Ridiculous Ban

So I was recently banned with quite a lot of other people for putting a comment in the complaints section. I think it is very unfair. I was banned for ignorance of forum rules, or whatever. I do agree, it was my fault for not reading the rules, but it is very unfair. First of all, a week ban, I think, is ridiculous, especially with such a small issue as this. I have a few ideas to help myself, and others, from avoiding this ban in again, or in the future

- The first time someone posts in the complaint section that isn't supposed to, should only have a small, ban, such as a hour, or 24 hours

-When creating a post to the complaint section, it should be locked to people who aren't supposed to comment there, and is only open to mods, and people who won't be banned from posting.

So those ideas shouldn't really be in the complaint section, but I am also complaining about this awful ban. Everyone (except one or two people) got banned from this topic http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=176078&hl=thecatlady&st=0 was only banned for a week, so that means it was their first time posting in the complaint section, and that they didn't know. Though, the excuse of "I didn't know" because someone, such as I, didn't read the rules, is unacceptable. I just think that people posting in the wrong section for the first time, should get a warning, or a smaller ban.
