Ideas for Maps!

Just a few more ideas:

Docks: A port with tankers and cargo ships which can be driven on. Very large map. Has multiple branches.

Airport: A single runway and bordered by a number of fences. Hangers and planes. The planes can be driven on if they are tilted. They can catch fire but will not take visible damage other than the flames. Trucks and tugs also around.

Hanger: A large hanger with large planes. The aircraft are already damage, some crippled. Fuel trucks are around, lights flicker, fires burn. There are gangways and higher levels but no way out.

yes but bro these are a bit simular to each other so thats why think better how about you and me think of new maps very defferent from each other

I'm bad at mapmaking for one reason: I always (unintentionally) go for looks instead of functionality. The only map where I didn't do this was on the map I entered for the map making contest, thankfully.

You can make a map that looks good but also has effective gameplay, just takes a bit more effort.

Map: Tokyo Drift

Mode: drag race

Hull: Hornet

Turret: Smoky

Description: A twisting, winding map, somewhat like Monte Carlo and/or Death Track. You cannot kill the other tank, but there is no reason a shot should not throw the other one off balance.

Goal: race of 3 laps between two tanks while shooting designated targets (red/blue). Each missed/bypassed target is a penalty time of 2.2 to 3 seconds. Fastest time of the 3 laps wins.

This is just a draft idea.

The fast and the furious Tokyo drift right here.

It would be quite difficult to create something like this.

Just to create popup targets on a map?

Not just that. Would need certain props, also how many players would be allowed to participate? How would the players know when to start - what if someone leaves during the race?

It's only a 2-player mode. There would be a starting box when there hulls would "lock" into. They can press forward and use nitro but will still be locked in the box until the light goes green - all for a fair start. There would be a certain amount of red circles and blue circles held up by a post on the sides of the road. If they hit it, it blows up and then resets once an entire lap is completed. If they miss and bypass, there is a substantial time penalty (compounded every lap) at the end of the race. So the tanks are pretty much forced to hit it in order to continue.

+1 I like the concept of your idea but on flash, wont be possible. Something like this may have the possibility in Unity. A race type event was created for Word of Tanks for a short period of time, slightly different of course and it worked surprisingly well.

I would like to see it materialize. I mean, the Hornet's drift is what grabbed my attention a while back when I created a private map of Death Track (I've never played on that map before) and I was just chillin' seeing how Hornet reacts on the turns with Nitro.

Not a bad idea, but wrong topic. This does not involve map making as much as it does reworking the code and creating a new game mode. This should be in the suggestions topic :)
