Ideas for Maps!

I searched everything o.O

 

Ok I found it but when I click any of the files, like a hull, it says theres nothing...so....

It's too easy, you just load things to make other things ;)

The learning curve is really steep though. And don't even get started on the lag when the map is huge (like the one I'm making).

Also feel free to post in this topic suggestions on how current maps should be improved and what featured should be added.

 

Here's my suggestion: I was viewing the maps in the Wiki and none of them show where the bases are for CTF, unless I overlooked them. That would be a great help for new players and to refresh the memory of more seasoned players. Some players have favorite maps they play on a regular basis and others rarely. A blue and red circle on each map would be helpful.

nope... does not work... but I will say when I try and open Tanks Testing Tool with flash player I get an error message...

do I need a specific library?

Introduction:

Welcome to my original idea of a new Tanki Online map. I have put a lot of thought and effort into this so I hope that you enjoy this cool idea and maybe it will be in the game someday. I always love coming up with new ideas to change the game or add new things.

Make sure to read this til the end because that's where it gets exciting.

Enough with talking, let's get into it…

 

The Basics:

This will be a map representing the planet mars, which is the fourth planet from the sun. The map will contain a mars-like environment like craters and holes and bumpy places and textures. It will include rocky cliffs and other huge rocks. This will give it the mars-like feel and a fun place to battle.

 

There will ofcourse be 2 sides, 1 for the red team and the other for the blue team. But for example when players need to hide behind walls, it won't be walls instead it will be big rocks.

There will be small to large craters. Tankers can fall into the larger ones. It depends on the size of the hull too.

 

Textures and colouring:

This a a very important aspect of the map. It will have a unique brownish mars colour as shown in this mini picture.

The lighter part is the ground. That's how the ground will look like, ofcourse with better detail. The spots are mini mars-stones. There is also a mini hole/crater shown in the picture. I'm not the best at drawing so it could look better. The mountains/big rocks will be a different colour than the lightish ground colour. It will be the darker one as shown on the left side. It will also have the particle effect when tanks drive on the ground (Like winter maps have small snow particles pop out when driven on).

 

Background:

The background will have a brownish clouds and dust. It will also have a unique view of Earth. This will make the experience very realistic and fun and also look amazing as shown in this picture

It will look better in game. Like small clouds will be over earth so that earth is behind the clouds. This will give the feeling of being on mars.

 

Optional Features:

Here are some features that could come with it.

 

The mars map could have it so that the gravity will be lower than other maps, it won't be like space mode. The no gravity will be much less as effective as in space mode. Players should not be flying around. But when jumping, the tanks will jump a bit higher than usual nothing game changing.

 

When the map is made in a pro battle with space mode, the no gravity will not get stronger. (You can't fly higher).

 

Another optional feature is that every 2-3 minutes there comes a wind with dust and could possibly flip wasps or hornets but to avoid this they must stick to a rock/wall. This does not affect viking, titan, mammoth, dictator, hunter etc. It will just give them a little push depending on where the wind strikes from. The wind will have dust effects and particles to make it cooler.

These effects will make the map unique and unlike the other maps.

It is very good idea, its like from that TX, but i think we must wait long time for such a map or planet map. intresting...

Over the years that I have played Tanki Online, I have witnessed so many players who falls in the self-destruct zones on maps, and guess what..., they explode and lose 5 crystals and 5 points as a penalty. To reduce the number of self-destructs, I have come up with a great idea that can reduce self-destruct penalties, but also enable players to play in the self destruct zones of maps.

 

By having an option in the Settings menu where players can enable or disable the self-destruct zones on maps can have many amazingly interesting benefits.

 

To begin with, when disabling the self-destruct zones on maps it allows players to enter those areas and find good camping ground for attacking enemies at long ranges. This means that the playing area on maps gets bigger, enabling players with long range turrets to make kills easier. For example, a shaft player might want to enter the self-destruct zones of the Polygon map to find a good place to hide and kill enemies within his sight.

 

The self-destruct zones of maps can either be enabled or disabled just to make battles more various and feel different than usual. This has nothing to do with cheating or power levelling.

 

My suggestion on disabling the self-destruct zones of maps is to make maps feel bigger, allowing players to take a different perspective when using turrets that take a long time to reload, like Shaft and Magnum.

 

I have seen such a thing like this in one of the Developer's Dairy of Tanki X, and it really helps players that are having great difficulty on getting kills with specific turrets.

 

I hope you like and agree with my suggestion. My suggestion on disabling or enabling the self-destruct zones of maps does not cause any harm to the game's balance of Tanki Online.

Yo, the warehouse on the map sandbox has got to go. Im so done with kids camping behind that warehouse and im just spawning and already getting shot immediately and by then your already at an disadvantage if you werent. Blue team has a big advantage while red team have a big disadvantage, cause if you dont take care of that one kid camping behind that warehouse then its game over you will lose. That warehouse literally changes the game on sandbox at least in xp battles it does, personally i think it should be removed when xp/bp is activated at least. Red team doesnt have an advantage really with that warehouse cause you would be deep in spawn defending ultimately losing the game i guess. I dont know but if you are one of those kids camping behind that warehouse you piss me off, its annoying as hell to go against them especially if they are some what good players too. I.....i......i just cant.

While I played Tanki over the years, a few changes were done to those self descruct zones; and some maps have been modified with additional blockades. Most of the times the reason was like "prevent the flag from beeing hidden there for ever".

So most of that zones can be reached only with a turret that has a decent recoil, and sometimes you need a partner too, that helps you up <- both things that a usual short-ranger does not have. So those zones are here to make the game more balanced and more fair.

 

I think you are better off to take the maps that are played in regular random/battle-button/matchmaking battles, and make precise proposals for them. Then you can have the discussed in this thread.

(take your time to learn how to trigger the shot behind the corner, pop out and place a shot right next to the house's edge.witha  likelyhood of 8 of 10 tries. You will be his nightmare :) )

We need a map with 1 tower bunker that players can get to, to hide, camp, and fire at long range. Such a map would be very necessary for Shaft and Magnum players, since those turrets take quite some time to reload between shots.

 

This map must be flat and have wide open spaces for players using long range turrets to be able to make the kills. Shaft and Magnum players in particular, would really benefit on having a large map with one tower bunker to climb up for cover and take the shot from there. Players on ground level would still be able to attack the player camping on the top of the tower bunker from below by aiming upwards.

 

This is really a map that would be completely different from all the current maps that are available in Tanki Online. This map would be unique, and give the Shaft and Magnum players the ability to take kills without being killed too often. This map would work like a sniper shooting his rifle from the roof of a multi story building.

 

This map would have all the spawn points located at the bottom of the map, to avoid long range players from getting killed from behind, like on other maps.

 

A suitable name for this map that I would consider is called Long Range. I call this map Long Range because it is made suitable for long range players, as well as short and medium range players.
