Ideas for Maps!

The appeal of night mode, at least in my opinion, is in using the light emitted by turrets firing to figure out where enemies are.

I agree on that, but for some players it's hard and unpleasant to play in a dark map, especially after having had some battles in daylight maps previously - I believe frequently switching from light and dark is also not very good for one's eyes. Another thing is that players may need to improve their graphical settings to have a better sight on the battlefield; game-devices of players who can't handle higher settings will be having less frames per second and thus poorer gameplay-quality.

The Halloween event was different since tankers were constantly playing in dark-mode maps, plus they had the choice to participate in these event-maps while MatchMaking is focused on random selection.

I fully agree with @ThirdOnion here. The appeal of night mode lies in the aesthetic use of lighting effects to light up the othewise dark map. With Tanki's current rather poor lighting engine it's not gonna work well at all.

Would that not defeat the point of night mode? The "night mode" on the mobile version just looks like summer day but with a different skybox. Similarly space mode is summer day but with a different skybox.

Tell this to players who don't want to see night mode in MM. You can't. I would rather have the same light in night mode with some light effects (only in MM) than have nothing.

Why not introduce an evening mode.

It will contain incarnadine + bluish-red colored sky with patches of purple, yellow and fusia here and there.

The ambient noise for this mode will be of birds chirping and water splashing and distant tanks being destroyed by rail guns and thunders.

As it is evening mode, the light will be plenty for good visibility in the battle.

You might even call it Dusk/Dawn theme.

What are you waiting for? Suggest it!

Well, that's true, but I don't want to steal ideas of other people.

I would like diversity in themes on maps, apart from only summer and winter. Having a substitute for the questionable dark-mode seems like a good idea to me! To add, it would be interesting if shadows of entities and buildings etcetera are stretched out on the ground due to the low position of the sun; that way, the atmosphere of dawn/dusk is even more emphasized and therefore creates a true morning or evening feeling

That's great, but i think the sun shouldn't wanke up fully, you should still be able to see stars.

That's great! I remember in that time was a lot of talks about it, like adding traffic lights with a real light and some hot ideas...

In that time it was looks very modern, but I think now even the Flash looks more modern than this interface... I think this fad has gone though I liked Garage design and battles

Hi i just thought of this, probably will never happen, but its worth a shot. In some of the medium to larger maps such as rio ect.  U could add water in the self-destruct zones. If any of the tanks went in it they would sink and upon hitting the bottom they would self destruct. However. the hovering tanks hopper, and ares would float ontop of the water. and would only self-destruct upon going to the very edge of the map. U could also add platforms in the water that would support any of the normal tanks. So in parkhour mode they could fly onto them. In my opinion its pretty cool. But u know...

It would look cool, however, i think tanki need to redesign the graphics before that. Also, ares and hopper should also self destruct in that zones, just lile now, exept if the can jump out of them, or go through them.

actually a cool idea, though being surrounded by water would make many maps feel like islands. And the idea for Hopper would allow it to reach places that tanks were not intended to.

That would be fun. Several maps can actually get water added:
Seruphov (see below), Berlin, Tribute, Rio... (everywhere there is a low level)

Demo of Tanki online displayed Tribute map with water props (but you would die falling into it)

Or create new one

Actually the one in Serpuhov, and Tribute. It would be cool if they actually made a slightly animated shallow water texture if the game is put on high graphics. Wouldn't effect gameplay but would be a cool nice touch and give more meaning to the Bridges! Imagine the Bridges Map like that!

I also just thought of this they could have a deeper part of the water, (that would make u self-destruct), and they could have very shallow water that would cool down your tank when it over heats.

Ummm....maps? I would rather see this in ideas for matchmaking, but not in this category. This category is mainly for map changes/ new map suggestions, as i see.

NEW UNIQUE MAPS

Regarding the vlog of the 264 episode, you mentioned the new maps. We hope that creating new maps will not be expensive.
We thought for a long time about what the new maps would look like. We thought the new maps might be able to remind some unique places in the world. We decided to list some places, and developers can make and design them to suit the game. In parentheses, we will list the things that a particular map might contain.

Maps:
-Alcatraz (look of the island where the prison is located, city map)
-Rome (Colosseum and corridors in the colosseum, city map)
-Paris (eiffel tower, city map)
-Venice (city on the water with special bridges, unique boats on the water)
-Egypt (pyramids with tunnels in it, underground room with chests that may contain mummies, secret places, desert map)
-Stonehenge (unique circle of arranged stones, forest map)
-China (Great Wall of China, large wall in the middle of the map with towers on it, forest map)
-Teotihuacan (unique Mayan pyramid, monuments, secret places, forest map)
-London (unique bridge and big ben, you can also add payphones to street, city map)
-Spaceship (fight on moving sapaceship, stars move, planets, night map)
-Warship (fight on a warship on the water)
-Airport (fight at the airport, planes, runway, central tower, city map)

A lot of such maps can be made considering how many unique places and objects there are on our planet.
We hope our idea will help developers for new maps. Thanks for reading our idea.
