The old Thunder Explosion was pretty awesome :D

I think the new Graphs are more Child-Friendly, ya know? It almost looked real back then...

 

Yeah I agree, pretty rough and pure design.

The new version is soft and boring, it's a good thing they increased the contrast of the paints.... but this should be done to the whole game.

Personally, I think it would be a great idea. I joined one and a half years ago (nearly halfway into 2011, so before all the changes), and really miss those Massacre battles when I was pwned by Majors with M1\M2 Tier 2 weapons as a Sergeant. Ah, good times... :D

Graphics don't matter. Gameplay does. If you're from the 90's you will surely understand through the good Old Mario, Sonic, Megaman, etc....

Those games are still around and people still play them even if their graphics are the crapiest.

Indeed, the new Marios are just lame, imo.

I do still play Tanki. Even more now that Tanki helpcenter finally got my 1st Tanki account back, which was stolen 3 years ago (the pic I posted in this topic is that account)

The problem is I started to miss the old one as I kept playing the updated Tanki. The gameplay just changed too much and it gets rather boring along the way. Memories started to flood my brain and I have an ever increasing urge to play the classic Tanki. On the other hand, I'm gradually losing interest on the new one.

 

It's rather complicated to explain. When a game is being updated it must improve the past version. But in this case the rebalance didn't feel like an unpgrade. It felt more like a whole new game was created. And some people will obviosuly creticize because they now cannot access the old game, which is too different.

 

 

Let me give you a solid example. Imagine that all Mario games were one single browser game that was being updated. Imagine that you are playing Super Mario World.

Now the forum announces a new update is coming. When the update finally arrives, Super Mario World was suddenly converted into Mario64 just like that! And you're like "Holy crap!! It's 3D!! Everything so awesome and different!".

You keep playing that version but one day you might say that would like to play Super Mario World again because there's just something classic and special about it. You felt like the gameplay of both Marios were too different and you needed to kill the nostalgia of the last one. But now you can't because the game was upgraded and you can't go back anymore.

 

That's how I felt when Tanki was updated to version 114

I think the only unbalanced weapons in todays Tanki are the too powerful Isida and Thunder

 

Edit: and M0 twins and M0 Rail seem a little too weak too I guess

Actually, Thunder is not as powerful as it once was. It's been nerfed. Isida is Stronger, Twins are OP'd, Thunder is like... 3-4th in Position. I used to be Thunder and Freeze were the strongest... but that's changed now... Rail I won't even talk about... I just don't use it, nor do I use Twins. Edited March 19, 2013 by Dragon-Judgement

Why doesn't tanki think like their players? The devs just want money. Old tanki used to be awesome, I loved my isida m2 and hornet m1 at only the rank of warrant officer 1!

You think Thunder has been nerfed? It does more damage and has a faster reload. Before I could take out a thunder M1 with 2 rail shots without dying on a 1vs1 head on. Now my M1 rail doesn't have enough time to reload it's 2nd shot against M0 thunder (I use Viking M1). To survive I must corner the Thunder and let the splash damge of its own gun kill him.

Twins M0 are under powered. I'm not sure about the other upgrades though.

However I love my M1 Rail and I stay on the top very often. The change in effectiveness from M0 to M1 is ridiculously huge, though. I like it, it can take out M1 Mamooths with 2 shots 80% of the time

If cornering a Thunder is an option, it's gonna get cut short. Some Thunders are smart and will hit walls near you to avoid hitting themselves(like me, lol). So trying to run up in a Thunders face won't always work in an open space either, since some people tend to lay mines when that happens and if you don't see it... well you suffer the consequences. So you have to be smart when playing some people... we're not AI's that follow a pattern in a video game either, so develop your own tactics. ;)

Those tactics work very well against Shaft or Rail gun but against faster firing guns It doesn't work that often unless you have an Isida covering your back.

I have more experience with Isida and Railgun so I can't judge the other guns that well. But I did play with all of them so I can understand how to explore their weaknesses.

the graphics of the old tanki is crap...full of darkness (in my opinion)...i just dont like update 123! but i love the rebalance...it balances all the guns...thats good!

No. It hasn't been discussed. The plan is not to rollback to old tanki. Read again
