills/mountains/whatever you call them:

I really like my idea, and I hope it receives some thought. I will allow STAFF ONLY to make modifications but I don't want them to be too big because I feel this map would really work. Thank you for your time!

I want to present this as an idea again, as I think this is a great map for Tanki.

Also I am having trouble downloading the props...

For those that are having trouble, check out the front page where we have put together a very special package that will suit your map making needs. If you have trouble with it, please let us know.

That concludes the March MapMaking Madness event! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoy showing you our maps. Now its your turn, Post your map!

suggetion for mods,

if a player makes a map and it gets in game, i think he/she should be rewarded by at least 50k crystals depending on the map. :)

That would definitely motivate players to contribute,

especially those like myself who can't afford paying

to play the game...

So I downloaded and installed everything, works perfect, made one great map and saved it... However saving doesnt work. it gets saved as jus a normal file. No .xml file... Can't load the file either.

How do I fix this I've spend some nice hours on it so now I want to complete it.

^PROBLEM ALREADY SOLVED^

Didn't add .xml in the file name when saving it
