If the map "Island" had sides, would it still be an island? :)

Here's a map I finished in February of this year but I wasn't able to make it load in TTT, but now it finally loaded by removing a few props!

Barcelona is a reference to the subway station style named the Barcelona solution, which is three platforms (the center one is for users to leave the station)

 

 

Again, good work.  the vast height of the underground gives it a very different feel from the above ground, and as always, when you have dual environments like that, your above ground should be just as good as below, otherwise, it is like an alleyway that people just use to escape, not play.  This map has both.

So editing film for next map release, and tah dah, STUPID FLOATING BUSH IS STILL THERE!  uugggg, had to do all new raw footage.

 

I don't know what's harder, making the maps, or the videos.

(BE GENTLE. I have NO video editing software and the TTT tank runs a little slow and a little odd, doesn't handle great.)


Concept of a capital of a small nation city state.


Notes


This map is unique in that the surrounding edges contain varying heights that are offset and nonstandard to any maps.  I wanted to attempt this technique for the purposes of creating more realistic and appealing landscapes.

Some viewers might lament that portions of the map are not explored fully in this video.  Unfortunately, the inspiration for this video came from the song Der Kommissar by Falco, and covered by After the Fire in English in the video.  I would have preferred the original but it was far too short.  That said, the After the Fire cover was not long enough for the entire map to be explore by tank.  If viewers wish to see a longer version, go to the Raw Testing channel and view the video there title Grand Duchy - Testing.




Thoughts


This map has it all, size, cover, many passages, playing area that is optimal for all types of hulls and turrets, numerous paths to and from the enemy, and elevations, along with a tunnel.

Embarrassing!!!

 

 

Again, thwarted by the unexpected.  The video IS THERE, honest, BUT, turns out the song I chose is not reuse friendly apparently.  Buffer for me of course, BUT, have no fear, Fog is here.  I shall recompile with some sort of solution (UUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHH, not again) and post soon.

Huge map, nice.

Maybe you could let the train rail go into the void by unblocking the ends and removing the walls.

I just never figured Viking4s for much of a "cute map" type of person.  You two kinda started all this.  I mean, i guess, just, caught me off guard.

FINALLY

 

It's up, it's available, and I have a challenge for everyone (or better yet, a poll).

 

Tried a new way of filming the map given I was sick and tired of cutting the same footage OVER AND OVER.

 

Tell me what you think.  If I need to, I'll DO IT OVER if you guys don't like it.

Wow, the castles looks impressive by how you assembled them, the whole map looks amazing, the only problem I saw was with the 3rd library ramp that was there, but overall the rest is good.

The gameplay could be for all kinds of turrets, for those small places it could be good to use a short range turret

We are barely active there, but I would try sometimes to post something related to mapmaking

I'm SO confused?!  I thought the library labeled "Server" was comprised of only the items currently in use on Tanki servers?  Can you snap a a pic of the ramp in question so I can take a look?

 

And if this is the case, how on earth can you distinguish which are which?

 

(this makes me SO MAD, I've been religiously following the rules and only using "Server" library, or a subset of it, why does this happen to me?)

The Server folder indicates that all of the props in the folder are in-game props, but that doesn't mean they are in the same category

There are three (four) libraries: Regular, v1 (Industrial), Third Library and the unique Iran library, but we are going to exclude the last one because there is not much use of it

So inside the server folder, thre also limitations then, this I did not know, it was my impression all things Server could be mixed and matched.  Good to know, I had been working on a hybrid Iran and Hills type map, though the color matching for dirt and grass was always killing me, so I drug me feet.  Good thing too then.

Yeah, both sides as well, they have access to tight spaces, left and right of the diagonal line from the flags (anyone who reads this and says "Where are they, you didn't put any flags in here," I encourage you to start drawing stick figures and building up your "imagination").  It's not completely evident from the video, BUT, the houses do have "flows of traffic", redirecting the movement of units here and there.  Firebirds, Freezes, and Hammers would have a field day in there.  Plenty of long range shots too.  Oddly, the midgame would be the harshest to try to play in this game.

 

As always, thanks for props and input (now I have to find a new ramp)

Oh and you can press F5 to show the spawnpoints and flags

I appreciate greatly the keyboard instructional, but that comment was for any and all the numb skulls that might NOT SEE the prominently placed platforms on the opposite corners of the map.

 

So, tell me, what happens to the engine if they try to mix and match those libraries?  IT slows the game to impossible speeds or it simply cannot render and fails?

I have a suggestion !  You know , we like to play video games like GTA and call of duty . I'm tellin' that  make a game like gta tanki ! in that game , there are humans , animals , buildings I mean in that game we have to missions to complete , humans to kill ,same as grand theft auto vice city ! if plesae interested, temme!

JGR changes

 

The maps in JGR really need to be changed. First, Iran is a terrible JGR map. I usually just leave right away. Like, you gotta give the poor JGR some fighting chance. It's just filled with Viking/Freeze/Fires who use their OD to kill the JGR, only to get killed by another OD'd Viking. Second, Highways needs to go back to it's original length for JGR. There needs to be at least one map in which a Mammoth/Freeze can't dominate, no matter the skill or lack thereof of the player. No joke, a Mammoth Freeze won a game of Highways JGR, and they were the JGR twice, I think. Also, I know this has probably been brought up before, but JGR needs to go to PRO-battles. I know that I, for one, would love a long JGR game. They always end way too quickly. But, anyways,

I disagree about Iran, but some maps are definitely quite bad. JGR in PRO battles has definitely been suggested, and developers are aware.
